My 11 week has rsv .. He was full term .. Has any other mother had this in a infant ..

I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.

but Influenza is excruciatingly painful (and RSV was not painful but is the only virus I went to an ER fearing death.) I fear Influenza so much I have been doing masks and Listerine for years but all it takes is that one exposure (RSV) during a lapse in following my own advice. I am curious whether Influenza could be eradicated in the future.

My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???

Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!

My baby Dr. wants me to get the flu shot. I am suppose to have my baby in February, which for Oklahoma last year we had that big snow storm an got like 20inches or 4 ft of snow. Idk i can't remember. Ive never had it and i dont want it but im still considering whether i should or shouldnt take it. My dad took this shot when i was lil an got real sick from it the hospital told him if he hadn't of come in when he did he would have died.

old has asthma and allergies.....had a flu shot on the 11th.......on the 17th he started wheezing, breathing rapidly, running a fever of 102.6...18th ne started getting diarrhea, nasal congestion along with the other symptoms, last night he began vomiting and his cough sounds croupy....could this be from the flu shot or could it be pneumonia...any advice!!!!???????????

Last month was supposed to be the last but they called a couple of weeks ago and told us that half the kids that are coming in sick are testing positive for RSV and if Cassidy got it she would go back to the NICU again so I guess this month will be the last.

RSV is a resportory disease that starts as a common cold and then starts to shot down the resportory system very scary. We finally found out what it was that my daughter had. She had strep in the stomach and intestines. Instead of the strep staying in her throat she swallowed it. I am very concerned about this respiratory virus, it's hitting our state hard and by the numbers!!! I live in Atlanta Georgia (USA if course). It's been known to man kind since the 1960's but it's at its highest rate now in 2014. It's been very active since August but has left many children in the hospital and most are in the intensive care unit!!! An average of 4/5 days to stay, some even more. I am worried about my children at school a 2nd grader and a kindergartener.

RSV is a respiratory virus...my son's symptoms: cough, congestion, runny nose, breathing issues.....i do have a runny nose but i have had a runny nose off and on for 4 weeks now!!! my lmp was October 18th-21st light pink/brown discharge....sorta spotting but not enough to wear a panty liner!!! my husband and i have been having unprotected sex for sometime now and were actively ttc and decided to stop in october before my lmp..........i should start AF in 5 days....

He was okay to come home then he was 5 weeks old and got really ill with the RSV and was in the hospital and then heart failure then the surgery then infection and more illness. he does have pulmomary issues partly because my hubby has asthma and the ithers they are saying is from bing on a ventilator at such a young age. I was in the ER a year ago because I felt like I was suffocating to death, and was hearing crackles in my chest. RSV B virus according to the nasal aspiration test lab results. (RSV-a pleasant way to die-you slowly suffocate but don't have any of the nasal sinus throat pain that comes with flu.) Xrays were negative but oxygenation rate was 85% and they gave me oxygen and an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, discharged home with antibiotics and an inhaler.

Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

Add to that, the fact that we went on Tuesday to get our RSV shots and I ended up with all the adverse side effects of the shot (headache, fatigue, redness/soreness at the injection site, etc), along with trying to get through cooking for Thanksgiving. Y'all know I'm prone to fatigue, so the tiredness wasn't anything unusual, other than the fact that I'd been feeling 1/2 way decent until I got that shot. I'm not prone to headaches, so that really knocked my socks off.

Well, after going back and forth and debating whether or not I should get this vaccine has really been tough on me. I recieved my flu shot yesterday and asked the PA what he thought of the H1N1 vaccine. He said to me "Honestly, you really need to get it being pregnant...The mortality rate for pregnant woman is now up to 50% and the vaccine may also protect your baby once born which is good b/c infants are too young to receive the flu vaccines...

I went to my 18 wk sonogram yesterdayand told doc my 14 month old has rsv. A respitory virus and that now i have cold like symptoms and a rash on my face. She said i coukd have parvo and they drew blood to find out for sure but i don't have results yet. She says my baby can become anemic and can need a blood transfusion while in the womb. I am so terrified.
