ropinirole prescribing information

My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.

I have been taken Ropinirole for sometime now and it helps a little. As for sleep,I get very little of.

My RLS started over 20 years ago and has been really bad for about 15 years. Ropinirole, once I was put on it in 2007, was a Godsend and just about covers it as long as I don't miss a dose (currently 4 x daily starting at 10am) My consultant has now suggested trying Slow Mag (Slow release magnesium) in hopes that I can reduce the number of Ropinirole I have to take to be able to function normally.

Hi, Not sure about everyone else but I know that for me the restless legs is one of the worst symptoms. I told my doctor that I was struggling and he prescribed me Ropinirole tablets, one to take before bedtime. I took one last night and, fingers crossed, it seemed to work. Most of you are probably aware of this but for those who aren't, it might be worth a try.

My Pdoc prescribed a medication for me. Ropinirole. I've also read there is an over the counter medicine, Restless leg at Walmart. Hot baths with Epsom salts. Mine were so bad last time, I bought white medical tape & am going to try taping my legs up tight. This time I'm going off pain pills gradually,so maybe the restless legs won't be as bad. Just looking for anymore information or advise about withdraws from Fioricet / I have been taking this medication from years from Migrain headaches, it's seemed the longer I was on it the less it helped so I would increase my doses because I could not get rid of my headaches the other day I just stopped using it because it was like just this non stop headache.

I was dx with RLS after feeling like my legs had a mind of their own....ropinirole 2x a day.

I only recently learned that Ropinirole should be taken several hours before going to sleep. Made all the difference for me. I had been popping it 1/2 hr. before bedtime and wondering why it wasn't working. By taking it earlier, the sensations are gone before I get into bed. Idaho, Have you tried Ropinirole? Seems like your symptom is mainly pain, rather than restlessness, so I'm not sure if this will work. I have had pain, but not to the same degree. Worth a try, though.

The information you all have provided here is greatly appreciated and not to mention very informative. I'm working on learning everything I can to help two people actually. They're a couple so it's very hard. But I know there are problems with addiction for both of them. I figure the more knowledge I have the more prepared I will be. Early on I was diagnosed with primary paradoxical syndrome, but was negative at a later date...I take Midodrine, (rencently started) and gabapentin, baclofen, ropinirole which I have been on these 3 for years What is causing this is extreme sleepiness?? This information label was given to me by my GI to read and discuss regarding issues related to anger and depression and the potential for needing an AD sometime during trt. I would hope all doctors discuss this prior to trt, but this may not be the case. I'm also curious what "psychological evaluations" are being done.

So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night. I had some psychosis and was up all night long, but laying and I had the shakes at first but I'm actually proud I made it through the night without popping that pill. Took my medicine this morning and slept for about 5 hours and no psychosis, hallucinations or anything.
