Avatar m tn I have been on the Norvir, Reyataz, Truvada combo for over a year with no side effects.
Avatar n tn I started taking PEP on august 4th. I take truvada norvir and reyataz. I went to get a rapid antibody hiv test today and was negative. Should I still be worried and stressed? I haven't slept much since this happened.
Avatar n tn I recently started the Norvir, Reyataz, Truvada combo. This is my first time taking "the meds" after being hiv + for 20 years. I have been on them for only 11 days. I have weird side effects: headaches, queasy stomach, and fatigue/weakness. I told my doctor, and he said, to "tough it out for another week, and he'll see if he needs to change the combination, or switch meds.
4529703 tn?1355961841 I was diagnosed with HIV in 2006, I was 26 years......I was at 129CD4 count.......When I started feeling sick I started treatment. I got all the way up to almost 500CD4 count....I was undetectable for 5 years until now docs were like wow! I went into the hospital back in Feb of this year for some kidney infection that the doctors was confounded about how I got and my CD4 was 2something and viral load 500+ AFTER 5 YEARS UNDETECTABLE!. Kidneys got clear & I left....
2069183 tn?1331330038 been positive since 1988, maybe even earlier, didnt start on meds till 2007. Norvir, truvada and reyataz are my friends. My cd4 is 700 and viral load is undetectable. very fortunate to have meds at my disposal. I would advise folks who are positice, please take your meds.
Avatar m tn 4 I have a compromised immune system and am on truvada, norvir, and reyataz. I have been walking and watching my intakes... I do have a sweet tooth sometimes but otherwise I eat pretty healthy. any ideas?
Avatar f tn Just looked it up, PPI 668 is a NS5a inhibitor (in the same class of DAAs as BMS 790052/Daclatasvir) Do you know, Is the Presidio trial only using 668 with no other DAA or Ribavirin?
Avatar f tn Ive had HCV for 38 years. I've not done protocol as decided by dr. & myself. Over the past 6 years I've had bouts with upper GI disturbances. (Am in process of finding a new hepatologist). Jan ,2014- May, 2014 persistent nausea & 16 lb weight loss. Barrett's oesophagus was discovered on endoscopy. A PPI is recommended to help acid reflux & in research I see they can be quite harmful to liver, which already has expected changes: arterial shunts, bridging, varicies etc.
Avatar m tn I lost about 10 pounds and have changed my diet drastically, but was wondering if I should double up on my ppi or possible try another one that would help me better??
Avatar f tn My doctor, whom I consider an able physician, has repeatedly assured me of the safety of the PPI class of drugs. Even said her 9 year old daughter was on Protonix. After learning of the latest warnings of these drugs, increased risk of fractures, inablility to fight certain types of bacteria, etc., I really wanted to go off of this drug. I have not been able to do so, as the pain interrupts my sleep and with fragmented sleep I am a zombie the next day.
Avatar m tn I have been experiencing heartburn for three months and the symptom got better after taking PPI. I have stopped PPI for about a month because of the side effects. I still feels only minor heartburn, no any other general symptoms of gastritis such as black stool, vomiting with blood, etc. Since I am not insured currently, I am hesitating to go to see medical attention. Do I need to be checked with gastroscope for my stomach condition?? Or, does it just take some time to get fully relieved??
Avatar n tn I do know someone who took it twice a day for a long period of time. She told me the lining of the small intestine was damaged. One other thing to keep in mind is malabsorption issues. It's something you'll want to consider with your supplement schedules. For instance, during the periods of time when I find it necessary to take the PPI short term for the GERD, I keep this in mind when I'm taking my B12 supplements. B12 is very important, because the stomach processes B12.
Avatar f tn I have GERD for about 7 years now. I've tried every PPI on the market and had all tests done. Dr says I have high acid level and my stomach and esophagus is inflamed. For the last week, I have a burning sensation in my abdomen (intestines) and bad heartburn. Also, I have a lot of phlegm in my throat.
1295419 tn?1276822872 She said that after I am off of the PPI for 3 months, we will do an endoscopy to check for any damage and if any is found, we will do a PPI long term. I had my Barium Swallow this week. I was told it was "normal" and to stop taking my Dexilant until I get my Endoscopy in a few months. The report said "Minimal amount of reflux in the supine position which was not able to be duplicated".
6820012 tn?1385089216 I am confused with an article I read about the inhibition of the antiretroviral medications when in PPI (proton pump inhibitor) medication. I was diagnosed with an hiatal hernia a long time ago, since then, I being taking Lanzoprazole (PPI medication) to treat my condition. Three month ago I started Truvada as PrEP (pre exposure prophylaxis). My concern is, How effective is Truvada to preventing me to acquire an HIV infection?.
Dog Nexium, is the first proton pump inhibitor (PPI) synthesized as an optical isomer to become available for clinical use. Nexium is approved for the healing and maintenance of erosive esophagitis, for symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and for use in combination with antibiotics to eradicate Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) in patients with active or prior duodenal ulcer disease. Protonix is a gastric proton pump inhibitor (PPI), available in oral and intravenous formulations.
