Hi, I had been on Risperdal for about 15 months and I recently stopped taking Risperdal. First of all, my periods which had stopped shortly after starting Risperdal returned and my breasts which were producing milk dried up but now I suffer from insomnia. I sometimes get only 1 1/2 hours of sleep a night. Will this go away on its own?

Does anyone have experience with Risperdal and Vyvance? The patient is a three and a half year old male diagnosed with ADHD and ODD. The ODD is definitely more of an issue than the ADHD. Medication is being considered. What are some of the pros and cons of these two drugs? Which would likely be better at controlling the ODD?
my wife just passed away i have a 4 month old i do not want to do formal, i heard somewhere if a man stimulated his breast on a tight schedule he will be able to breast feed i am hoping this is true i have already started so far i have gotten a clear sweet liquid coming out of my breasts, not enough to satify a growing baby, if i can help out at all i'm gonna do my best even if it kills me.

I would like to know what would be a good allergy medicine that can be taken with risperdal. I have given my son benadryal in the past and he would become calm but since the risperdal he gets very hyper and stays up all night. My son has seasonal allergies. He called his doctor to ask about pain he was having in his breasts and was sent for blood work. The results were whatever that enzyme is that is increased to cause one to lactate ..can't remember exactly the terms..but was extremely high. So he was not to take the Risperidal anymore.

She's 42 years old and hasn't had sexual intercourse since late November 2008. She had some blood work done and they said she had high HCG levels and she just noticed today that she has milk coming out of her breasts. She's gained a whole cup size and figured that was weird for her but she can't be pregnant otherwise she'd be way overdue.
I just started Invegra 3mg daily which is the new drug in lieu of Risperdal so I will be curious as to how it works. Supposedly, it is just like Risperdal but much more tolerated with less side effects. Maybe something to ask your doc about although I cant comment on personal usage as of yet since it is so new for me.
Thank you for your response to my question, I forgot to put in there that the risperdal was the first of a line of medications, every time we see the doctor and I say something new then he trys additional meds like he has my child on clonidine,he tried tenex,atterall,focalin and now the newest one is congentin due to a twitch my child has developed about a month ago when he first started on the tenex.
After taking risperdal over 248mg in total over 7 weeks my penis shrinked rapidly at first I did not know what it was but slowly began to realize its from prolactin in the drug
Will this recover I took some ability which decreases prolactin it made my penis feel better but its still a lot less in length then before

I am on risperdal and I was wondering what the possible side effects are of smoking marijuana while on this medication.
Okay, let me ask this a different way? I want to get off the saphris because of the side effects but am afraid of being suicidal again. I'd heard Risperdal is used as a "booster" med for people being on anti-depressants. I take 40mg citalopram (generic version of celexa) and 225 mg Venlafaxine (for effexor) each day, then went to 5mg saphris in am and bedtime. I wondered about using Risperdal hoping not to have the same side effects.
We have used Risperdal with our 12 year old son in the past, 2nd and 3rd grade, but due to weight gain he had to be taken off it. We had major problems with sleep so when he went off the meds he went back to not sleeping. Then we found Melatonin, it is a god sent. It is a natural supplement that has helped a lot of children with atuism and other disorders that effect sleeping. As for the agression we have tried behavioral programs that help with it.

I was recently taking off Risperdal I tapered like every other day for 3 days,is this enough taper would i have withdrawal,i know in the past they have just stopped me off it,,is it a drug that needs taperred,,i was on 1/2 mg since sept 13 08
I was put on Risperdal 1/2 mg in sept 13 08,recently (last week stopped it ) had to me slighty taper,Im wondering if yoou really neeed to taper,Im not bipolar I have depression and anxiety and was put on Risperdal for racing thoughts,Does any one or has anyone ever just stopped Risperdal without tapering,,my pharmisist said its not nesa sarry byt i dont realy know for sure,i think sometimes he just tells me what he thinks i want to hear,,,,THanks
He still gets shor tempered on the risperdal and tenex and prozac. We have upped all the amounts except the risperdal is still at 2 mg a day. He was much better in the beginning. He takes 3 mg of tenex, 2 mg of risperdal and 10 mg of prozac. He still is impulsive and gets into arguments. It seems to be an ongoing problem to adjust his meds. We see the psychaitrist monthly. He has been on other meds and they either made him worse or stopped working.
How in the world would risperdal help someone that has anxiety alrdy and then stopped using opiates and got double anxiety help.
I was taking risperdal for 6 month (4MG) and stopped "cold turkey" as the doctor suggested. now for 2 month i am having insomnia. can not sleep more then 3 hours per night.
What can i do and how long should it take to get my normal sleep? how long the insomnia last?
