Ritalin recreational dose

Common Questions and Answers about Ritalin recreational dose

ritalin

Avatar m tn 30 and slept soundly. I woke up wired at 6:30am. This wired effect continued all day until around 7pm (20 hours). I recognized the feeling as the same hard to describe feeling I got when I took Ritalin as a very young boy, 35 years ago. It's a very jittery feeling that keeps me moving. For the first time in quite awhile I stayed awake all day, even during evening TV time (the family took notice). This medication doesn't seem to have any active ingredients that should cause this.
Avatar m tn Could be the dose has become too high for you and should be adjusted. Just how long have you been on this dose level, and what is the dose level?
Avatar f tn For example, do they tend to happen as the dose is wearing off and right before another dose, or do they tend to happen when the ritalin is at its strongest (about an hour after taking the medication)? There's something called a "rebound effect" where the child goes from having too much ritalin in his system to too little ritalin, and the behavior bounces around accordingly. In general, what was his behavior like before Ritalin?
Avatar f tn sorry i have no experience with ritalin like that sorry but u r def in rite place just giv it alil time for people to respond its kinda late but im sure help will be on the way. do u go thru physical withdrawls when u dont hev em or just mental???
Avatar n tn Does anyone else think ritalin is the devil? I was taking 120mg / day and it did nothing but make me sleep. I couldn't function on the stuff. Missed work and everything else. Anyone else had this kind of effect from taking ritalin / methylin / methylphenidate?
Avatar f tn My dr has just decided to put me on ritalin, after trying many many other drugs plus ect, for my treatment resistant depression. My question is how quickly will I know if it works? Do I get immediate benefits from it or is it a gradual approach? For example, if I take a tablet at 9am, do I feel more energetic for that morning and then wears off by bedtime? I hope I'm making sence! Thank you for your help.
429700 tn?1308007823 This year I ended up with an insurance which covers generic Ritalin but not generic Adderall. Experts say the equivalent dose would be double the dose of Adderall, but my doctor would only give me 20 mg three times a day. That is the PDR maximum. It works, but at this dose is less effective than the Adderall. If I could choose the dose, I would go with 80 or 100 mg a day. Fortunately, I am not addiction prone with uncontrollable cravings.
Avatar f tn Got a new dr i love him he is older guy..he thinks i need to up my prozac..the other dr had me playhing around with it and i was on 30 mg..this dr wants me to go up 10 mg a week till i reach 60...i dont know about that..he switched my adderall to ritalin for my refractory depression and i toook 2nd pill thsi morning but im afraif im gonna be allegic to it,u all know my fears..i alos haved somazation syndrome and hyperchrodriac..which this dr told me are 2 differnet things..
Avatar n tn My daughter is 5 1/2. My doctor had put her on a low dose of generic ritalin just to make a diagnosis. It has helped tremendously until recently she has started to show symptoms again. So he put her on adderal xr so she was getting the extended release and only had to take it once a day. It is working, but not as well...we are noticing behavioral outbursts like she had prior to treatment, however they are not as severe. I really want this medication to work.
14631020 tn?1436545476 My neuro put me on Ritalin for this bone crushing fatigue a week ago. I realize some medicines take a while to get into your system before they actually work and some medicines are fast acting and you get immediate results. The Ritalin has made me slightly more mentally aware, but I am still bone tired. Should I give it more time or call him and tell him it isn't working?
Avatar m tn I defenitly notice that light is more bright after my second dose of Ritalin. In the morning when my eyes are dropped with Atropine and I have taken my first dose, I only notice bright light cause of the Atropine. But when I've taken my second dose of Ritalin I notice the light is much more brighter after 20-30 minutes, which will last till late night. Although I still have some questions, cause will Cyclogyl dilate the pupil larger then Atropine?
Avatar f tn My name is Bob, and I have had ADHD as long as I have lived. I have taken Ritalin for most of my life, but my doctor recently switched my to Vyvanse. Because I had some Ritalin left, I tried it at the same time as the Vyvanse. It worked perfectly. The problem is that the DEA are quite strict, and they don't think that is cool, apparently. Some doctors, however, are fine with writing prescriptions for two ADHD drugs; I just have to find out who they are.
