Avatar f tn They will automatically give you the shot around 28 weeks since babies blood type is unknown. If they Abby has your blood type after delivery you won't need another shot. If baby has positive blood type they will give you the shot. Don't freak yourself out , I'm rh- as well and I'm pregnant with my third healthy babyboy.
2174396 tn?1337605170 Blood as in type alone, no. But you can have platelet problems or need to have blood transfusions in uterero. Trust me, I just delievered my baby yesterday at 31 weeks after going through hell. But, it is very rare. But can be checked.
3198629 tn?1367038423 Umm, my sister had to have a needle when she was pregnant with her first because she had a negative blood type and the father was a positive. My question is, I don't know what blood type my fiance is and I'm O+, but I was under the impression that if you were positive the fathers blood type didn't matter, is that true? I don't want my body to attack the baby..
Avatar f tn They only give you O type blood if they have to because its a neutral blood type and your body wont reject it.
Avatar f tn From what I understand (and I could be wrong) its not about being o negative or a negative or whatever, its about lacking the rH factor making you rH negative. If they had found that your blood was rH negative, they would have tested dad's blood too. If he is also negative. No issues. Negative is a recessive trait so if dad was positive, baby would be positive and the difference in you and baby is what would cause issues. Hope this helps a little.
Avatar n tn How does blood type affect fertility aside from RH concerns? Just beginning to research this.
Avatar f tn My fiances mom is rh negative, as well as my mom. I've heard horrible rumors that women with this blood type either can't have children, or will have children with disabilities which is obviously not true :) this blood type ain't no Thang ;) just gotta get a shot around 28w, as well as after birth.
Avatar f tn I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I was told I'm a negative for my blood type and I need to get a shot I was just wondering if any of y'all have gotten it and if so when is it necessary to get it?
8274643 tn?1406141596 Yes it is because your blood type is rh-. The rhogam injection is an injection of plasma which will kill any of the babies blood cells that have possibly entered your blood stream. This stops your blood from attacking these cells and creating antibodies. If the baby is rh+ you will be given another shot shortly after the birth. I had my shot 3 weeks ago. I'm not going to lie, it hurt, but I was fine in a couple of hours. I walked two miles and then went straight to work for four hours.
Avatar f tn Anti A1 with rh neg treated the same as any rh negative mom you will need rhogam to protect your body from attacking your fetus. Otherwise A1 is A with a a positive anti lectin 1 on it.
Avatar f tn No you do not need a rhogam shot if you are rh positive .. Even if dad is rh negative. The shot is only needed if you are negative and daddy is positive because even if baby is negative it means that baby is missing a certain protein on the blood cells which wont cause any harm. The only time you get the shot is when you are negative and there is a chance baby is positive because if there is any transfer in blood between you and baby you have a possibility of becoming sensitized.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if any of you have the RH- blood type and have had successful or non successful pregnancies/ability to concieve? I'm 21 years old and am TTC. When I was 16 years old I had a miscarriage at about 6 weeks, then is when I found out that I am RH-. They did regular blood tests on me post mc for about a week or two then game me a shot in my hip. I am wondering if being rh- will affect my ability to have a child now that I am ready? My husband is RH+.
1230912 tn?1273492770 I am always reading about symptoms and connections. I think that the RH negative blood type is a clue or something. Have you read the crazy stuff about Rh positive blood some folks call it monkey blood and the negative blood they call reptilian blood....uh, ok...they say that folks from the Basque people (spain which was infiltrated with vikings) that they have the highest amount of the o neg types.
Avatar f tn If you have a positive blood type U don't have to worry about it.
Avatar f tn I had it before and will need it again with this little one. I'm not gonna lie the shot hurt a lot lol. Other than that your baby will be fine.
1352892 tn?1338217905 ( ive had 2 miscarriages but this was in mexico so i was not vaccinated so no this baby also might not make it or be born very sick
Avatar f tn Ok, so I'm blood type A+ which means I have rh positive blood? And my baby should be fine? I read the only time there is a problem is when the baby is positive and the mother is negative. Does anyone know if I'm understanding everything correctly? Ps. My new doctor wants me to get retested, I guess it wasn't in my medical records. I just want to put my mind at ease, and not feel the need to rush/worry just yet.
Avatar f tn Am A- blood type and I have to do the shots in the 7 month and other depending on the type of babyborn blood . Is there any obstacles of natural delivery for the negative type of blood and any problems during pregnancy . Am 7 weeks and it's my first .
Avatar f tn Everyone is either RH negative or RH positive it has nothing to do with pregnancy.
Avatar f tn It isn't a huge problem at all. If the baby's dad is rh positive then your body will want to reject the baby because it's seen as a foreign body. It will not reject your first baby but it will create antibodies so the next baby you have is at risk. They use to give you immunosuppressant shots during your second pregnancy to prevent miscarriage but I believe (you can ask your doctor for sure) now they give you one while delivering your first child and it will prevent it.
Avatar f tn That won't happen. Don't stress. And until baby is born you can't be sure she has a different blood type. I am also rh-, all that happens now is that you will need another shot after you deliver to ensure your body doesn't attack any future babies you may have. I completely agree about that shot being the worst though. I got it and had to go to work straight after. Which is a 2 mile walk and 5 mile bus ride from the hospital. Fair to say my leg was agony for the rest of the day.
Avatar f tn Does the baby's father have an RH+ blood type? Then you would need the concern over the shot. But if not, then you would be fine. Here, I am A- and my husband tested as O- so we are all good...
1181036 tn?1367368640 I was spotting and went to see what was wrong. When I went in thats when they told me I was RH neg and me and my baby blood was not compatible. The gave me the shot. To make a long story short I had a miscarriage. And here I am 5 years later and pregnant again with my first. Im 2 months pregnant and I dont have my first appt for another week and a half.
Avatar f tn I am O Negative I have a rare blood type how do I know what blood type my child will be ?
