Moroxydine HCl is an antiviral used for the prevention and treatment of influenza. Ribavirin is also an antiviral that is indicated for severe RSV infection, Hepatits C, or other viral infections.

So i was wondering if somebody was given Ribavirin for RSV outside the window period (two years after last unprotected incident exactly) and days later undergoes Elisa testing; is Ribavirin effective enough to decrease the immune system's exposure to HIV to a point in which it would blunt antibodies response, therefore leading to a false negative? or producing a false negative in any other way?

I just had my son at 33 weeks 6 days. If anyone on here has had preemies before my question is how long after you brought baby home did you stay in the house? I didn't get a definite answer from my doctor or the hospital. He is now almost 3 weeks and doing well just above 6 pounds. I've heard other moms say right away is okay another said one year!!! I have errands and appointments plus my 5 year old has to be taken and picked up from school during the week.

my daugter is 4 weeks old and she got RSV. She was hospitalized for 3 days and was being monitored for her oxygen levels. She is still coughing a lot and its hard to watch her. Doc said it can take upto a month or 2 to fully recover.

Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!

My daughter has been sick for three and a half weeks now. Fever throwing up and diarrea for first week, then fever and diarrea the next week. Then fever up to 104 and deydration the next took her to the ER they put her on IVs but could not find whats wrong. She has a history of RSV could this be what it is again. I dont know what o do?

Last month was supposed to be the last but they called a couple of weeks ago and told us that half the kids that are coming in sick are testing positive for RSV and if Cassidy got it she would go back to the NICU again so I guess this month will be the last.

When my 4 year old had RSV when he was 5 weeks old, also on a vent for 11 days, (he had RSV a second time when he was 2 1/2 in the hospital 5 days no vent.) they said he could end up having asthma. (crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!

I am assuming that the WPW was ablated and if so then he is at low risk for recurrence of the SVT. If ablation was not undertaken, and he is on medications for prevention, then I would say he still can undergo routine day care with low risk of recurrence.

I took my 6 week old (1 week old adjusted) daughter to the Dr. for a runny nose/congestion and a cough. He told me she has a cold. The other day I suctioned out her nose with the bulb and there was blood in it along with yellow/green mucus. I told her Dr but he just said it sounds like a sinus infection but didn't offer any meds. Today I noticed she's breathing fast but I don't know if its just because she's congested?
