8101930 tn?1420001456 My son is 2 months and just received his first shots yesterday including the rotavirus vaccine. I noticed that after his shots and today he has been pooping yellow colored like normal but it is very chunky. He is exclusively breast fed and always has a little bit of a seedy stool but this is very chunky. I'm Just curious if anyone knows if this is normal or not. Could it be from the rotavirus vaccine because they do ingest it. Thanks.
Avatar n tn giardia is a zoonotic disease which means it is transferrable 2 humans!

212161 tn?1599427282 Most rabbit and deer parasites are species specific and would find your puppy an aberrant host and thus pass through your puppies digestive system with little to no problems. There are some parasites that are zoonotic, which means these parasites can infect any animal, including humans. If your puppy begins to have diarrhea or vomits or both, please have her stool checked by your veterinarian.
Avatar n tn I'm familiar with quite a few zoonotic diseases (things that can pass from animal to human) but after looking at a list of zoonoses, I don't see canine parvo on the list. Have you disinfected the areas where the dog was kept? I see that a bleach solution (1:30 ratio - 1 part bleach to 30 parts water) will be sufficient. We use something stronger at work but we're dealing with a lot of creepy critters.
Avatar f tn At 12 months, she began to fall of her growth curve. Shortly after her first birthday, she got rotavirus and became severely dehydrated. After 4 trips to the ER (they thought I only wanted a cure for the stomach flu), she was admitted for 5 days and closely monitored. She was 17.5 lbs at her 1 year check up, she lost 1 1/2 lbs from rotavirus at admittance and upon discharge she weighed 18 lbs. A pediatrician who is a specialist thought she had celiac disease but testing came back negative.
Avatar n tn ve been through these with my 2 1/2 year old and some of them can take a very long time to clear. One that pops into mind is rotavirus. Fevers do not necessarily always accompany a virus. He should see a Dr. Also, make sure he is staying well hydrated. Food is less important then fluids. Juices, pedialight, even milk. Dehydration is always the biggest concern. Is he energetic or listless? That too can tell you alot. If he is listless and weak, then he should be seen right away.
765439 tn?1292960414 Most zoonotic diseases that humans can get from dogs (or other animals) are intestinal and are transmitted by the humans handling contaminated feces. There are also skin parasites like mange mites, but you don't have to worry about these unless your dog has mange, and you would definitely know whether or not your dog had mange.
Avatar f tn s one poke on the foot then they usually do a hepatitis B shot then roughly ever 2 months the baby gets Dtap,Hib ,Polio,Pneumococcal, Rotavirus (hope i spelled them all right)but they can mix some together usually 2 pokes with the needle the babies get over it so fast
Avatar f tn So if you have a type that is viral such as one caused by norovirus or rotavirus you could have a contagious type or a bacterial one like Clostridium difficile, Salmonella or Shigella pr Ecoli that has a toxin (not all strains have it). So you need to find out which one by having the doctor do some lab tests or telling you which one you have. The main thing is washing your hands well after using the toilet.
Avatar f tn thank you Ghilly, id been doing lots of research myself cause my guys are like my kids and id hate for anything harmful to come to them. but yes, ive secured my trash after id found beni rooting through it. thank you again, i feel a bit more at ease that you found nothing but the bird strain as i did.
136689 tn?1419580447 she had rotavirus from birth but that is sorting it self out and has been putting on weight steadly so we are sort of hoping that the sweat test will come back negative do i have a glimmer of hope for a misdiagnoses?
1098760 tn?1266447897 Intestinal parasites like roundworm and hookworms have zoonotic potential and she is at a much higher risk for picking up these worms when she eats poop (copraphagy). Then, your family's health is at risk too as she can spread eggs into the environment and you and your kids can become infected. There are products that you can obtain through your veterinarian to help limit this behavior.
