How long it took to get rid of virus? my daugter is 4 weeks old and she got RSV. She was hospitalized for 3 days and was being monitored for her oxygen levels. She is still coughing a lot and its hard to watch her. Doc said it can take upto a month or 2 to fully recover.

My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!

Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

MY question is HOW long am i contagious??? I clean the toilet seat with anti-bacterial wipes after ever trip to the bathroom and i wash my hands a zillion times a day. I brought him in on Friday morning to be checked out and it turns out he caught a virus called Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which is basically an infection of the lungs. Even writing this I break in tears to see my little one suffer so much. It's more like a common cold in adults but for kids his age is more like Bronchiolitis. I just had my son at 33 weeks 6 days. If anyone on here has had preemies before my question is how long after you brought baby home did you stay in the house? I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?

If Covid dragged on forever, that means you had long covid, and that means you could have had long-term consequences. I'm glad it appears you didn't, but we've all had the flu and I don't get where it is excruciatingly painful. It's not at all painful. Yeah, you're tired and might have a headache (or not) and you're pretty sick for a few days, but unless you have some severe underlying conditions it's, well, just the flu for most of us.

(crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!

Whereas ours do not. Can cuffing and atelectasis cause long term damage? How long does it take for this to clear up? What causes scar tissue? Is it normal to have pneumonia as frequently as he does? I do own a pulse oximeter, which I use to closely monitor his o2 (normally he is 96 or above, several times a week he does drop to 91-95), usually in addition to other symtpoms of clamminess, shortness of breath, frequent/persistant coughing.

I am understanding it takes 21 days to manifest itself. My question is, was I contagious 2 weeks ago, and how long will I be contagious. My job is working with the public.
