restasis

Avatar f tn Dr Hagan, is the Restasis contact friendly? if not, i may have to give up the contacts and start using my glasses on a full time basis. Being I am in the Cleveland area I have the best Dr''s too choose from. My eyes are severly dry & Restasis seems to be the best treatment option for me. Also I will starrt taking the Omega -3 suppl. as you suggested. thankx again for your comments take care j.
Avatar f tn 50) and wear contacts. During the days my eyes seem normal, maybe a little dry in the wind or if I spend a lot of time reading, but at night it is terrible. I have tried many different kinds of eyedrops, but it doesn't seem to matter what/how much I use before bed, I am always getting up in the middle of the night with severly dry eyes and putting more eyedrops in. Sometimes I can barely open and close my eyes they're so dry!
Avatar n tn The lense felt like it was a thicker material and immediately sucked all the oxygen out of my eyes. During this period I also started on Restasis and even that doesn't seem to be working. I have Raynaud's disease and think this may have something to do with my dry eyes. What brand of contact lenses do you think would be best? Thank you!
Avatar f tn I've recently posted that I just recently started Restasis, but my question is will the red eyes start getting better as the Restasis starts to work. Does dry eyes cause them to be red.......... I mean they are not horribly red, but are somewhat irritated. Will my eyes be like this always or will they get better eventually. My eye Dr. said they're not too bad, but I know that this is not they way they were before.
Avatar f tn I have used Restasis and have tried allergy drops. My eyes are always red and feel as if I have something in them (which is the bumps under my eyelids). Does anyone know what I can do about this. I've been to so many eye Dr's. and I cannot get them cleared up. I used to wear contact lenses and now I can no longer wear them. It has been almost 5 years since I was able to wear my contacts. Some Dr's. want to give me steriod drops, but I do not want to put them in my eyes.
Avatar n tn I had pink eye two months ago. Since then I have experienced very dry eyes, to the point that I can't open my eyes in the morning because they feel dried shut. I were contacts and have also noticed blurry vision and extremely sensitive to sunlight. My eyes also begin burning in the evenings I took the eye drops for pink eye and made sure to change out all makeup and through away the contaminated contacts.
Avatar m tn When I went to my eye doctor today, she said my eye was still dry and to keep on using Restasis for another month. I have been on Restasis a month now. If my vision doesn't improve, she is going to do lasik on the posterior capsular membrane. At that time my cataract surgery will be around 90 days old. Is it unusual to have that type of lasik so soon after the cataract sugery and will this improve my vision? My vision is much clearer in my right eye with my contact lens.
Avatar n tn Ok I have tried so many contacts now and I have found some that really work for my dry eyes and now they no longer make them in my perscription. I use to be able to wear contacts all day and everyday but after I had my son I guess my eyes changed. The thicker the contact lens and the less water content is best for me. Can anyone recommend contacts for me that fit this decription?
184420 tn?1326739808 this is really driving me insane... have had the contacts out for a week and using the glasses but my eyes are still burning, itching, and watering when im outside during the day, working inside with lights off, blinds closed, etc... i just ordered a new pair of glasses with the transition lenses but they told me those are not really sunglasses but hoping it might help a little...
Avatar n tn ve had a dry eye test done and I have been on restasis since I was 23 years old. I also have permanent punctal plugs in my eyes. I have been suffering from this problem since I was 19 years old. I also switched to wearing glasses and no contacts. I'm worried that this is a sign of something more severe. I also have some dry mouth problems and I also feel dehydrated a lot.
Avatar f tn I am on my 3rd dr and just got diagnosed with Thygesons.. I am on my 3rd flare up and basically was told I cannot wear contacts. I have glasses, but I've been wearing them for 6 months every single day and I would like to resume my normal life without them. It does not seem I will ever be able to wear them because after I treat my eye issue with steroids, it gets better after weeks and weeks, but then comes back once I resume contacts.