647911 tn?1373314647 I always assumed it (C. psittaci) was also zoonotic between cats and humans, but am glad to hear you say it is not. A friend of mine has a lot of cats, and they all seem to have chlamydia as a rite of passage when they are kittens. Good to hear they can't pass it to the humans they come into contact with.
Avatar m tn I did not do Rotavirus or Pc.
1770029 tn?1325802355 In children they can also get Rotavirus in the same manner. These viruses are seasonal like the flu and so are mistakenly called stomach flu or as a slang term. The Norovirus usually goes away in 2-3 days. You need to hydrate yourself perhaps with gatoraide. If you can eat have a banana or other food with potassium. Since you just have nausea it could be other things if you don't develop diarrhea. Food allergies, and other things can cause this too especially in the lack of fever.
Avatar f tn Other infectious pathogens, which also need to be included in the differential diagnoses, include Amebiasis, Shigellosis, Cytomegalovirus, and Rotavirus. Inflammatory diseases of the colon which can present as UC include Crohn’s disease, ischemic colitis, radiation colitis, eosinophilic colitis, colorectal cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and allergic reactions to medications such as mesalamine products, NSAIDs, and antibiotics.
377493 tn?1356502149 He did have a rather nasty bout of rotavirus and lost an awful lot of weight through that, but did not have to be hospitalized. My concern is this. He is now about to be 2. He has not yet caught up to normal. He has increased percentiles, but only to about the 8th. I know that most low birth weight babies do catch up, but read that it is usually by the time they are two. He is still small. 32 inches tall, and about 24 lbs.
Avatar f tn I didnt know were to ask about the iv drip ,my 3 yr old son was in hospital for rotavirus and was conected to an iv drip than i noticed that the bag of the water of the drip wasnt full im so woried that they may not have used a new one.
Avatar f tn So I have my baby already but I am begging you all do research on vaccines before your baby arrives. I have my 8 week old girl and she just got her first set of shots and she's very sick after them she's been crying like never before her eyes are in so much pain her body gets so stiff. She has pooped at least 2 times every day since birth now she hasn't pooped since the vaccine it's been 4 days!!!!
Avatar m tn My baby boy received the first and only dose of rotarix last friday(20/02/2009). He is having reddish rashes over his face and from today morning he had slight fever of 99 degrees F. In India immunisation schedule does not include Rotavirus & Pneumococcal. But due to doctor's insistence we agreed to give him the doses, although lately. Doctor is asking to give him one more Pneumocoaccal after baby attains 12 months age. My query is what is the reason behind this allergic reaction?
1346101 tn?1288051949 Causes of vomiting could arise from the gastrointestinal tract like acute gastritis caused by infections, helicobacter pylori and rotavirus, food poisoning by salmonella, E.coli, peptic ulcer disease and gastro esophageal reflux disease. Central causes are migraine headaches, meniere’s disease of the inner ear, heat exhaustion, head injury, pituitary adenomas. It can be seen in association with diseases like diabetes, hepatitis, gall bladder disease, pancreatitis, kidney stone or failure.
18642360 tn?1466557895 ve smoked since I was 13 and am a pretty regular (at times heavy) drinker. I work a job with animals and exposed to zoonotic diseases at time. I feel weak, and it feels like it's getting worse. But every doctor I've seen only addresses the issue they see and not all of the symptoms. I don't know where to go from here, but it's really starting to scare me.
Avatar n tn (name of clinic and doctor) Does he also have the Rotavirus vaccine? What do you think about how the vaccines are preserved? (electricity outages, etc.) What is the cost? Also, what do you think about going to the public hospital for some of the vaccines? (Pentavalente: diptheria, pertussis, etc.) We are in Jarabacoa, thank you so much for your help!!
Avatar m tn When puppies are vaccinated, they are vaccinated against dog diseases. Nothing that a dog or puppy gets shots for is zoonotic, meaning it cannot be passed from dogs to humans, so even if this puppy didn't have its shots, it couldn't give you anything that it would have been vaccinated against.
