Requip time release

Common Questions and Answers about Requip time release

requip

Avatar m tn Don't know what you're working on. Time release is slow release. When I managed health food stores the saying about time release was, expensive urine or bowel movements, since the body evacuates before the stuff comes out of the capsule.
Avatar f tn our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs, the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.
Avatar f tn as much as I could and then it seemed to release a little of the leg and arm tightening. Also, try rubbing your legs and then your arms for a while and then when you stop it seems to help a little. Getting your mind off of it will help too. Try not to lay in bed and think about it....if you are not sleeping at least try to read or watch tv. I am on day 21 and it seems like yesterday that I was where you are. You will get there and it will get so much easier.
Avatar f tn I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
Avatar f tn This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney, liver, congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to  neuro.
620048 tn?1358018235 My pulmomologist gave me ropinirole (Requip) because i have so much movement in my limbs, especially my feet, when I am sleeping and when I am awake too. I was looking up the drug and i found this side effect........ 'Some people using ropinirole have developed a gambling habit. It is not known whether ropinirole actually causes this effect. Talk with your doctor if you believe you have an unusual urge to gamble while you are taking ropinirole.
Avatar f tn I dont know if this will help @ this time, but I think if you go back to hot baths w/epsom salts then wrap your legs with ace bandages that will give some relief. maybe until you get to the Dr. Good luck, and good for you on 78 days!!!
Avatar f tn Just gave 2 excedrine pm.. Does anyone know how much Requip needed?
Avatar n tn Has anybody had success with requip? If so, what dosage of requip worked for you? They have .25, .5, 1.0, and 2.0. Do you take the medicine at night only or during the day too? I really appreciate your help. I made it 14 days off hydros last year, but the RLS was agonizing and I gave in. I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help ease this upcoming hell.
Avatar n tn They can last for several hours and occur any time during the day or night. They occur every day and all the time. The only relief I get is with Requip. I have to keep it in my system. Of course I stay drowsy all the time and have occasional nausea. I have tried other drugs but none have worked. My neurologist said that they are from lesions in my spinal cord. My question is: has any one else experienced this and have they found relief from other means without the bad side effects?
Dog Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.
Avatar f tn When is it a good time to go on leave if you work but its not harsh work just sit down office work??
Avatar f tn I HAVE RLS FOR MANY YEARS AND I AM ON 3MG REQUIP AND 1 MG KLONPIN, THAT HAS BEEN HELPING UP TO NOW. I DISCOVERED THAT MY THYROID IS VERY LOW. COULD THAT BE WHY MY RLS IS GETTING WORSE. I REALLY NEED SOME SLEEP!!! WHAT OTHER MEDS ARE HELPFUL. I REALLY HAVE ALOT OF PAIN IN MY LEGS ALSO. THANKS FOR AMY HELP.
1390101 tn?1281000559 Hi kraz, welcome to the forum ! congrats on controling the gambling addiction and wow... i could have never imagined a side effect like it from taking something for RLS, that's really sad. what we advise here for RLS are OTC remedies since it's a side effect of withdrawling/detoxing from opiates and it's a matter of time for us. I'm sure you have already tried every otc remedy.... Hylands, supplemnts, potasium/mag rich food, hot baths with epsom salts , etc....
Avatar f tn But you could go get some a rx called Requip from your dr..it is specifically for that..also did you use any supplements when you went cold turkey?? potassium for rls..etc.. eagle pretty much covered it..it's not a bed of roses..but it won't last forever..good luck and keep posting..
Avatar n tn At the time I just thought it was a bad dream, but now it is happening more frequently and it seems so real I don't know what to think anymore. I wake up whether it is from a nap or in the middle of the night and I can not move my body. I can not talk or breath. My eyes are open and I am where I fell asleep. After a little while I black out and when I finally wake up I feel exhausted and have a blurry memory of what happened. One time I was having a nap with my boyfriend and it happened.
Avatar f tn Today was my big 10! I feel great. I do still have my rls but I take Requip at night and it makes me sleep like a baby! Ready to watch some titans football tonight and leave for Florida vacation in two weeks!
Avatar f tn lots of bubbles first and less at the end. Extended release versions try to even the bubbles for the referenced time. At the end of the referenced time the amount of medicine has waned enough that if the next dose is late you will not be maintaining a consistent level in your system. This is not only hard on a body, but effects the quality of treatment.
1591337 tn?1297101349 Well, this sounds alot like restless leg syndrome, and they have other meds for this like Requip, ask your MD about this and if your symptoms sound like you have this and you can start to sleep better! Good Luck!
Avatar n tn I started taking Requip last year for RLS. I just happen to mention to my doctor that I had leg pain during the night. She had given me a trial pack but left it at home when I went to my daughters for the weekend. I had only been taking it a few days and when I didn't have it to take I thought i was dying. It is like I am addited to this drug. I can't come off of it. I have started having shooting pains in my legs and find that I am having to take it more often.
