Avatar n tn I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc? I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.
Avatar f tn I have been taking aricept for about 9 months. It is hard to tell if there is an improvement. It has been a while since I forgot my way home but I still forget a lot of little stuff. I keep taking it because I am convinced it cant hurt anything and it just might help a little.

Avatar n tn Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. It help to hear from other who are going through the same thing. I have another question... if there is a relapse/flareup are their any other medications other then steroids to treat the "symptoms"? I had a terrible allergic reaction to solu-medrol yesterday, and if this is the only drug available to "treat the symptoms" then that gives me more incentive to look more closely at the available meds.

Avatar n tn Foul as in notably bad can be bacteria and antibiotics are used to treat this. Diseases are not a concern. Most likely this is the natural smell and not a problem. But if the odor becomes quite strong, you can be checked at the doctor's. They simply swab the discharge and look at it under a microscope to see what it is. Then they treat it. Nothing serious!
Avatar f tn I finished my treatment 2 weeks ago. I am SVR!!! BUT...that has come at a price. One week after finishing treatment, I started feeling constantly nervous, heart pounding, sweaty and muscle weakness. My dr., sent me to have my TSH checked. Well, I have hyperthyroidism because of this treatment. I have to have a Nuclear Medicine scan to see if it is autoimmune Grave's Disease and to find out if the treatment has destroyed my thyroid. My point is not to discourage anyone from treatment.
Avatar n tn the best thing to do is get a biopsy, and then do tx as you are so young you have a good chance of having few sides, and a good chance of clearing.dont wait, i did and i regret it now.

Avatar n tn Oh by the way...see if you can get it preauthorized by your insurance company. It is very expensive (epogen was a box of ten for over $6,000 and only lasted me five weeks) and i had a bit of trouble but my pharmacist helped me big time to get it to go through. And if you can then perhaps if this doctor doesn't go through with it you can find a hemotologist who understands the need for the meds when you are under ten........which feels pretty damn bad as I remember.
Avatar f tn the vagina will instantly work (complete for three days) due to the huge amounts of lauric acid it contains that is a natural bacteria killer. I have used it personally and have recommended it to everyone I know with any sort of "kitty bug"..i.e.:bv, yeast infection, etc. And it has worked instantly for.all of us. Feel better soon!!
3112631 tn?1356653557 Wow, Zygy -- you've been through so much! My symptoms have really ramped up over the last week and so my "to treat or not to treat" question is suddenly moving more into the "when I treat" realm. I haven't had a break in headache in a week and a half (I know, not bad in chiari-land, but something I haven't dealt with in a while). Also, my dizziness is severe and I had a blackout the other night as well.
