restasis patient assistance

There are so many drug assistance programs out there for us in the US who are not on medicare/medicaid or live in Massachussetts. I'm thinking it might be helpful to start a thread of some of these so everyone is taking full advantage of the drug companies' generosity. Ok, you know I'm being facetious with that comment - they want us to take their drug and are bribing us to do so by helping with the copay.

could anyone give me ideas as to where or who i would contact to get some patient assistance for acute hep c treatment? I am not working, cannot wait on s.s. disability. I try to do some construction work when available, but it is really rough.

Ask your surgeon but restasis is not stoppeed by our surgeons. Steroid drops are not a problem, in fact I often put the patient on steroid drops when they start restasis to reduce stinging/burning. Use the steroids about 2-3 weeks. Good luck. Be patient. Restasis is a wonderful medication. My wife has been on it about 3 years with wonderful results.

I've recently posted that I just recently started Restasis, but my question is will the red eyes start getting better as the Restasis starts to work. Does dry eyes cause them to be red.......... I mean they are not horribly red, but are somewhat irritated. Will my eyes be like this always or will they get better eventually. My eye Dr. said they're not too bad, but I know that this is not they way they were before.

I know this first post was from many years ago, but I just had a patient with this same scenario and I prescribed Restasis to help with dryness in combination with NaCl drops to help with the edema. It worked well. I am an optometrist by the way.

I also had an infection in the left eye which cleared up with an antibiotic/antiflammatory drug and the Ophthalmalogist then started me on Restasis. The left eye still has pain. Can you still have dry eye with Restasis? Maybe this is the cause of the pain. Also the floaters are still in the left eye. Can the floaters cause pain also?

Hi. Last week I started Restasis for dry eyes. I tried temporary collagen plugs but they did not help.. My dry eyes just seemed to come out of the blue last month. (I've had minor dry eye problems for many years). Now, it's all I think about. My main problem is a windy feeling to my eyes, even in my own home. I am actually dealing with that right now. My eyes actually feel better when they have a dry feeling, if that makes sense.

I was reading the post about suboxone prices ,someone wanted to know if the was any assistance for the cost . Be very patient. Don't expect much help for 4 months but after that it often gets better for up to a year. Also Omega Fish oil is helpful. If you try that get the ENTERIC COATED FISH OIL Just take one with your evening meal for two weeks to let you stomach get use to it. Then add a second one with breakfast. 2/day is enough for most people but if you have high cholesterol, a family history of heart attack of stroke then 3 day (1 with breakfast and two with dinner) are better.

and he keeps telling me to be patient and try different drops, etc. One eye seems to be worse than the other. I'm ready to ask for the rstor lenses to be removed. Is this difficult? Will problems ensue? I need clear vision and am suffering in a fuzzy, cloudy world that limits my reading and photography and computer work. Things I used to do with great joy.

A long with my fish oil pills. What are other supplements I can use to improve my dry eyes? I want to avoid prescribed restasis at all cost :) please some advice?

I just got back from my optomologist & he prescribed for me Restasis. He mentioned that once you're on Restasis, it's an on going thing it's not really temporary. Is that the case, do I have to stay on it. I was hoping that once my eye is feeling better, I could just use artificial tears to keep my eyes from drying so badly. He also changed my contact lenses to Acuvue Oasys. Any advice or info would be great.............................

My ophthalmologist recently prescribed restasis for dry eyes. I read that cyclosporin can causes cancer. Is this true? Are these drops safe?

I'm on restasis, my wife is on restasis, I use restasis in my practice. the medicine does not cause floaters. Floaters can occur at any time. If they start and you are doing something else like mowing the yard, reading a book or starting restasis the relationship is COINCIDENTAL. On the other hand if you are hit in the eye with a fist and note floaters the relationship is CAUSATIVE.

Rare anyone to be too sensitive to restasis. My wife and I have been on restasis for many years with fabulous results. restasis works with both forms of dry eyes. Many people have stinging with restasis for several weeks which can be helped by using steroid drops for a couple of weeks. there is a new medication that works like restasis called Xidra it is supposed to kick in faster (3-4 months) than restasis (4-6 months) but has not been shown to be better than restasis and is more costly.

I wanted to share some encouraging news for people who have Chronic Hep B and have financial difficulty affording Baraclude. I contacted Brystol Myers Squibb and applied for the Patient Assistance Program. Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes. My eyes now feel better than they have for quite awhile but still red like no sleep (I get 8 hrs daily) I have 3 questions; 1. can plugs be used with Restasis?

I prescribe Restasis and I use Restasis. I am not familiar with a blue vial holder. I Googled the term and nothing comes up so I don't know anything about it.

Can I put temporary plug and try Restasis at the same time as Restasis takes quite a long time to kick in.

This is my understanding of the patient assistance programs for Incivek. The list price, which no patient will have to end up paying, is $49,200 for 12 weeks. HOWEVER, the patient assistance programs, are more than generous. Typical Co-pay for the three prescriptions that will be needed will be between $50 and $250 each.

As the foreign body pain increases so goes the tightening to the point both lids are drawn together. Happens a few times a day to where it is interfering with my professional life. Restasis, Lotemax, AcuVail, lubricants..... Nothing changes the outcome. This has been going on for years and ophthalmologist shrugs and doesn't know what to do. I have caught this 'eye fit' on video several times. Anyone else have this problem?
