Just wondering what your doctors or midwives have deemed as "safe" cold medications to take during pregnancy. My midwife gave me a list of meds that does include Tylenol, Tylenol Sinus and Tylenol PM, but what I'd like to take is Tylenol Cold/Congestion. (Well, I'd rather not take anything but this miserable head cold is keeping me up all night... if I lie down, my sinuses immediately plug up...) I'm doing all the natural remedies and they are working ok.

i was just wondering if your alowed to take tylenol pm while your pregnant i am desperate i am so uncomfortable and just can't seem to sleep at night.

To be safe, I did'nt take anything medications when I was sick, I just drank hot tea, lots of water and rested, it was horrible.

depending on the type of cold sudafed is also safe to take while pregnant (sinus congestion) my.dr has had me take it a few diff times this pregnancy.

I do not believe in taking anything while pregnant even if the doctor says its safe. I am almost 28 weeks and I cracked my tooth months ago by eating a chip, lately its getting to the point where I'm in sooo much pain its shooting pain from my tooth into my temple. it was on the news that Tylenol causes ADHD when taken while pregnant.

So go see ur doctor and he will help u with pregnancy safe meds, its more safe to take meds and kill all those germs than suffer for couple weeks.

I have just come down with a cold and I have also recently found out I am pregnant. I was wondering if it was safe to take Sudafed or something like that? My cold is mainly in my sinuses and I need some relief. What should I do? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can take ro robitussin. That helped me when I got sick. I'm pretty sure you can use dimeatap to. If you are unsure I would call your gyn and make sure.

Allthough a tooth ache is very painful it is not safe to take any medications with out your docs approval while pregnant. Contact your ob and dentist immediatly and in the mean time tylenol is safe for exspecting mothers. You also may try holding a cold ice pack or a heating pad to the swollen area to help with the pain. I sincerley hope you feel better soon and wish you the best of luck with your pregnancy.

There are some cold medications that are safe, along with tylenol. But I'd check with your ob to be safe.

Thank you now that you said that I remember my piece of paper with safe medications said benedryl if your having insomnia, & since its for those symptoms I'm sure it can't hurt to try it.

I took prescribed vicodin in my first trimester while I did not know I was pregnant. My first OB visit while pregnant was at the end of my third month. I notified her that I was taken vicodin and she said it was not a problem. She also told me not to continue to take vicodin. Some days I would not take any and some days I would take one or two depending on the pain. I quit cold turkey about two weeks ago.

I have had a successful pregnancy while having GM. My doctor, for the most part let me pick and choose what medications I was going to stay on while pregnant, in my opinion, it's all up to you and your level of comfort and how bad your own personal symptoms are.

So im 8 weeks and before i was pregnant i had terrible acne the only thing that helped was using proactive which contains saliciac acid and benzoil perixid which ive read you should avoid . Id really like to find something to help manage my acne while im pregnant anyone have a solution ?
