Avatar m tn If you search 'ketoconazole' online, the first link that popped up for me is from the NIH (National Institutes of Health in DC) and the second one is from the website 'rxlist', which is pretty good imo at explaining medical/scientific/pharmaceutical stuff at a high level but not completely over my head. Rxlist seems pretty well balanced, and I usually go there when curious about some medication I'm supposed to take.

According to the RxList, such nervous system involvement is rare, except in the case of a massive overdose or if the person is also taking or has overdosed on other medications that may interfere with the nervous system. Coma can also occur during an overdose if the patient is going into liver failure.

Avatar n tn Stroke might refer to a blockade in some of the brain arteries (ischemic stroke) or to a bleeding of those arteries (hemorrhagic strokes). I think that Coumadin, being an anti coagulant, may cause strokes of the second type, in particular if associated with high BP. From the RXLIST: "Potential adverse reactions to COUMADIN may include: Fatal or nonfatal hemorrhage from any tissue or organ. This is a consequence of the anticoagulant effect.

Any longer could cause corneal adverse events......what kind of events? I'm really nervous about surgery and am beginning to question if I want to go through with it at this time.....What are preferred anesthesias? What do you think about injections, etc......
Avatar n tn This is what I scouted out on Rxlist . com , which is a decent site. Do a little research on the web from reputable sites and you'll get a clearer picture considering your own personal health situation. ----copied from RxList's site----- General: ROXICODONE® is intended for use in patients who require oral pain therapy with an opioid agonist. Avatar m tn Benzodiazepines can very well be addicting meds, they are a schedule class III drug, the same category as Vicoden. From rxlist "Use of benzodiazepines, including lorazepam, may lead to physical and psychological dependence." So i would definitely talk with your doctor before stopping these meds, you might have to do a slow taper. Best of luck to you!
Avatar n tn You could try doing a search on the internet. rxlist might be a good place to start. They usually disclose what medications are indicated for. Did you challenge your doctor on the choice of med or mention your concerns?

10318302 tn?1409256668 Ribavirin is definitely not a walk in the park but the combo of the two (Riba & Interferon) is definitely much worse. My husband tried triple treatment with Incivik and lasted only 5 weeks on it. It almost killed him. He just completed the Sovaldi & Ribavirin treatment for 24 weeks. (He's gt 1a). He definitely had a rough time because he has hepatic encephalopathy and it was worsened with treatment BUT the important thing is he made it through treatment.
Avatar f tn s assistant called yesterday and said I am anemic and to take a shot of procrit. Also to reduce to 400mg/day ribavirin instead of my 800mg. I am in week 15 and have been UND at week three on triple therapy with incivek. Genotype 1a. Weigh 140 lbs. I was on 1000mg for 6 weeks and for the remainder of the time have been on 800mg. Yesterday I started on 400 mg and am worried about relapse. What is the role of ribavirin and just how important is it to SVR? I am on course for 24 wk.
Avatar f tn I'm in the Telaprevir trial in week 13, so I finished the Telaprevir (or placebo) this past Wednesday. A day or two before that my scalp started itching. Yesterday it spread to the point that I had the itchies on almost half my body. Then I noticed tiny bumps where it itched worst. I took Benadryl, which didn't make it totally go away but brought it under control. It's better today but not gone. Just took another Benadryl.
Avatar f tn This was shown in a retrospective analysis of a large, randomized, placebo-controlled trial in which patients who achieved RVR had an SVR rate of approximately 90% regardless of whether they received peginterferon alfa and ribavirin, standard interferon and ribavirin, or peginterferon alfa monotherapy. In addition, the likelihood of SVR patients with genotype 1 infection who achieve an RVR does not appear to be affected by shortening the duration or reducing the dose of ribavirin.
