should the 2mg dose of Risperdal taken am or pm? Problem with falling asleep. Other meds, 600 mg Lithium 2x a day and 1000 Depakote 2 times a day.

I was put on Risperdal 1/2 mg in sept 13 08,recently (last week stopped it ) had to me slighty taper,Im wondering if yoou really neeed to taper,Im not bipolar I have depression and anxiety and was put on Risperdal for racing thoughts,Does any one or has anyone ever just stopped Risperdal without tapering,,my pharmisist said its not nesa sarry byt i dont realy know for sure,i think sometimes he just tells me what he thinks i want to hear,,,,THanks

Well doctor gave me 2mg risperdal. At the beginning i was ok. When i start to worry little bit i started to get ill. I was disable to concentrate on my work. Later i took seroquel 300mg which i took in past and found some freshness. I was smooth on seroquel but when doctor start changing medicine from seroquel to risperdal , slowly disaster begin on my life. I miss 2 jobs. Which was so easy. Later i took the seroquel back i felt some relief now.

I took risperidone (risperdal) off and on for many years. It helped calm down my irritation, anger and psychotic symptoms--hallucinations and delusions. I started on a small dose 1 mg then 2mg. I climbed to 6 mg until my prolactin level went way past 1000, and my gynecologist went up in arms about it because it completely stopped my menstruation. It got lowered to 4 mg.

My roommate has been going on a psychotic episode for 4 weeks now. She was a functioning meth and marijuana user and didn't show any signs of psychosis until recently. Around the new year, she quit using meth for about 2 weeks. She then started using again, but not that much; maybe a couple times in a day or when she was tired. My stomach hurts and I have to use the bathroom (diarrhea) a lot. I have pelvic pain and my ribs started hurting really bad this morning. I've been dizzy after eating and nauseous in the morning after brushing my teeth. These symptoms are sporadic though I don't get them all the time. My 10 year old daughter is suffering from PTSD, the Psychiatrist that she is seeing has her on 4 different medicines. These medicines are Prozac 20mg, Kapvay .2mg, Risperdal .5mg, and Imipramine. My question is first is this safe to mix and second what side effects could this mixture cause?

Little history, so I was diagnosed with ptsd, bipolar, and anxiety with agoraphobia. My pcp gave me risperidone 2mg and hydroyzine 25mg (3 times daily or as needed). I told my psych I didn't want the risperidone because of already existing obesity issues and I told her the hydroy was just drying out my nose and making me feel like I had a sinus infection all the time. So she gives me ativan 0.5mg (one a day), Prazosin 2 ( 1 @ night).

He is doing quite well except for having to be hospitalized for a minor surgery and a temp, which during this time the depakote and risperdone were held for three days. It brings on severe anxiety that grows into a panic attack. I take 200mg of Zoloft and 2mg risperdal and Ativan twice daily as needed. The Ativan stops all these in it's tracks when it starts to come on. I take my dose and get busy doing something to change my thought pattern. I hope this helps in some way.

I just started Invegra 3mg daily which is the new drug in lieu of Risperdal so I will be curious as to how it works. Supposedly, it is just like Risperdal but much more tolerated with less side effects. Maybe something to ask your doc about although I cant comment on personal usage as of yet since it is so new for me.

First of all, my periods which had stopped shortly after starting Risperdal returned and my breasts which were producing milk dried up but now I suffer from insomnia.
