Ritalin with lexapro

Common Questions and Answers about Ritalin with lexapro

ritalin

Avatar n tn I'm going to second greenlydia here. Ritalin is a very heavy drug, and one that has been very overprescribed, yet it doesn't appear you've been diagnosed with what ritalin is intended to treat. What's the cause of your inability to focus? And you say it's your great downfall, but I bet the panic attacks were a whole lot worse! My own suggestion would be to try non-medicinal approaches first, since you're already taking one heavy drug, Lexapro.
Avatar f tn I asked my doctor about adderol, but he said he wasn't comfortable switching my meds and put me on lexapro to handle the side effects.. I wasn't completely honest with the amount I was taking though. And I think my pictures are coming up now? I can see at least one that I posted.
351317 tn?1204751871 I have ADD and moderate/major depression and was wondering if there are others out there with these problems and if so what medications are you taking that help. Ritalin makes me nuts but adderall worked for me better with a little less side effects. Still stimulants makes my already high anxiety worse but still I do think I need them. Is there some kind of balance with other meds that would allow me to take stimulants without feeling so anxious?
Avatar f tn Headache on left front side with a crazy visual aura, took zomig, hour later took ibuprofen 600, albuterol sulfate and Ritalin. Cold and hot feeling across skin, mostly on right side, nausea, joint pain, burning pain in abdomen and chest, dizzy, tired and short of breath. Migrating sharp pains across body. Ringing ears. Vision is unnaturally blurry. Chest and stomach symptoms worsen when laying down, head symptoms worsen when standing up.
Avatar f tn if he has ADD he should be taking aderral not ritalin. Ritalin is for ADHD, that is supposed to calm him down so the person is not always hyper. Aderral should help with the concentration problems.
Avatar m tn t have any personal experience with Lexapro, however, with those reactions, you were wise to discontinue it. Your situation is somewhat complicated by the fact you are taking so many different meds... As far as a different Ad is concerned: you need to ask your doctor to try you on something different. Make an appt. to talk with him/her. We really can't suggest anything. Also, you can discuss your libido issues at that time. Try not to be scared and just meet this problem head on.

Avatar n tn You can Google these names and research the various types of these medications available. Anyway, I am of the opinion that some of the issues that you are having with the Ritalin are related to the dosage being too high and maybe there is a better medicine.

11487567 tn?1418754128 My daughter was prescribed zoloft (sertraline) 25 mg, celexa 10 mg, and lexapro 5 mg to take all together. When picking up her prescription, the pharmacist questioned the prescribing doctors mix saying that taking all three could cause serotonin syndrome. My daughter started out on the zoloft at half dose for a week, then went to 25 mg, then added celexa and lexapro a few weeks later. She is now at week 16 but seems to be doing fine except for she can't get rid of a flu.

Im so proud of him and hes come so far.

3144915 tn?1343061774 Also docs always start low on ritalin and then work up the dose if needed. Ritalin is a good med. It should really help you with a lot of your symptoms. It may be that the dose also needs to be adjusted upward - so another good reason to talk to your doc. Hopefully it is the same one! Is it? I know one or two adult ADHD sites. I'll look them up and send them to you. They contain a lot of helpful suggestions.
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year-old female very newly diagnosed with ADHD. My doc started me on dexedrine 5mg twice a day to start off for now. Is aybody familiar with this medication? It seems like everyone is on newer name brand meds.
Avatar f tn Im 25 and i was diagnosed with Adult Adhd just over 2 years ago, i was put on to Ritalin right from the start, altho it has so many side effects, i get on with it pretty ok.
Avatar f tn but doesnt seem to be helping too much... has anybody else develoiped sinus with lexapro, and any suggestions how to treat it? many thanks.
Avatar f tn For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall. He still will NOT increase the Ritalin dosage.
