How in the world would risperdal help someone that has anxiety alrdy and then stopped using opiates and got double anxiety help.
t mean that the syptoms of adhd will improve with risperdal. Risperdal seems to help with aggressive behavior and behavior problems in general and likely communication. with kids on the spectrum. It seems to help with irritability and aggressiveness. Because of this, some doctors may use it for adhd if that is how a person presents.
Now with regards to tics. My son has tics. He has two types. Simple vocal tics which are a hum or throat clearing sound.
I was put on Risperdal 1/2 mg in sept 13 08,recently (last week stopped it ) had to me slighty taper,Im wondering if yoou really neeed to taper,Im not bipolar I have depression and anxiety and was put on Risperdal for racing thoughts,Does any one or has anyone ever just stopped Risperdal without tapering,,my pharmisist said its not nesa sarry byt i dont realy know for sure,i think sometimes he just tells me what he thinks i want to hear,,,,THanks
Risperdal is an antipsychotic though but I think some of them can send a person into mania. I remember reading Geodon could at least when read up on it.
Since for us driven manic by AD, if you beat depression without an AD then no more depression for start the first face of the coin, and by not taking an AD then no second face too i.e. no mania. So by not having neither depression nor mania then no BP. Simple.
I also demanded from the forum to start looking for an AD that doesn't bring mania. Although nobody came to rescue me by suggesting one, i tried in the meantime lexapro/cipralex, seroxat/paxil/ some tricyclics, stablon/coaxil etc..
My son just recently started taking risperdal. I am discovering that good help is very difficult to find. He is currently taking 1.5 mg a day. Last night he could not sleep at all and was afraid because he said the medication made him feel tired but his thoughts are still racing and he can't sleep. Is this something I should inform his doctor about or should I wait for his next week appointment.
I have been on 50 mg of Zoloft for about 5 years. I started it after suffering panic attacks and depression for years. I'm 36 years old. I just had my second child in Sept. after the birth of my first child in 2010 I suffered PPD and postpartum thyroiditis. It was then diagnosed Hashimotos. I was hyper then hypo. During all of this I tried a few other SSRI's with no luck and went back to my regular 50 mg dose of Zoloft.
Cut to 4 months postpartum after my second child. Same ZOLOFT dose.

By the way, don't suddenly stop the Risperdal. You must sloooowly come off of it. Good luck!
Possible causes -- more stress at work, money probs, a physical injury, a bunch of depression. Lithium can make you tired. Citalopram sounds like an anti-anxiety/sleep med, which could also make you poopy.
I waited a few months to make sure that going off of the Lithobid did not worsen any of my syptoms, and then started a long process of going off of my Risperdal. I was taking 4mg and over about 5-6 months I slowly got off of that as well. I had been very apprehensive about what problems might arise without the Risperdal. In the past I have had a lot of problems with anxiety and manic phases.
my doctor discontinued risperdal because it caused milk in my breast. that was june 8.......... well i still got milk in my breast.... now what?
Hello my friend. But we are forgetting to mention you are taking about half the dose the doctor ordered you to take. I know it makes you feel sleepy. But he is just doing that for a while so you feel no withdrawls from the tablets you came off of. Xanax shouldn't make you feel depressed. Unless you suffer from depression? Or have done in the past. It is winter. You are going through a bad time. You are bound to be feeling down. Low in self esteem and the likes.
I have not been on pristiq but I have taken Celexa and Risperdal. Celexa 20 mg. is the smallest millagram and it is an antidepressant. The Risperdal is an antiphyscotic and 1 mg. is also a small dose. Risperdal can be used in place of a mood stabilizer and is especially effective if you have issues with anger.

Today at school I was walking to another class, then I have a gap in my memory except for some vague images of a bathroom, and then I found myself walking around outside the school. I had my coat & bags like I was ready to leave, but it wasn't the end of the day. I got upset since I had no idea how I had gotten there or what was going on.

It is also used to treat migraine headaches and schizophrenia. Zosert 50------ Zosert is a selective serotonin reputate inhibitor. It's used for depression, anxiety, ocd, panic. Sizodon 2 is an atypical antipsychotic. Risperdal is the name in my country.
I suffer from depression, bi polar 1, ptsd, anxiety and panic attacks, and borderline personality disorder. My question is will my syptoms get worse while pregnant and not taking my meds?
Some are Seroquel, Abilify, Lithium, and Risperdal, though there are many more. Depression is just being down and sometimes having a normal time between periods of depression. Bipolar disorder has depressive episodes but also hypomanic or manic episodes. I would suggest going to NAMI.org for more information. It is too complex of a disorder and varies from individual to individual in the experience of it (though it does have the same basic features) to describe in one post.
So they keep putting me on risperdal all the time, and when I take this stupid thing I keep hallucinating and seeing things in strange green color. So I stop taking it, and I stop hallucinating and I'm able to keep off of it, but I keep getting depressed and they keep on saying that I'm bipolar, partially because my mom keeps on lying to them. Other antipsychotics make me so and unable to keep focused as well, they make me loose all emotions and I hate taking them. How do I solve this?
I take it for psychosis as it is an antipsychotic and also an antidepressant. It has worked better than Geodon for my negative symptoms but risperdal seemed like it was going to work even better for this but unfortunately I could not handle it. Geodon treated my psychotic symptoms better however. It doesn't work as good as I'd like it to but it's better than nothing. I could not tell you how it works for depression as I am not depressed.
Depakoate is of course a mood stabilizer but it generally works better on mania than depression. Risperdal is of course an antipsychotic but it also has full mood stabilization effects. Generally (it states this on the package insert) anti-psychotics are used with caution in people that are elderly so his psychiatrist is probably seeing whether he absolutely needs it or not.
