Avatar f tn My 11 week has rsv .. He was full term .. Has any other mother had this in a infant ..
1346146 tn?1299360497 Well Lauren has rsv! My pedi also said adults can get it to!?!? Didn't know that. I guess that explains this cold type stuff I have. So she is on breathing treatments. We caught it early enough so hopefully it wont be so bad. Dh is also sick, my oldest son broke his foot last week at school and is in a nonwalking cast, and Lauren also bit my left breast last week while nursing and it's infected so im on antibiotics and she can't nurse from that side!
Avatar f tn my baby has RSV. I felt sick a little before we found out she had it and then a cople days later I got a cold do you think that could be it? and thank you.
Avatar n tn He had a stridor that went away by 3 years old. He did not developement upper respiratory infections (URI) until he was almost 2. He is now 10. To date he has had RSV, 6 Pneumonia's, 6 Brochitis/Bronchilitis and 15 Croups. The doctors simply told us at the time that he would out grown it. We still struggle with his health. The best advised I can give you is keep a calendar of events on him. Write on "his calendar" all the times he coughes is ill what meds he is on...whatever.
Avatar f tn Have you been to the doctor? RSV is quite prevalent this year. And cough that is a bit relentless is a symptom. Also, unfortunately, once our respiratory tract gets irritated, coughs can linger for quite a while after a virus has dissipated. Do you have a fever? I'd see a doctor for a cough that goes on for three weeks. I'm sure you are exhausted. Sleeping with a cough is tough.
1347128 tn?1333810296 My 3 month baby had RSV when he was 6 weeks old, but since then, he has a phlegm sound, that is always there.
17339543 tn?1455969537 Take him to Dr asap Please Don't mess around with a baby this young! They can get an terrible infection called RSv its dangerous can cause respiratory problems and if not treated soon enough a hospital stay! My granddaughter had this and we had no clue it was so bad she had to take breathing treatments on a machine they bought her. Please don't hesitate we were shocked when we found out she had this.
Avatar n tn org/diseases-conditions/respiratory-syncytial-virus/symptoms-causes/syc-20353098. This is a very common respiratory virus that many get. When you have a virus such as cold or flu or rsv, it's important to take care of yourself. You also need to watch for secondary infections. This is when bacteria does form in sinuses, lungs, ears, etc. This would be situations like sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infections.
Avatar f tn Prayers but don't stress all babies handle it diff my daughter has respiratory problems when she gets fever it never fails to hit 105 scares the crap out of me but her body handles it my neice had 103 and was a very I'll child anyway praying make sure they test for rsv and ear infections
Avatar m tn I was in the ER a year ago because I felt like I was suffocating to death, and was hearing crackles in my chest. RSV B virus according to the nasal aspiration test lab results. (RSV-a pleasant way to die-you slowly suffocate but don't have any of the nasal sinus throat pain that comes with flu.) Xrays were negative but oxygenation rate was 85% and they gave me oxygen and an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, discharged home with antibiotics and an inhaler.
Avatar n tn Infections usually start out as upper respiratory infections, such as from a cold and then travel down into your lungs (lower respiratory infection). Other times it's from getting the flu and a secondary infection sets in, such as pneumonia or acute bronchitis. Other times you could get acute bronchitis from being exposed to a lot of irritants in the air (such as wood dust, heavy pollution etc).
377012 tn?1283965435 RSV is a respiratory virus...my son's symptoms: cough, congestion, runny nose, breathing issues.....i do have a runny nose but i have had a runny nose off and on for 4 weeks now!!! my lmp was October 18th-21st light pink/brown discharge....sorta spotting but not enough to wear a panty liner!!! my husband and i have been having unprotected sex for sometime now and were actively ttc and decided to stop in october before my lmp..........i should start AF in 5 days....
Avatar f tn Keep an eye on her breathing. My son had RSV and that isn't fun. If she breathes way too fast, acts differently, turns blue or anything take her to the er to get an RSV test done. It can be really dangerous. My sons oxygen level was at 70 and he was hospitalized for a week. If you feel its more than a cold its better to get her checked out. You shouldn't have to wait long at an er because of her age.
Avatar f tn ve been reading your post and researching a bit to see if I can be of help, as your child sounds quite ill in his lower respiratory tract. The RSV can be a serious virus in young children. Were you told much about it? Did the pulmonologist (hopefully you're seeing a specialist!) explain why he/she thinks your son was having these difficulties? Usually a full term baby - even one with asthma doesn't have so many other respiratory disorders.
Avatar n tn Im sorry Doc this is really my last question i swear, but i just remembered i neglected to mention that 6 months after catching pneumonia i caught an upper respiratory infection. I mean, i only smoke when i drink, say... on fridays. So, is it safe to say that regarless of being tested while/under pneumonia and its meds, that negative elisa 2 years after last unprotected exposure would trump symptoms??? Thank you very much in advance and thats the end of it really.
Avatar n tn Would hyperbarics chambers oxygenize in a different way than ventilators, or is it the same thing? I declined admission 2yrs back when I had RSV (b) even though I felt a bit desperate for oxygen (and really sucked it down in the ER.) I was at 85% and left at 95%. I was surprised they don't send you home with prescribed oxygen. (Been wondering about those little canisters of oxygen they sell in catalogs, and those oxygen bars lol.
2041076 tn?1329881359 I am uncertain about what this statement means but assume the symptoms to be those of a cold or another type of upper respiratory infection. Such symptoms may be caused by persistent or recurrent infection but, in many instances are caused by repeated exposure to, 1) an allergic substance or, 2) to an irritant; that is, they can be caused by something present in your environment.
Avatar n tn During the past nine months he has had numerous respiratory problems. He has has pneumonia twice and been hospitalized for a week with bronchilitis once. In addition to these, he has bee diagnosed wtih severe acid reflux and asthma. His whole life he has been congested, coughing, wheezing and sick. He is a big baby, not small and week, actually he is 31 inches long and weighs 26 pounds. He is above average developmentally, however, he is constantly getting sick.
Avatar n tn For instance juvenile diabetes is thought to be triggered by a virus - the child was already set up to be vulnerable to developing it, they catch a viral illness and a few weeks later their pancreas starts to stop working and they develop signs of diabetes. Same goes with rsv, a very common respiratory virus that in infants and the elderly ( or immunosuppressed ) can cause them to be very ill.
Avatar f tn So my cousin she's sick with a respiratory infection and she has a uti. She's in her 2nd trimester. She called me asking if I could go over and help her because she has been home alone and her husband is gone for work for a week. I asked her what she was sick with and she has rsv which is really contagious. And I don't wanna risk me and my baby. I'm almost 37 weeks. So I told her I can't because I don't want to risk it for me and my baby.
Avatar f tn My son is 7 years old has had pneumonia at LEAST 5 times in his life (will find my copies of his record which Ihave to prove it)after having the vaccine, rsv twice before he was 1 year old after having the vaccine, has had a bronchoscopy twice once at 10mos old and one at 5 years old, first one to determine diagnosis second to receive prognosis over time. Today he is 7 with pneumonia again home on Omnicef, spitting out so I can see blood tinged dark green mucous.
Avatar n tn my mother has a nonproductive cough, fever of 102, expiratory wheezes, severe upper left back pain. Any ideas?
