Avatar f tn t get a new one until Monday. Today is Friday. Will I be able to take dose on Monday? Do I still take the ribavirin pills since I missed the dose? After 4 weeks I was tested and no virus was showing so I am worried that this is going to be a set back. I am anemic as well. Just need to know what to do??? Hep clinic closed for weekend as is doc office and pharmacist had no clue. Anyone been through this?
Avatar f tn No, if he missed a dose yesterday, then he missed that dose. Do not try to make it up today. Ribavirin has a long half life so his blood level should be okay as long as he does not keep missing doses.
315737 tn?1407298997 hi everybody, I did the same exact thing, an the speciality pharmacist said they need to be taken together to work. He didn't seem too concerned about the missed dose. I've also doubled up on Solvaldi once an they were not concerned, I sure waS.
1148619 tn?1332010984 Studies with Victrelis showed the patient was given weight-based ribavirin (600-1400 mg/day orally divided twice daily. At 114 lbs 800 mg of ribavirin would be in range but if you tolerate 1000 mg that it all the better and at this point I don't think you're being over prescribed. It's important to get that viral load down during the first 4 weeks and ribavirin stops the virus from replicating.
Avatar m tn I just took my AM dose of ribavirin and noticed that I missed last nights dose. I take 3pills AM and 2pills PM (breakfast and dinner). My dose was reduced at wk 11 from 1200 to 1000 What if anything should I do about the missed dose? I should have taken 2 pills about 15 hrs ago.
Avatar f tn Researchers also found that in the third of study participants whose ribavirin dosage was reduced as a result of anemia, cure rates actually improved to as high as 52 percent, whereas in those whose ribavirin dose stayed the same, cure rates were lower, at 37 percent.

602261 tn?1252583158 This indicates that a treatment regiment with ribavirin dose based on plasma concentration at week 4 could significantly improve treatment outcome," they added. "We propose this to be examined in a prospective randomized trial." ----------- just pulled this from the link in my previous thread. while the study does not directly address flat versus weight-based dosing, it does add to the body of evidence suggesting that serum ribavirin levels are important both for RVR and SVR.
Avatar m tn If a dose of INCIVEK is missed within 4 hours of the time it is usually taken, patients should be instructed to take the prescribed dose of INCIVEK with food as soon as possible If more than 4 hours have passed since INCIVEK is usually taken, the missed dose should NOT be taken and the patient should resume the usual dosing schedule *Adult patients with genotype 1 chronic hepatitis C virus and compensated liver
577132 tn?1314266526 Yup. GB is right. It won't matter that you missed a dose. If you'd been in the first few weeks it might have made a difference, but not now. The official literature from Roche for Copegus says that if you remember on the same day, take the missed dose when you remember, otherwise consult your doctor. It's not bad advice. You could give your doc (or the nurse) a call.
Avatar m tn Because there is a clear relationship between ribavirin concentration and sustained virologic response rate, it is preferable not to dose reduce ribavirin if possible, especially in genotype 1 patients.5 In Manns, et al., a regression analysis of sustained virologic response rate and ribavirin dosage shows a clear direct relationship between SVR and dose with a definitive cutoff at a critical dose of 10.6 mg/kg.
Avatar f tn Ribavirin comes in 200 mg tablets or capsules. The approved dose of ribavirin when used with Pegasys is 1,000-1,200 mg (5-6 tablets) daily, split into a morning dose (2-3 tablets) and an evening dose (3 tablets). The actual dose is based on body weight: people who weigh less than 165 lbs. take 1,000 mg daily, and people who weigh 165 lbs. or more take 1,200 mg daily.
Avatar m tn It depoends on what you mean by missing a treatment. Forgetting the Second Ribavirin dose of a day won't be bad if you take it ASAP. iF YOU TAKE THE iNTERFEON 12 HOURS OR A DAY LATE IT WON'T BE BAD AS LONG AS YOU GET BACK ON TRACK RIGHT AWAY.
Avatar m tn I was wondering any information you might have regarding svr and the ribavirin dose reduction (i did see a study regarding monotherapy with a viral load of less than 100,000 and genotype 2 here is the link http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19084937 any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Avatar m tn they almost stopped the medicine because they are thinking i ****** up to bad, Again, why? I know of no medical team that would threaten to stop treatment because you missed a dose or two. now my question is how will they find out just took my peg-inferion and instatnly feel sick as **** . What are you asking or saying? Most of us feel bad after taking interferon but we do what we must and they cannot find out you didn't take a dose unless you tell them.
Avatar m tn This addresses ribavirin in an SOC setting. "Impact of Dose Reductions The impact of dose reduction on SVR was retrospectively assessed by analyzing drug exposure in genotype 1-infected patients randomized to peginterferon-α-2a (180 μg/week) plus ribavirin (1000 or 1200 mg/d) who completed 48 weeks of treatment.
Avatar m tn Been on RIBA and PEG and PIs for 4 weeks. Last night missed my 600mg RIBA dose. No reason why. Just spaced out I guess. Anyone else done that? I know the reccommendation is NOT to take the dose if you've missed it by 6 hours. What about taking 800mg this morning? Any comments? This *****! Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am on Tecfidera 240 mg dose. It just occurred to me I missed the morning dose. I have a call into the specialty pharmacy for direction. I didn't find much on the web except "take it as soon as you remember and if close to your next dose take it then but don't double up". This is the first time I missed since starting therapy last month. I feel terrible. Is this incredibly bad?
