I asked my pdoc the same thing and he said that it may be because I am so stressed out all of the time. Another thing that could make you notice a lot of hair loss in the shower is if you dont brush your hair regularly or take showers frequently. I'm not saying that you are dirty.

Okay, let me ask this a different way? I want to get off the saphris because of the side effects but am afraid of being suicidal again. I'd heard Risperdal is used as a "booster" med for people being on anti-depressants. I take 40mg citalopram (generic version of celexa) and 225 mg Venlafaxine (for effexor) each day, then went to 5mg saphris in am and bedtime. I wondered about using Risperdal hoping not to have the same side effects.

I took respirdal a while ago for perceptual distortions. It was helpful for them but it made me feel way too slow. I was not even taking that much. But I'm not schizophrenic so that's probably why. I didn't experience those side effects you were describing. I was really tired all the time though. I never slept so good in my life. One time I had dystonia from taking compazine for about 3 days. I woke up and felt stiff at first.

Most people switch to Wellbutrin but another very good choice is ask your doctor about prozac..it works well and there is no weight gain or sexual interest loss.

My 3 year old son has been diagnosed with ODD and has been put on risperdal but he is still very violent towards my 11 month old daughter, myself and my mum. My mom's medication regeime has had risperdal added to it. She is alteady on zoloff and the standards for alzeheimer's including namenda. Since putting her on the risperdal she sleeps all the time, has had a to be restarted on blodd pressure medication and seems to be losing her mtor skills. I am very concened about these changes and wonder if the risperdal is the right dosage or medicine.

Well i got unwell only by taking seroquel then i started to take risperdal. I scare with risperdal. Well i have past 1 year experience of risperadal. According to my experience it made me hard at first and at the end, i got energy less, and sexual problem. Frankly i didnot enjoy even masturbation and sperm even didnot come. But doctor told you have to take this medicine for long time seroquel is not good.

I just started Invegra 3mg daily which is the new drug in lieu of Risperdal so I will be curious as to how it works. Supposedly, it is just like Risperdal but much more tolerated with less side effects. Maybe something to ask your doc about although I cant comment on personal usage as of yet since it is so new for me.

Low iron levels can cause hair loss. You might want to get that checked.

I'm losing hair too. Not in clumps but I clog the drain once a week from my hair loss. And all my friends said their hair was so full and healthy during pregnancy and after lost some. I get a ball of hair during evey wash and its not normal for me also my scalp itches like crazy and I don't have bugs lol o had my husband check lol!

My hair didn't grow hardly at all during Tx, than about 6 weeks post Tx it really started falling out, probably lost 50%. Everyone says it should grow back fine after 6 months post Tx. But, every few years my thyroid just burns out, and I go hypo. When I do I experience extreme hair loss and brittle nails. For me, the animal based thyroid substitutes work much better when I'm in a hypo phase. Additionally, sometimes when I am not hypo, the medication I take for my Graves' just knocks down my T4/T3 levels so low that once again I start to lose a lot of hair.
