Avatar f tn Why Ritalin, a medication that has side effects? I would suggest you try ginko biloba, a natural supplement that has been widely studied and has no side effects. I was once on a study with this herb for two years. There is absolutely no doubt as to its efficacy.

Avatar m tn One of the side effects of Ritalin is paresthesia, probably because of circulation problems to the extremities. This made me think that Ritalin also reduced blood flow to other parts of the body, possible the brain. This idea alarmed me, and made me search PubMed frantically. Here are a few studies I found: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1992832 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.

711158 tn?1229544700 To best try and answer some of your questions, we need to know what blood tests for thyroid have been run and what were the actual results. If free T3 and free T4 have not been run, along with the usual TSH, then that would be a good idea to have done. I have no experience with BP being affected by thyroid, so I'll leave that for other members.

Avatar f tn My doc gave me Ritalin for ADD and Effexor for depression but this last one gave me too many side effects and I stopped taking it. Now he switched me to Wellbutrin (150 mg once a day) and 30 mg Ritalin. I have felt sick but am not sure if it is the withdrawal effects from stopping Effexor or the mixture of Wellbutrin and Ritalin. I feel brain spasms, especially in the back of my head. Today I did not take the Ritalin and felt no spasms.
351317 tn?1204751871 Your problem probably originates from combination of Ritalin, which has "tics" (muscular spasms) among its side effects. Caffeine is just another stimulant. What do you think about dropping caffeine totally?
Avatar n tn you could try different forms of Methylphenidate in slow release to withdraw, ease symptoms, and reduce side effects.
Avatar m tn My son is 7 and has been on Concerta for over a year now. He started with 18MG which worked great. No side effects and had a wonderful experience at school. This year his dosage was increased to 27MG and now I've started to notice a tic I guess is what you call it. I was searching the web and came across other post because I was wondering if it had something to do with his medication. His tic is he wiggles his fingers, he does it and he doesn't even realize it.
Avatar n tn Im 25 and i was diagnosed with Adult Adhd just over 2 years ago, i was put on to Ritalin right from the start, altho it has so many side effects, i get on with it pretty ok.
Avatar n tn You may find that Florinef or Midodrine do more to alleviate your symptoms. That being said, I take Ritalin every four hours. As for the effects wearing off throughout the course of treatment, I've been told that taking a two week break every year can sort of "reset" your system. I've yet to do that myself, but may sometime in the near future. As for implantable devices, the usefulness of a pacemaker in Dysautonomia is an ongoing debate amount specialists.

Avatar f tn I asked my doctor about adderol, but he said he wasn't comfortable switching my meds and put me on lexapro to handle the side effects.. I wasn't completely honest with the amount I was taking though. And I think my pictures are coming up now? I can see at least one that I posted.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 19 years old and just got diagnosed, as one would say, with ADD/ADHD rather recently. I was given a prescription for Concerta 36mg to be taken daily. This is the third week taking it and I have been noticing some odd side effects. On days when I take it in the morning and don't eat I feel nauseous and generally off, which I was warned about prior so it doesn't worry me as much. However, I have also noticed quite a difference in my mood.
Avatar f tn ve got a good link (if I can find it) on what happens if you treat the seratonin side stronger then the norepinephrine side and the effects. Got a feeling that this may be what is going on with you. Did you always have trouble sleeping and anxiety - or did it get worse with the different meds?
