risperdal and lexapro combination

I am currently taking Risperdal, Lamictal, Lithium, and Lexapro. I was on Seroquel XR for quite sometime, but switched back to Risperdal because 1) it is a heck of a lot cheaper, and 2) it really worked well for me, even better than Seroquel. I believe in the fact that medications work quite differently for everyone. I personally have not had any issues with my current combination.

I am on that combination and it works great. I was taking Lexapro 20 mg with Wellbutrin and was fine. How long have you been on Lexapro? My doc started me out slow with a week of 5 mg then 10 mg and so on. I know jumping into 20 mg for me was exhausting. Best of luck.

What are some the more "successful" medication cocktails people are seeing these days for OCD and especially the pure O type? I am currently on 112.5 mg of Effexor and moving up to 150 mg soon. I was "fine" for about 6 years after my last bout of medication (Risperdal and Zoloft) that I quit due to horrible weight gain. So, I am also looking to find the most weight neutral combination as well.

I was on Lexapro then to citalopram because of costs, added effexor and still had such horrific depression I wouldn't get out of bed for days. Then I started on 5mg saphris twice a day. At first I felt great but a little too high, so went from 80 mg citalopram to 40 mg a day.

I was somewhat manic when I was on Risperdal but it most likely was an interaction with Lamictal which at higher doses can cause mania and I was on a fairly large dose at the time.

lithium, prozac, lexapro, seroquel, abilify, risperdal, klonopin, vistaril, zyprexa, ambien, rozerem, & depakote. Zyprexa, Benadryl, Depakote, and Seroquel have caused me to twitch and feel like my skin is crawling an hour (or a few) after I take them. I feel as though there is an itch under my skin that I cannot scratch all over my body, and have involuntary movements in my limbs. It happened most severely with Seroquel (100 mg, if I am not mistaken).

The past year or so though hes been showing signs of ADD or ADHD. His Dr has prescribed him Risperdal because and medication isnt something she just randomly hands out so I know he needs it. I just have a few questions that wont be answered until he sees another Dr which I am waiting for a referral to. My questions are: Whats the difference between ADD/ADHD? How will I be able to tell if the Risperdal is having a positive effect or a negative effect and how soon will I know of either?

I would like to know what would be a good allergy medicine that can be taken with risperdal. I have given my son benadryal in the past and he would become calm but since the risperdal he gets very hyper and stays up all night. My son has seasonal allergies. I have given him claritin and it does not work. Thank you for any advice you can give.

t imagine very many people taking three different drugs that all target serotonin receptors at the same time. Celexa and Lexapro are essentially the same drug, with Lexapro being Celexa with some of the molecules cut out. This is weird indeed. I wonder why the Zoloft wasn't tried at a more therapeutic dose instead of layering on the same kind of drugs.

i was wondering if it was alright that i take nadolol and lexapro... or take effexor and nadolol... i have migraines and i think im depressed because of them... so is that ok to take a combination of either of the two..

Hello. I currently am suffering with OCD involving HIV fear and I am thinking of possibly going on medication again along with counseling. I've been on many different drugs including Elavil, Zoloft, Lexapro, Depakot, Risperdal, and probably more that I can't even remember. I had a bad experience and finally when I decided to come off them I was LOADS better. But now my mind is going crazy again. I've looked up meds and I'm seeing a lot about Anafranil associated with OCD.

Klonopin lasts longer and with it being prescribed 2 times a day, it will control your anxiety all day and night. I take the 1mg Klonopin in the morning and two at night. I am also on Lexapro, and this combination has worked very well for me. I hope this helped and take care!

I had been on lexapro for 11 days and kinda tapered off it to go on cymbalta but only did cymblat 4 days and had to stop because of bad diereahha,I cant call my dr again today as i might lose her since she said me calling ever day is not good.Pharmiasys thinks its my anxiety but when i was o risperdal i had fast heart rate too,,,,anyone else experience this?

m brand new to depression medication and just wondering what folks think about the combination of Lexapro and Wellbutrin. A lot of folks I know had bad problems with Wellbutrin, but really like Lexapro and right now I'm kinda just trying to power through side effects.

I agree with gr8guymemphis, I slowly came off Lexapro and had similar feelings/symptoms etc. I also went onto 5-HTP( I call this the NATURAL wonder that doctors don't want you to know about) with a combination of St Johns Wort and Vit B and the awesome thing is the only side affect that may or may not occur is feeling a little nausiated in the first few days as your body adjusts.

It will take a few months to build up to a full dose of Lamictal and if you have angry outbursts that get physical your psychiatrist might want you to take Risperdal and then as the Lamictal builds up to a full dose see if you can do without it so that you have full stability in the meantime as Risperdal unlike Lamictal works right away. Risperdal of course has a good mood stabilization effect. They can coordinate about this as well.

Well it depends. Risperdal is an antipsychotic and it is effective in treating psychosis. Asperger's is a developmental disability and thus doesn't specifically respond to antipsychotics. What is the Risperdal specifically being used for? Also there is a community specifically for Asperger's.

I was taking risperdal for 6 month (4MG) and stopped "cold turkey" as the doctor suggested. now for 2 month i am having insomnia. can not sleep more then 3 hours per night. What can i do and how long should it take to get my normal sleep? how long the insomnia last?

Well........you are in a bit of a pickle with your meds, but it can be fixed, so try to calm down. As cj told you, stopping a benzo like Xanax cold turkey is a really, really bad idea. I put about 99% of the blame on your doctor for not making it extremely clear to you that you have to taper off Xanax, even though your dose was relatively small and you weren't on it for very long, this is a really powerful med and you needed to be tapered by your doctor.

I took lexapro a year ago for just about a month, but did not have this side affect. The dr said we could either change antidepressants of try taking .5 of the lexapro and 2.5 of the abilify along with it. Why the combo?
