20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
Avatar f tn That was 2 years ago and since then I have had a lot of stress and upset in my life. I have recently started with stabbing pains in my right breast again and for a few months now my joints, especially my lower back have been so painful. I have a new Dr who has read up on my condition tho and has said that there is a link between IGM and joint pain! However, he also thinks I have started early menopause too, so I'm now thinking that my IGM may flare up?
Avatar f tn Eat well. Pregnancy-related hair loss can be a symptom of a diet deficient in essential vitamins and nutrients. Make sure that you are eating a well-balanced diet, with plenty fruits and vegetables, and taking any vitamin supplements your doctor has prescribed. Avoid frequent hair washings, and refrain from over-styling your hair. You may even want to consider a short style until at least 6 months postpartum, when estrogen levels return to normal and hair loss is minimized.
Avatar n tn There could be, but I doubt it unless that was the cause of the infertility in the first place. Pregnancy is timing, health of the sperm, egg, etc then properly attaching in the uterus. You can have her up her calories, there was a study that showed male embryos needing a higher caloric intake to thrive and prevent miscarriage. Another is having too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. Progesterone is needed to sustain the pregnancy, low levels indicate impending miscarriage.
Avatar n tn what is the role of progesterone in invitro fertilization? I just had a transfer done 3 days ago. I have read that progesterone is not supposed to be given while pregnant or while trying to get pregnant, yet, my doctor has me injecting myself with 1 ml per day, plus vaginal inserts of endometrin four times per day. Is this normal procedure?
548091 tn?1348947013 those suppliments shouldnt have an effect on your estrogen levels, its more likely things like soy products, plastics etc, this sight has great info www.natural-fertility-info.
Avatar n tn Hormones like estrogen and progesterone may play a role in some people. Postmenopausal women are sometimes given progesterone, and have been observed developing melasma. If you aren’t pregnant, you likely have elevated levels of estrogen receptors found in your melasma lesions. Makeup (cosmetics): Some cosmetics can cause what’s called a phototoxic reaction.
Avatar f tn Last night I went to the bathroom and I had some stretchy,clear-ish stuff but had blood in it.  I had a miscarriage in late May, I started bleeding on the 24 til the first of June.  I spotted a few days after that but not much.  Within the first few days of bleeding I had passed everything.  On the 18 of June I went back to my doctor for blood work and my hormones were at zero, before that I went the 5 of June and they were at 100 something.
Avatar n tn i have been reading and i believe that estrogen plays a very important role in conceiving! am i wrong? do levels get higher throughout your cycle? has anyone had troubles conceiving with low levels? . can someone take estrogen supplements? we've been ttc for over three years and i have had the fertily workup done back then and there is no blockage in my tubes, or anything.
Avatar f tn The estrogen is kicking in with a vengeance and my poor husband has to just grin and bare it all. I think after this pregnancy he will think carefully before attempting to make number 2. Are you experiencing the same?
Avatar f tn Night sweats can be an effect of changing hormones and also happens when estrogen levels drop. But all of this is pretty dramatic and unlikely at your age and from just discontinuing breast feeding. What I'd do if I were you is to see your ob/gyn and get your blood drawn to check hormone levels. They can then determine if you really are low estrogen.
1142929 tn?1271622835 Did they ever diagnose those infections definitively or were they just slapping a prescription on a symptom? Estrogen does play a role in discharge, are you at a point of life when estrogen begins to go down? Rawness in the genital area can be an irritation without being an infection, for example, if someone has a reaction to laundry detergent or perfumes used in skin cream or soap.
Avatar m tn All I know is that after you get pregnant you can use an ovulation monitor as a pregnancy test since it can tell an increase just like when you ovulate. I'm not sure how soon after ovulation it works though.
Avatar n tn It turned out that I had not ovulated those months which was part of the cause of my infertility. So yes a low FSH level is good but if the estrogen is high, it could mean you didn't ovulate and you have a leftover active follicle producing estrogen. Good luck.
Avatar f tn From what I've read this hormonal medication is not a contraceptive so you can get pregnant while taking it. If you do get pregnant, you should stop taking it. Hormonal medications can cause melasma in some women. As far as the receding hairline, it's not unusual to lose some hair when ovarian hormones switch from their reproductive role to their menopausal role / level of hormones. Taking hormones seems to help some women's hair but not others.
Avatar f tn Also, if you have Pinterest, you can just type in fit or healthy (ect.) pregnancy and you will get more results than you could have imagined. I love using Pinterest!

Avatar f tn Vitamin D also appears to play a role in how estrogen acts in the uterus, particularly in regard to development of the lining. In fact when vitamin D levels are low, your uterus may not develop a lining sufficient enough to hold on to your embryo – which in turn frequently leads to very early stage miscarriage. In fact, vitamin D is now considered such an important fertility nutrient, one group of Yale researchers devoted an entire study to learning what happens when levels decline.
Avatar f tn I haven't got my testing done yet but I'm probably around 3 weeks. I stopped taking birth control in October and haven't had a regular period sense, I think I had a false pregnancy or miscarriage 3 1/2weeks ago. I've had unprotected sex sense the day after and have felt completely pregnant even more than before and progressively more the last few days. We are hoping pregnant and I honestly feel it so much.
Avatar n tn It is advised and easy to test your body’s 2/16 estrogen metabolite ratio in order to see if you are in need of further hormone balance. A ratio of less than 2.0 indicates the need for support for estrogen metabolism.
3210905 tn?1345679491 Hello, Gastritis, fluctuation in estrogen levels, heartburn, postnasal drip, dental caries, tooth abscess are few other causes of metallic taste in mouth. Intake of medications like metronidazole, blood pressure medications, and thyroid medications all can lead to this symptom apart from the causes mentioned by you. The associated symptoms may help in arriving at a diagnosis. Seek medical help. Take care and regards!

Avatar f tn Or is high FSH a factor in even getting pregnant at all? Not knowing my FSH at the time of my pregnancy, I am not sure where I really stand fertility wise at this point with being able to get pregnant again and if I did, my chances of having a healthy pregnancy and child. Is stress adding to the high levels? All of this is so overwhelming. Any advice?
