Restasis burning

Common Questions and Answers about Restasis burning

restasis

Avatar f tn discuss your concerns with the doctor that ordered the restasis and tell her/him about the new floaters.
Avatar m tn Steroid drops are not a problem, in fact I often put the patient on steroid drops when they start restasis to reduce stinging/burning. Use the steroids about 2-3 weeks. Good luck. Be patient. Restasis is a wonderful medication. My wife has been on it about 3 years with wonderful results.
Avatar m tn My Eye Doctor suggested I keep Restasis in the fridge to make more comfortable and reduce the burning and to keep using ir for 2 days. Does Restasis lose its effectiveness when placed in the fridge. Also when are results typically seen? I have a TBUT of 5 and hoping to see an increase if ues consistently.
Avatar f tn My wife and I are both on restasis. Surely you don't mean you're paying $420/month for restasis. That surely is for all your medications. You can buy restasis for cash, no insurance for much less than than and also there is a discount coupon available from the manufacturer. You can also buy on internet from pharmacies e.g. Canada. MOREOVER if you use one vial up completely it will last 2 days. If you used as directed you would use 4 vials. This cuts your cost by 75%.
Avatar m tn Xiidra, which I do not use after having poor results and may complaints from my patients about stinging, burning and not being effective. If after a 9 months the person is still symptomatic on restasis twice per day and preservative free artificial tears 2 to 4 times/day than I switch from restasis to Cequa, which is the same medicine as restasis (cyclosporine) but twice as concentrated and is said to penetrate deeper into the cornea. Cequa is more expensive.
184420 tn?1326739808 have had the contacts out for a week and using the glasses but my eyes are still burning, itching, and watering when im outside during the day, working inside with lights off, blinds closed, etc... i just ordered a new pair of glasses with the transition lenses but they told me those are not really sunglasses but hoping it might help a little... does anyone have any ideas how to relieve this, preferably a natural way i dont want to take anymore prescription meds haha .....
Avatar f tn I might add that although I have seen several eye care professionals none of them suggested Restasis, I had to demand it. The blur predate the Restasis. I know that burning can be a side effect for Restatsis as it wakens the eyes system to create moisture. I don't mind it but it has reminded me of the plug. The rest of my eye does not burn. I did ask the doctor about the plug but he was unwilling to pursue it.
1533563 tn?1292285307 This questions is answered by me on the other forum. Pred forte would not cause this. You may need restasis. You need to be sure that your glasses RX is right especially that the reading segment is strong enough. When you read put drops like BLINK artifical tears in before you read, each 10 minutes look up from your reading, focus on something very far away like down the hall or out a window and make 5-6 very hard, strong blinks.
4310107 tn?1352840858 I am finding my eyes seem to be burning quite a bit. Does this go along with the disease or maybe the meds?
Avatar f tn I tried OTC preservative free drops, lotemax, restasis, omega 3 fish oil, and am drinking a lot of water. My remedies are helping but this condition is awful and I'm not sure if I'm doing enough to reduce the symptoms. Is there anything else I can try to help my condition? I know that my pink eye had something to do with my tear production so I was hoping someone else had a similar experience and had a successful remedy to deal with this.
Avatar n tn Dry eye first time ever. Cannot sleep through the night. Also bad while on computer. Gritty, burning, painful. Dr used the plug. Have tried systane, refresh, with ointment at night and restasis. Warm cloths. Can you help?
Avatar f tn My eyes experience a mild redness (especially in the inside corners of eyes), burning, uncomfortable irritation with increased light sensitivity for the past three months that occurred initially during a trial of Xalatan (I was not wearing contact lenses at the time). I've been to three opthalmologists (one is a repected corneal/external disease specialist at university).
Avatar f tn Ask your ophthalmologist about putting you on a steroid drop like lotemax for several weeks to stop the cyclosporin burning.
Avatar n tn - Persistent pain and feeling of burning sensations. Difficult for her to sleep as a result. - Light sensitivity. - Multiple cases of severe red eye. Most recent issue lasted for two weeks in her left eye and was painful throughout. - Constant feeling of strain. She is using several inflammatory medications/eyedrops but none are helping that much. I also bought her a humidifier to use during the nighttime, but that doesn't seem to be helping much either.
Avatar m tn Over the past 2 weeks, eyes so dry, they wake me up, burning, very blurry vision...put in drops once or twice per night and throughout the day. Last week, noted vision much more diminished bilaterally. Eyes very red and slightly swollen. Now vision is foggy at times, like it was after LASIK, but not as foggy as it initially was after this procedure. I have hx of migraines. The past year they have been really under control. Now they are coming back...related to eyes?
Avatar n tn For aqueous deficincy you can try artificial tears like hypotears and standard dry eye treatment or if nothing works restasis. It is unlikely you have ocular candidiasis.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Restasis for about 6 weeks. I have noticed the burning sensation you have discussed. What is the success rate for Restasis for people who have tried it and stuck to the Restasis program.
Avatar m tn So ghosting that goes away with pinhole effect may be tear film problems and possibly not a refractive error? The reason I ask is because the ghosting started after overusing visine for about two weeks and I just don't understand how that could cause a need for glasses. It seems more likely that there is a tear film issue. Artificial tears just make it worse and I've been on restasis for around three months + and I don't know if it's helping.
Avatar f tn I just got back from my optomologist & he prescribed for me Restasis. He mentioned that once you're on Restasis, it's an on going thing it's not really temporary. Is that the case, do I have to stay on it. I was hoping that once my eye is feeling better, I could just use artificial tears to keep my eyes from drying so badly. He also changed my contact lenses to Acuvue Oasys. Any advice or info would be great.............................
Avatar n tn My ophthalmologist recently prescribed restasis for dry eyes. I read that cyclosporin can causes cancer. Is this true? Are these drops safe?
Avatar f tn Cataracts removed July and August 2009. Severe burning both eyes. MD states dry eye reason for problem. Using Restasis twice daily, also Genteel eye drops several times daily and Genteel lubricant at bedtime. Problem is unresolved. Is there a solution to this problem or do I just have to learn to live with the constant burning. I am concerned that all of these drops may eventually have an impact on my vision.
