Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!

I took my 4 week old to the ER and they told me he has RSV. They just gave me a paper on it, They didn't really tell me what to do except suction out his nose. I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?

I have errands and appointments plus my 5 year old has to be taken and picked up from school during the week. I know sick people and other kids are no no's for preemie to be around and hand sanitizing and washing is a must for anyone handling him. I just need advice. I've never had a preemie baby before. Just overly cautious.

My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???

I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.

you also might want to ask your cardiologist or primary doctor about if your little one should recieve the synagis vaccine. this is to help lesson the effects of RSV (this is a viral infection) most kids can fight it off, if they are healthy to begin with. i am not sure if your little one would qualify. I wouldn't see why not. this infection from what I was toldif it affects newborns who are premmeis have a heart condition, lung issues and a low immune system.

How did i end up taking care of 2 babies sick with rsv??! my brother and his babys mom had to leave to virginia for a "job" suposably a day ago they told my mom & SHE agreed to.

So my bf mom is coming tomorrow n I f'n hate her shr talked so much ish bout me n my bf it drives me crazy while I was pregnant with my daughter she was talking to a friend drunk in front of me n said ”if only we didnt have to deal with thr baby mom n just get the baby” I hated her after that while my daughter was sick in the hospital she was in disney land n got mad cuz she had to come back my daughter past away from rsv a day later!!

Masking and distancing has prevented colds and flu. Also, not having kids in school and not going to work. I also would guess more of us got the flu shot -- I got my first one ever. If masking does go away and distancing does go away, and that isn't going to happen any time soon, I imagine that yes, these diseases will come back.

Last month was supposed to be the last but they called a couple of weeks ago and told us that half the kids that are coming in sick are testing positive for RSV and if Cassidy got it she would go back to the NICU again so I guess this month will be the last.

i had a hard time when i had my c section i had never been away from my son 15 months old for more than like 4 hrs and i had to stay in for two days and they couldnt come to my hopital because of RSV in the hospital so no kids under 14 yrs were allowed in.. it was rough for me but he did ok. youll get through it!! Well Lauren has rsv! My pedi also said adults can get it to!?!? Didn't know that. I guess that explains this cold type stuff I have. So she is on breathing treatments. We caught it early enough so hopefully it wont be so bad. Dh is also sick, my oldest son broke his foot last week at school and is in a nonwalking cast, and Lauren also bit my left breast last week while nursing and it's infected so im on antibiotics and she can't nurse from that side!

(crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!

m a stay at home mom so I know how to get these kids to sit and stop and to be in labor while I get these kids to settle down is just something I don't wanna do. So to avoid stress on myself they're going to grandmas. But if you only have 1 child and under 2 it should be easier cause then maybe he could nap thru it. But definitely check with hospital.

s similar to the respiratory viruses RSV (which is horrible, I have been through that with my daughter, she suffers from asthma as an result to that virus, as if today). It's got me concerned!!!!! Cases are rising by the minutes here in Georgia....Anybody else??????????

The breathing hard is what worries me, does he breath hard just when he cries or even when he's not crying? If he breaths hard even when he's not crying I'd try to get an emergency visit with his Dr if you can't do that I'd take him to the ER. May sound silly to go in cause his breathing is hard or cause his cry is weak but hell he's two weeks old! He can't communicate with you and you're not a Dr or mind reader! So they can just shut it.

She called me asking if I could go over and help her because she has been home alone and her husband is gone for work for a week. I asked her what she was sick with and she has rsv which is really contagious. And I don't wanna risk me and my baby. I'm almost 37 weeks. So I told her I can't because I don't want to risk it for me and my baby. And I've been trying to find someone that's nit pregnant that would be willing to.
