risperdal recommended dosage

I was recently taking off Risperdal I tapered like every other day for 3 days,is this enough taper would i have withdrawal,i know in the past they have just stopped me off it,,is it a drug that needs taperred,,i was on 1/2 mg since sept 13 08

I been taking risperdal for 6 days at 0.5mg per day I suddenly stop takin it for 3 days I had no effert Docter said to me today I don't have to take it !! Is that safe to come off it 0.

Her geriatrician stopped all her meds including those for Alzheimers to stabilize her liver. Once her Liver stabilized, the doctor introduced Risperdal stating that it is less liver antagonistic. my son was treated for an acute anxiety attack in his university ER with risperdal 4 days ago. he has not been the same ever since. he has had all of the classic signs of toxicity from this drug. he was treated in our local ER (2 days later) with benedryl and adavan and he seemed fine following the treatment. but the dystonic reactions, disorganized thinking, anxiety, all symptoms continue.

Well it depends. Risperdal is an antipsychotic and it is effective in treating psychosis. Asperger's is a developmental disability and thus doesn't specifically respond to antipsychotics. What is the Risperdal specifically being used for? Also there is a community specifically for Asperger's.

I can tell you that I take Risperdal. Risperdal is an antiphycotic and is especially recommended for treatment of anger. I want to attend management class as it scares me to see how quick and intense my anger can come on and also because I am afraid I will hurtr someone...it is scary. The Risperdal does help. After getting off the clinic, I self medicated to Risperidone(Risperdal), Clonazepam (Rivotril) and Mirtazapine (Remeron) at recommended dosage (And Zuclopentixol (Clopixol) injection) and feel good, and developed social skills, and social anxiety is less. I responded relatively well to Risperdal. It is rare although not unknown that it can cause any form of heart arrythmia (this can happen with all the atypicals) but if you mean lowering blood pressure that is different and that can happen with all antipsychotics and is generally of less concern. Orthostatic hypertension (having difficulty when suddenly standing) can happen with all antipsychotics for example.

My stomach hurts and I have to use the bathroom (diarrhea) a lot. I have pelvic pain and my ribs started hurting really bad this morning. I've been dizzy after eating and nauseous in the morning after brushing my teeth. These symptoms are sporadic though I don't get them all the time. This has been goin on for four days (except the ribs just starts this morning) also I feel a little sick after eating and drinking.

Did you change whether you took it with food or not? I don't know about risperdal specifically, but some meds can make you more nauseous when taken without food. Side effects usually crop up quickly, though, so it could be something else.
