Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!

My 11 week has rsv .. He was full term .. Has any other mother had this in a infant ..

My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???

I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.

Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

From what I was told that if you baby wasn't premature or have a cardiac history then having RSV most likley is going to be mild. here is what you should loook for for worseing things, my son had it when he was 5 weeks old and he does have a cardiac issue so I hope your little one is healthy. look for bluish on the lops nail and nail bed. your little one really struggling to breathe if his nostrils are moving back and forth as well as him "sucking in " at his ribs.

you also might want to ask your cardiologist or primary doctor about if your little one should recieve the synagis vaccine. this is to help lesson the effects of RSV (this is a viral infection) most kids can fight it off, if they are healthy to begin with. i am not sure if your little one would qualify. I wouldn't see why not. this infection from what I was toldif it affects newborns who are premmeis have a heart condition, lung issues and a low immune system.

Then fever up to 104 and deydration the next took her to the ER they put her on IVs but could not find whats wrong. She has a history of RSV could this be what it is again. I dont know what o do?

How about you and your family? Did you experience a LOT fewer colds this year and flu? I guess it is masking and social distance (and that I take a cleaning wipe in everywhere I go so I don't touch anything) is preventing the normal cold and flu season. My little boy was born at 36 weeks and was in good health. His first year has been difficult. RSV. Milk protein allergies and eczema. Which pediatrician attributes to being early. He will be a year old on the 10th and he is off all medications and is slowly switching to plain old milk. Things will be fine. Being I. The hospital you will have the best care.

I would be really careful my daughter was a preemie and as soon as we got home she ended up back in the hospital with rsv because this is the time of year its out. And because she was so small she almost died and ended up in a childrens hospital for 5 weeks. It was horrible.

She is happy and in good spirits, so that part is good. But she is congested in her chest. I took her to the doctor today. They said her lungs sounded clear and gave her a decongestant, but I am still a bit nervous. Her cough just sounds so sad but she is eating pretty normally it seems and the doc said that is a good sign. She said of course if she gets worse or stops eating, etc., to take her to the ER. She isn't running a fever as of yet either.
