Has anyone had severe anxiety and stomach ache as a side effect of resperidone ???

Since then we found out that Risperidone is know for side effects such as tardive dyskinesia. We are seriously concerned now. Will this be permanent ? What is the best way to examine this problem ? Thanks for any suggestions !

I am in full blown withdrawal symptoms from stopping risperidone with anxiety and my psychiatrist is back 5 days later.I had to stop because of side effects at 1 mg.What should I do?

Also, this medication is recommended to be initially dosed at 1mg bid (TWICE A DAY) with incremental increases of 1mg bid on days 2 and 3 to a dose of 3 mg bid on day 3. (This would be a total of 6mg per day) If you have been on risperidone for three weeks and you're still on the starting dose, you need to ask your doctor why he is keeping you at the level.

s well known that it causes extra pyramidal effect that is one of the side effects of risperidone, but about tardive dyskinia if you meant by TD, I think antipsychotics at this dose have to be taken for a long time.

It has many side effects and there are other meds that can work as well. Do take a look at the many side effects of Risperidone. I do not know your daughters age, but it is not recommended below certain age levels. Hopefully this is a psychiatrist that prescribed this med. and not a general md? I can confidently state from experience that Risperidone use is associated with significant insomnia and anxiety(my personal opinion).This is one med I wont ever take again.

My Doctor just switch my medication from 150 mg of Effexor XR to 400 mg of Seroquel XR. I dropped my dosage of Effexor gradually but I still experienced terrible withdrawl. Now I am experiencing bad side effects, " I'm guessing ths", from the Seroquel. I have gained weight in my stomach area very rapidly, I have pain and stiffness in my legs, 24 hour dry mouth and sinuses and I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat.

How do you manage withstand side effects of both Risperidone and Seroquel.I found even 1mg of Risperidone made me edgy,nervous and anxious.My hypomanic episode resolved in July and my Pdoc was a month late in tapering Risperidone.He started tapering process in September.In future I shall keep far away from these antipsychotics as possible.A most distasteful experience.

5 mg over 2 weeks yet I am having these anxiety symptoms which I did not have prior to starting Risperidone which was started for a manic/hypomanic episode in July.I am Ok and am on Tegretol as a mood stabilizer and encountered plenty of side effects from Risperdal like lethargy,dullness so He decided to take it off me.I wonder how long this will go on.I wonder how long this will go on.Hope it stops earlier than 2 weeks as you suggested.

my son was treated for an acute anxiety attack in his university ER with risperdal 4 days ago. he has not been the same ever since. he has had all of the classic signs of toxicity from this drug. he was treated in our local ER (2 days later) with benedryl and adavan and he seemed fine following the treatment. but the dystonic reactions, disorganized thinking, anxiety, all symptoms continue.

I took a pill of benzo and it stopped so he said it could be anxiety. I am very aware of the side effects of what i am taking but many if not all the drugs do too. I don't think it's a side effect of the abilify being an antipsychotic as well because for you it can't happen overnight contrary to me who has been on risperidone 1mg for 6 years now. So i gather it may be anxiety i suppose like what your pharmacist said.

ve read the side effects of Tardive Dyskinesia can be irreversable I want to discontinue the Risperdal ASAP!!! I have cut his dose in half but I'm wondering with an antipsychotic drug if I can stop "cold turkey" or will it do my son more harm that way rather than weaning him off. He also takes Citalopram (celexa) 40mg per day. Any help would be appreciated.

I read it is okay but to watch for neonatal side effects, which are quite scary and seem traumitising for the child. If I get my citalopram perscription reduced will it still have neo natal effects on our baby?

Is there any way possible to cut the hunger side-effects? Or any tips to battle the nausea that it causes? Before this whole medicine nonsense was happening, I was trying to lose weight (safely!) and this hunger pain and headaches are making this goal really difficult. And the nausea is making day to day tasks harder than the depression was making things. And this is the last round of questions, promise! Its about the Citalopram/Celexa. There is a suit going against Celexa.

I started on Abilify for my Bi Polar 2 weeks ago. After 2 days I had to halve the dose, as the side effects were so debilatating (?), but the side effects are still horrendous. I have no ability to concentrate, problems focussing, shake/tremors and no energy at all. The only good thing is that my moods seem better than they have in ages.