Avatar n tn If it does not, it would be an indication that the dose is too low. Before trying the Ritalin in the morning, I would talk with your doc about increasing the V one more time. And yes, you are right that Ritalin is faster working. So it might be worth trying to see how he responds to that. And some people just do better on R anyway. If he does not respond to the R in 15 to 20 min. It may be that he is what Dr. Parker calls a slow metabolizer. See more about that here - http://www.
356518 tn?1322263642 Concerta is great... It is as close as you can get to ritalin and it not have the bad effects like ritalin. Maybe you should try it. It is expensive though. the 27mg dose is like 100 CDN a month. But works well.
Avatar n tn I've been on Ritalin for about three years now. I've noticed that if I forget to take it, I get really, really anxious, almost paranoid and I also feel exhausted. And for the past maybe three months, I've noticed that later on in the day, I start feeling like I haven't taken it at all. I have never, ever, ever taken Ritalin to stay up all night or crushed it and snorted it or anything. Is this withdrawal? Can I be dependent on Ritalin even if I always took it as directed?
704043 tn?1298056844 t last as long as Provigil. I took 10 mg of Ritalin twice a day (a small dose), though only on days that I needed it. Had no side effects (except for the fast typing and cheerfulness thing). Good luck!
Avatar n tn Dear Dr. Kennedy, My teenage son , who has high functioning autism, has much better control over his hyper, inappropriate social behavior when he takes ritalin. Over the past 10 years, we have tried all types of stimulants, including long lasting, but recently made a full circle back to regular ritalin-- two 20mg doses a day. The problem is that after the second dose wears off, more doesn't work--it just causes anxiety. What could we use after 4:00pm to keep him calm without dulling him?
889551 tn?1416184483 Hi! I was diagnosed with ADD recently and I'm waiting to get back in to see my psychiatrist. My last office visit we spoke about the possible medications I could choose from if I completed ADD testing with another Psych. He mentioned Strattera (but he said he didn't feel that it worked), Adderall, and Ritalin. I'm currently on abilify and wellbutrin for depression and these meds, along with adderall and ritalin lower the seizure threshold.
636964 tn?1222990085 My husband recently decided that he had ADD so he went to his doctor and got prescribed Ritalin. Ever since he's been on it, he's been a zombie and emotionless. We barely make love anymore and he's also very sensative about things. Now I've heard that sometimes if you really don't have ADD, the medication will affect you different then for someone who really has it. I've discussed this problem several times with my husband but nothing has changed.
Avatar m tn However any new drug I get given knocks me and when I sometimes take my last dose of Ritalin my eyes start vibrating, all my muscles go tight and my eyes vibrate. This seems so unfair. Does this mean my body will eventually reject all meds. Please tell me this is not so. I am so happy on my medication.
Avatar n tn 00 P.M he take .5 clonidine and 10 of Ritalin. At bedtime he takes .5 of clonidine and 10 of Abilify. Most evenings he is so tired he wants to go to bed by 7:00 or 7:30. Can this be a result of all of this medication?
Avatar f tn Today I did not take the Ritalin and felt no spasms. On the other hand, my doc told me to take the Ritalin constantly. I tried to take it only when I needed to concentrate at work and not on days I donĀ“t have to work. He told me it is not good to interrupt intake like that. I am very interested in knowing your experience with Adderal and Wellbutrin. Did your doctor check your clinical history to be sure that there is no high risk of seizures?
Avatar n tn I do agree that the last time we went to the dr. he placed him on too high a dose of Ritalin. Studies show that for his size he should take 25 mg of Ritalin a day but no more than 50 mg a day. He is currently prescribed 55 mg a day. We see the pediatrician again soon and will most likely be seeing a psychologist after that. Thank you for your input.
Avatar n tn I too was taking Ritalin for ADHD about 15 years ago . It worked for awhile then it started to make me anxious and paranoid . I was taking 20mgs three times a day . When I called my UCLA doctor from the adult ADHD clinic on campus he at first just cut my dose . Turn the clock ahead about two weeks . I was still not doing well on it so I had him paged on the weekend and when he called me back he sounded quite annoyed and told me just to stop ! Big mistake !
Avatar n tn I have talked to their dr but he assures me this will pass. The 6 year old is extremly emotional while on it, I cut their dose to half of what the dr said and they still are not right. Any suggestions? I asked for strattara and dr says it will not work for them.
