Avatar f tn My 11 week has rsv .. He was full term .. Has any other mother had this in a infant ..
593530 tn?1263847957 I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.
Avatar n tn My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. Avatar m tn RSV ( Respiratory synctial virus) is an antibody test that detects antibodies against RSV virus thats related to a respiratory infection. Lets wait till other experts comment on your query.

Avatar f tn my baby has RSV. I felt sick a little before we found out she had it and then a cople days later I got a cold do you think that could be it? and thank you.
Avatar f tn This could be asthma and it could be related to the respiratory syntactical virus (RSV). However, you or your son’s doctors should not assume that asthma or cough-variant asthma is the diagnosis. Other causes of nocturnal cough should be investigated including, but not limited to, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic rhinitis and sinusitis and cystic fibrosis (CF). He may need to be seen by a pediatric pulmonologist.
Avatar n tn is there a site or information regarding coxsackie b virus. My husband caught this and it attacked his heart, causing myocarditis, and --heart failure. They say you can only catch it from a person, but he was around filthy conditions where rats even were found dead--and not from traps or poison......raw sewage, animal feces (to the point of the building being condemned). Please advise.
Avatar n tn For instance juvenile diabetes is thought to be triggered by a virus - the child was already set up to be vulnerable to developing it, they catch a viral illness and a few weeks later their pancreas starts to stop working and they develop signs of diabetes. Same goes with rsv, a very common respiratory virus that in infants and the elderly ( or immunosuppressed ) can cause them to be very ill.
Avatar f tn Have you been to the doctor? RSV is quite prevalent this year. And cough that is a bit relentless is a symptom. Also, unfortunately, once our respiratory tract gets irritated, coughs can linger for quite a while after a virus has dissipated. Do you have a fever? I'd see a doctor for a cough that goes on for three weeks. I'm sure you are exhausted. Sleeping with a cough is tough.
377012 tn?1283965435 RSV is a respiratory virus...my son's symptoms: cough, congestion, runny nose, breathing issues.....i do have a runny nose but i have had a runny nose off and on for 4 weeks now!!! my lmp was October 18th-21st light pink/brown discharge....sorta spotting but not enough to wear a panty liner!!! my husband and i have been having unprotected sex for sometime now and were actively ttc and decided to stop in october before my lmp..........i should start AF in 5 days....
973741 tn?1342342773 but Influenza is excruciatingly painful (and RSV was not painful but is the only virus I went to an ER fearing death.) I fear Influenza so much I have been doing masks and Listerine for years but all it takes is that one exposure (RSV) during a lapse in following my own advice. I am curious whether Influenza could be eradicated in the future.
Avatar m tn I was in the ER a year ago because I felt like I was suffocating to death, and was hearing crackles in my chest. RSV B virus according to the nasal aspiration test lab results. (RSV-a pleasant way to die-you slowly suffocate but don't have any of the nasal sinus throat pain that comes with flu.) Xrays were negative but oxygenation rate was 85% and they gave me oxygen and an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, discharged home with antibiotics and an inhaler.
1368291 tn?1299629804 Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...
Avatar m tn HHV-6 is a double stranded DNA virus within the betaherpesvirinae subfamily and is of the genus Roseolovirus. The virus infects almost 100% of the human population all over the world....... Reactivation The specific triggers for reactivation are not well understood. Some researchers have suggested that injury, physical or emotional stress, and hormonal imbalances could be involved....... There are no drugs approved specifically for treating HHV-6 infection.
Avatar m tn In a preliminary study, carriers of hepatitis B virus were treated with a preparation of the plant Phyllanthus amarus for 30 days. 22 of 37 (59%) treated patients had lost hepatitis B surface antigen when tested 15-20 days after the end of the treatment compared with only 1 of 23 (4%) placebo-treated controls. Some subjects have been followed for up to 9 months. In no case has the surface antigen returned. Clinical observation revealed few or no toxic effects.
Avatar f tn I have a genus valgus knee and I am 37 years old. I would like to fix my knees before they get worst and the esthetic is the main problem for me right now. But, I want to know if it can be done with an arthroscopy surgery. because I hate scars so much.
Avatar f tn I went to my 18 wk sonogram yesterdayand told doc my 14 month old has rsv. A respitory virus and that now i have cold like symptoms and a rash on my face. She said i coukd have parvo and they drew blood to find out for sure but i don't have results yet. She says my baby can become anemic and can need a blood transfusion while in the womb. I am so terrified.
1556646 tn?1294521754 Could it be related to a virus? He was in the ER yesterday for a high fever and the it happened today. A week after the last incident he was in the hospital for croup and then 2 days later RSV. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Take her to doctor, her oxygen level might be low, there is RSV a virus children get, she needs to get checked!!
Avatar f tn I am very concerned about this respiratory virus, it's hitting our state hard and by the numbers!!! I live in Atlanta Georgia (USA if course). It's been known to man kind since the 1960's but it's at its highest rate now in 2014. It's been very active since August but has left many children in the hospital and most are in the intensive care unit!!! An average of 4/5 days to stay, some even more. I am worried about my children at school a 2nd grader and a kindergartener.
Avatar f tn Hi: You did not say what doctor you have seen already. It could be something that an infectious disease doctor could diagnose, but you are asking about this on the Leukemia website. Did someone suggest the possibility of Leukemia? Usually when a patient presents with a high WBC along with high platelets a bone marrow biopsy is done to rule out Leukemia. If its not a form of Leukemia, then they would do further testing to see what is causing this problem. How old is your daughter?
Avatar f tn He has pneumonia every other month (since birth), he has also had bronchiolitis (without RSV), bronchitis, H1N1, and most currently RSV. When he was two we removed his tonsil and adenoids in hopes to help his asthma symptoms. While it did decrease the amount of sinus infections he had, it did nothing to help any other area. He is on Advair, 115/21 two puffs twice daily, and Allegra (for unknown allergies).
