I was off of meds for over four year ...a drug holiday because of the previous meds which made me sick but now I'm on the 3 medications ( reyataz, truvada and norvor). Its been a over three years and so far so good with a healthy diet and exercise and no visible side effects. My cd4's are up and viral load is undetectable. Not sure if it makes a difference at what time of day you take yours meds but I take mine after breakfast.
Also I've been taking it since early second trimester and im now due in less than two weeks and still take it when I need it
I had my gallbladder removed and take antacids all the time, I would also like to know about this.
I recently started the Norvir, Reyataz, Truvada combo. This is my first time taking "the meds" after being hiv + for 20 years. I have been on them for only 11 days. I have weird side effects: headaches, queasy stomach, and fatigue/weakness. I told my doctor, and he said, to "tough it out for another week, and he'll see if he needs to change the combination, or switch meds.
My doc seemed amazed that the stomach could affect the heart and didnt seem to believe the specialist. Am dazed and confused and sick of worrying about my heart. I also once had a dream in which on three different occasions my heart was torn from my body. On one instance I was a Mayan sacrifice and the other I remember took place during the second world war. I was a doctor and had been caugh and my heart cut out. I cant remember the third.
I had chronic nausea for an entire year before my surgery so I am going to say yes it does because once the surgery was over I never had it again.
They took my gallbladder out the other day and found a "spot" on my liver. Biopsy isn't back yet. I had so many different symptoms it was a confusing mess!!
deflatine is ok, always read the labels, over the counter antacids contain a very high content of sodium which can raise the blood pressure leading to renal failure.
GERD is gastro esophageal reflux disease where the stomach acids come back into the esophagus and spill into the wind pipe causing cough and breathlessness. Treatment with antacids will help neutralize the acids. Post nasal drips can occur with sinusitis and throat infections. Giving up cigarettes will abolish the symptoms in 90% of people. Talk to your GP about the other causes for your symptoms in the meantime you could try warm salt water gargles and breathing exercises.
My doctor and the specialty pharmacist said the the calcium carbonate based antacids are fine to take. I have not researched the content of all antacids, but the ones I take are the chewable calcium carbonate based antacids (they look like TUMs) Read the label to be sure the ingredient is calcium carbonate. As a precaution, I did not take them close to my medication times although I was told it was okay. (I like to be on the safe side, lol.
And it was only once then. It just happened so suddenly, I was breathing find and then I lie down and immediately begin experiencing problems. I also have terriible posture and spend 5+ hours a day using the computer, sitting not up straight in a chair, not sure if that has anything to do with it either.
I've had chronic heartburn for a number of years and its been easily resolved by over the counter antacids. But recently over the past few weeks the heartburn has become more intense and frequent. Everytime I lay down, everything I eat and drink gives me heartburn. I've also began experiencing nausea after each meal. Ill get hungry but have to stop eating due to nausea. I constantly feel nauseous and its effecting my life.
Other options may be Try milk or any anticids containg calcium or magnesium but avoid antacids that contain aluminum because it can cause constipation and be toxic at high doses. Keep your head elevated at night. Try to figure out what triggers heartburn. Also ginger ( ginger ale or ginger candy) If antacid isn't working you might want to consider something stronger, but talk to your doctor before you for that. For instance tagamet or Zantac.

This is my 7th pregnancy ( mummy to 3 angels) I've never experienced heartburn before but feel weird and very acidic. I've been taking antacids but don't want to over do them. My symptoms are strange feeling In My chest , I keep belching and having an acid taste in my mouth and constant feeling to be sick but when I do its just acid.
