Restasis watery eyes

Common Questions and Answers about Restasis watery eyes

restasis

Avatar f tn Hi. I have posted several questions regarding my dry eyes but think I realize what really is irritating them the most. It's the fluorescent lighting at work. My eyes seem fine in the morning then around 1:00, at the SAME TIME every day, my eyes get real watery & hurt. I don't work on the computer at work but do get on quite a bit a home. That also aggravates my eyes. This all came out of the blue 2 months ago. I have been fine up until then which is puzzling..
Avatar f tn Yes Restasis is helpful for "watery" eyes as well as dry as bone. Read the many posts here about Restasis and dry eyes/ tear dysfunction. Fine one at www.aao.
Avatar f tn A long with my fish oil pills. What are other supplements I can use to improve my dry eyes? I want to avoid prescribed restasis at all cost :) please some advice?
Avatar m tn I have had this condition for over a year ......watery eyes to the point that often I can not blink enough or fast enough to clear up my field of vision. Especially when I am trying to focus on something that requires me to focus downward ie cutting vegetables, fruit whatever cooking ie stirring pot or frying bacon, or diapering a baby !!!! i have been to two opthamologist and have been put on: Restasis, steroid drops and antibiotic drops several times and several different types of each one .
Avatar f tn s the purpose of this? he doesnt think my watery eyes are allergy related too. Would having the upper ducts cauterized help any? I am only 48 yrs old, with no other eye problems too.
Avatar m tn Let me start by saying I do have Rheumatoid Arthritis, which affects my immune system. Since the end of May my right eye has watered everyday. I had my eyes checked a couple of weeks ago and the Dr. said he couldn't see anything that was wrong, and didn't believe it to be a blocked tear duct. He thought I had dry eyes and gave me some sample drops to use but they just make my eyes more watery and don't help.
Avatar n tn Its simple to put these in and give them a try. They would be less likely to help a watery eye than a "bone dry" eye. You should be on Restasis and that would be more likely to help than anything. Also consider fish oil enteric coated high quality manufactuer (example Cardiotabs ) 3/day or one of the oral over the counter pills specific for dry eyes. TheraTears Dry eye oral formulation.
Avatar f tn ), is reluctant to fit me for a contact lens due to the dry eyes. Do you think that the restasis would help the dry eye so that I may better tolerate a contact lens? If so, I will bring up this possibility at my next appointment. As always thank you!!!
Avatar m tn If you mention watery eyes, especially just one side and if the tears actually run down the face. More common after nose or facial trauma or surgery.
Avatar f tn ve recently posted that I just recently started Restasis, but my question is will the red eyes start getting better as the Restasis starts to work. Does dry eyes cause them to be red.......... I mean they are not horribly red, but are somewhat irritated. Will my eyes be like this always or will they get better eventually. My eye Dr. said they're not too bad, but I know that this is not they way they were before.
Avatar n tn My ophthalmologist recently prescribed restasis for dry eyes. I read that cyclosporin can causes cancer. Is this true? Are these drops safe?
Avatar m tn My wife and I have been on restasis for many years with fabulous results. restasis works with both forms of dry eyes. Many people have stinging with restasis for several weeks which can be helped by using steroid drops for a couple of weeks. there is a new medication that works like restasis called Xidra it is supposed to kick in faster (3-4 months) than restasis (4-6 months) but has not been shown to be better than restasis and is more costly. Read the section on dry eyes on my blog page.
Avatar f tn Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes. My eyes now feel better than they have for quite awhile but still red like no sleep (I get 8 hrs daily) I have 3 questions; 1. can plugs be used with Restasis?
Avatar f tn org/user_journals/show/1648149/General-information-on-dry-eyes-tears-dysfunction-syndrome Both my wife and I have very dry eyes and both of us have been on Restasis (cyclosporin) for years with excellent results. I understand from postings from the UK this is difficult to get there.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was losing my eye sight about 2 weeks ago. It just came out of the blue. I had lens inplants in 2004. Been doing just fine. Until 2 weeks ago. My eye Dr. / surgeon diagnosed as me as possible glaucoma. The pressure in my eyes was 24.5 . He started me on tobradex ST ( steroid drops) and Timolol Maleate. Then I used thera tears and systane during the day and the night time gel. As of last Friday I was doing fine, then my vision became blurry again and my left eye is like half open.
Avatar f tn Hi. Last week I started Restasis for dry eyes. I tried temporary collagen plugs but they did not help.. My dry eyes just seemed to come out of the blue last month. (I've had minor dry eye problems for many years). Now, it's all I think about. My main problem is a windy feeling to my eyes, even in my own home. I am actually dealing with that right now. My eyes actually feel better when they have a dry feeling, if that makes sense.
Avatar f tn Look at the bottom of this page: Read the information about dry eyes. No the ibright operation is not recommended. Also read the article about eye "Bling" Dry eyes can usually be controlled, it often can't be cured.
Avatar f tn I was having problems before I started with dry eyes, irritated eyes, felt like something in them. That is why my opthamologist put me on Restasis. He was afraid they would get even worse (and the Systane alone was not doing the job).
Avatar n tn Both my wife and I have been on Restasis for years for marked dry eyes. with great results.
Avatar f tn Dry eyes can be a life-long problem especially for menopausal or post menopausal females. Go to Dr. Hagan's Blog and read the section on it; read the "General information on Dry eyes" in "Today's Pulse" also use the archives and search feature.
Avatar f tn If you dont have enough oils in your tears, you may end up with watery eyes or just really dry eyes. Another thing that may really help your eyes is taking Omega 3 fatty acids. Theratears makes a good product. I take 3 or 4 per day and it really does help. Most ppl wait too long to check with a doctor when they are having trouble with their eyes and that sometimes causes real problems. Hope you get better soon.
Avatar m tn My permanent plugs have fallen out and even though I dont feel I am experiencing the same high level of discomfort in my eyes due to month long use of restasis, contacts are almost impossible to have in my eyes. I wear proclear dailies which are thinnest and most comfortable on market. Any other advise?
Avatar m tn sort_by=date%C2%A0%C2%A0 Then read the many posts and discussions about dry eyes on the forum. If you eyes are that dry and you are on steroids then its likely you need to go on restasis or Xiidra. The latter is very expensive. If restasis is used in vials, not multidrop bottle, it is not that expensive. I have said many times on this forum both my wife and I have very bad dry eyes and we both are on restasis her for about 6-7 years and me for 3 years with excellent results.
Avatar f tn I've had difficulty with intermittent blurred vision for over a year. All neurological tests have been negative. Two months ago, my eye doctor changed my prescription slightly, and also suggested I try Restasis to see if maybe my eyes were just dry. I haven't noticed much of a change. I went today for a recheck. I read the eye chart with my right eye and did OK, but I could barely see the top line with my left eye. I was very shocked, as this has never happened before.
Avatar f tn Thank you.
427279 tn?1210919821 but eyes have changed first time in years ...and he said i had extremely dry eyes....wants me to take restasis but kept saying "you may not think it's working for you but it will be just keep using it...hmmmmmm....so anyway all is good just so tired dont want to move...
