Every other sleep aid made above symptoms worse. Did tapered Requip withdrawal while adding the sinemet. Right now taking 1/2 afternoon and 1 at night.Offers little help with night RLS. None with bad waking. Horrible to go back to where I was after those months of peaceful nights and NORMAL waking. Any help welcome.
This result met with little concern. After diagnosis RLS 10/07 started Requip. Worked like magic from first .Actual RLS symptoms abated, bad wakings CEASED. Was at 2 mg nightly. End 1/08 small weight gain, minor edema. Short of breath. Suddenly symptoms increased.Gained more than 25 lbs in 10 weeks.Feet/ ankles/ fingers/abdomen terribly swollen. All sorts of tests including kidney,liver,congestive heart failure. No answers. Back to neuro.
His problems were actually lymes disease so that may have been why, but I took ultram years ago in the beginning of my abdominal symptoms and for a while it did a great job of lessing my symptoms! I grew a tolerance to it after a long while but so many people have found great benifit from it for so many differnt kinds of pain and conditions.
Please dont ever tolerate side effects or feeling from a medication if they make you uncomfortable.
our father who is 78 is starting to hallucinate he was hospitalized about a month ago for pneumonia.he was also taking requip for his restless legs,the doc. took him off of requip because of side affects 4 days ago. we dont know if that could be the cause of his condition or not,he also had a cat scan of the brain, it was normal.he sees people that are not there, he realizes later that it is not real. he is getting depressed and scared,we dont know what to do anymore.
2 months later, dyskinesia occurred in tongue/jaw, drooling returned. Sinemet dosage then was decreased to 2 per day 25/250 (9am, 2pm), Requip 0.125 (9pm). Dyskinesia improved. 1.5 month ago, teeth grinding started day and night. She is now taking 3 per day sinemet 25/175, 25/175, 25/100 (9 am, 1pm, 5:30pm), and Requip 0.125 every other day(9pm). Teeth grinding improved 50% at least (5:30pm sinemet uses low dosage because it looks like impact her falling into sleep even with Rozerem.

About 3 years ago I began waking in the middle of the night (3-4am) with sever cramps, go to the bathroom, have all the symptoms to pass out, then find myself on the floor. Indeed, I pass out. At first this happened 4x in 2 years, now it is every 3 months. I can not connect any food to it or pattern. Does this sound like a Gastroenterology or Cardiologist issue? I take zoloft for depression & clonopin for anxiety (heart flutters) & requip at night for resless leg syndrome.

That's fantastic news that you slept 'like a baby'. (Sounds to me like you're one of the lucky ones!) I'm so glad to hear that the Requip worked. Do you have other symptoms? Please, try to remember to hydrate properly [it's super important in detox & speeds it along.
read the Thomas Recipe and the Amino Acid Profile and follow them....they work. It wont be a bed of roses, but the bad part will take from 4-7 days of fluish symptoms and then get better and better.......ask more questions if you have them....magnesium/calcium and things can be added to bathwater to help with rls - and the supplements will also help. Some others are quite good at helping sleep issues.........
Has anybody had success with requip? If so, what dosage of requip worked for you? They have .25, .5, 1.0, and 2.0.
Do you take the medicine at night only or during the day too?
I really appreciate your help. I made it 14 days off hydros last year, but the RLS was agonizing and I gave in. I want to do EVERYTHING I can to help ease this upcoming hell.

What are your current thyroid hormone levels? Be sure to post reference ranges with results, since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. You should be getting tested periodically for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. Do you have other symptoms of over medication, such as weight loss, diarrhea, tremors, etc. Do you have Hashimoto's?

Just taking an amount over the prescribed dose is NOT the definition of an overdose.
Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.
I've got severe RLS 24/7 and have been taking Requip for the past several years, Mirapex before that. It's gotten worse lately so the doctor had me go cold turkey 5 days ago. He gave me Klonopin to take at night, but it doesn't do anything other than make me even more tired. I managed to get 6 hours sleep on day 4, but that's it for the whole week. The doctor says that I can't go back on the dopamines (Requip) since they have started augmentation (making the RLS worse).
Overdose Of Paracetamol often shows NO SYMPTOMS within the first 24 hours after the overdose. In some cases although there may be mild nausea and vomiting. If the overdose is large then liver function may start deteriorating leading to either of these; jaundice, confusion, and loss of consciousness. Death due to overdose of Paracetamol is rare but when it occurs it is in majority of cases due to liver failure.
I am not suicidal. I am being prescribed Lithium daily. I like to know as much as I can about my meds. I know the lethal dose of lithium is about 5gs or 5000mgs which is about 5 times what I am prescribed. I also have looked up the symptoms of lithium toxicity (not fun). But I can't seem to fine anywhere how long after a lethal amount or a small overdose (such as 1 accidental extra dose) on top of toxicity symptoms would start to show or when death would take place.