415867 tn?1323365503 My eye dr. wanted me to do restasis eye drops prior to me having lasik eye surgery done. She gave me trial ones until I got the rx filled so I've been using them for 10 days now, twice a day. I finally took the rx in to get filled and before I signed and paid there was a "don't take if pregnant or trying to becoming pregnant" I was like...."Woo~" So I talked to the pharmacist and she said that my eye dr.
Avatar f tn Will this mask help decrease the number of times that I have to use lubricating eye drops for contacts (which is 4 to 6 times a day) ? I also use a lubricating eye gel at night.
Avatar n tn your fitter can advise you and you can use the search feature on this page to pull up discussions of contacts and dry eyes. Your best options are glasses or lasik.
20830596 tn?1554933789 I’m using eye drops so the contacts feel comfortable, do I just need to stick this out? Could I just wear the contacts in the evenings & weekends for a while to get used to them? Even though I was told I’d need to get used to them, I just haven’t had great luck with the eye doctors. Is there a normal period of time to get used to contacts? Thank you!!!
Avatar m tn Initially ophthamologist told me my symptoms are from dry eyes, I have used, systane, refresh, restasis, steroids, dry eye multivitamins, fish oil, and now I have punctal plugs. I have tried antiglare coating for glasses, nothing takes the glare, starburst and halos away. Symtpoms are worse at night. I never had any kind of eye surgery done, used to wear contacts, but discontinued contacts 6-7 years ago. I do not know if any one has any clue, regarding what could be the potential diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Go back and try contacts again. I'm a -17 in both eyes and had a terrible time with contacts until I went to several ophthalmologists and optometrists and found a workable solution which includes: 1) Using only daily disposables (Acuvue 1-day was best for me). They are dramatically thinner for high prescription and eliminate need for irritating contact lens solutions. 2) Aggressive tx for dry eye including punctal plugs, Restasis, and 1000 mg fish and flaxseed oil 2/daily.
Avatar f tn My right eye has more prominent red. I haven’t worn contacts for two months but I wore them for 17 years before then. I just got lasik about a month ago. My optomologist said I have a bunch of bumps under my eyes and most likely developed allergies over time and will take time for it to get better. My question is, will the redness go away or at least be reduced at some point?
917763 tn?1311628896 I wear contacts and have always had a dry eye problem after a few hours. But it seems lately the rewetting drops does not help at all. Usually I have the ceiling fan on in the bedroom but my nose gets so dry it hurts to breath thru it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue at sometime during tx. I bought a humidifier today, I'm going to put next to the bed tonight. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn My eyes are blurry and dry. I wear contacts. My OPT said she could see dry spots on my eyes. She said try more eye drops and don't wear contacts as long. My eyesight has also gotten worse she doesn't know for sure if it will go back to normal or not. This really didn't start untill halfway through tx. I am at wk 22 of 24. I would definitely get it checked. I can really tell my eyesight has changed.
Avatar n tn I have been to countless eye doctors over the years. No answer is consistent nor a solution. I have had red eyes for over 15 years now (I am in my 30s). I have large, blue eyes - a bit dry due to the size allowing tears to evaporate faster, and need corrective vision. However, whether I wear clear contacts (dailies) or just wear glasses for months, I still have red eyes. I don't drink, I have never smoked (not around it either), no illegal or Rx drugs/medication (vitamins only).
Avatar n tn I noticed my left eyelid had become droopy, once I went back I stopped wearing contacts and its been about 3 years now. Its gotten a little better but my left eyelid still does not feel ok, it still feels a little swollen/droopy, it kinda feels itchy too, its hard to describe what it feels like... I'm more aware of my left eye. On days which gets hot, the problem gets worst. when I sleep it makes my left eye feel more comfortable.
Avatar m tn The drop I am using now is acular, it helps my eyes from being completely red like they were but they are still red. I have not worn my contacts for about 9 months. Some other background, about 2 years ago I went for a regular exam and contacts. A few hours after putting in my new contacts, Softmeds, my right eye started to bother me. I was pregnant at the time and the doctor said that it might be the cause.
