Avatar n tn When does not she listen - when it comes to a particular activity (small group vs. large group vs. solitary.....). Just ask teacher to jot down times of the day and activities when she "does not obey". You are most likely to see a pattern.
296076 tn?1371334474 Much depends on the child involved, but I do think that where ever possible, young offenders should be treated and an attempt at rehabilitation rather then just punishment. Punishment does have to be a part of it though as accountability is important. I don't think we should be too quick to lock em up and throw away the key. Kids do stupid and impulsive things. At that age we know their brains are fully functioning and good decisions are not always there.
Avatar m tn Theoretically HIV is hard to transmit even for high risk behavior such as anal sex wich is 3% and unporotected vaginal would be around 1/1000, but how come new cases all over the worl are increasing? is there a difference between the theoreticall aspect vs what is really out there ...
Avatar m tn It is tough because you have so many people in prison and you have to balance that with expense. It would be good to do actual rehabilitation with inmates but the cost would be more then anyone could take.
Avatar m tn Would he have learned anything in prison, something like rehabilitation? Probably not, but at least he would have been incarcerated and not able to be involved with this. Where do situations like this leave us? This kid didn't learn anything from his first scrape with the law. Chances are, this won't be his last either. He'll do some time for this, but when he gets out his gang will give him "props" and he will have garnered more respect from his fellow gang members.
Avatar n tn I have had one stent (non-medicated) after a minor heart incident 7 years ago. A recent stress stest showed some new abnormality. I really do not have many if any symptoms - other than some occasional pain (very infrequent) and occasional cold hands. My doctor is recommending the cardiac cath - but he indicates that the statistics don't increase that greatly with having a cath and possible stent insertion. The question is to have a cardiac cath or not? Or is medication sufficient?
Avatar f tn about what is acceptable behavior amongst friends vs family vs neighbors vs strangers (like the cashier at the store or librarian). AND what is okay for kids to do/not do, adults do/don't do, etc...... He and I both agreed that only our PDA will be conducted far from her presence...but a quick hug & peck is okay. this evening I'm going to make a game of it..of like pretend & dress up. "Mami is pretending to be a little girl again....
Avatar f tn t yet told him that I have herpes, but when I do I want to be able to say that the risk of transmission is very low (when combining daily suppressive drugs and condoms). I read a lot of statistics about Valtrex, but not as many about Acyclovir. Are both drugs just as effective in preventing transmission? Also, should I be taking 400 mg twice a day instead of once? My doctor has been down playing the issue a lot and only gave me the prescription to take it daily bc I asked her to.
Avatar n tn My surgeon comes well recommended. Can anyone provide statistics on % success for this surgery vs % complications? Also, what kind of typical vision improvement?

569422 tn?1232497890 Does anyone have any information on the likelyhood of conceiving a boy vs. girl when IUI is used? or has anyone had a boy or girl with IUI?
1508698 tn?1360215710 Hi all!! I am looking into going to a outpatient rehabilitation center. I was wondering if anyone here has ever gone, what all it included, if you liked it, and the price. Just wanted some input from people who have gone so I will know what to expect.
Avatar n tn He now has scoliosis because of poor posture, massive headaches and ear aches, hallucinations, and other problems due to being depressed and given up. We really want to find a home where he can be among people with the same rehabilitation challenges. It would be ideal if the home offered psychologist and a physical therapist; however, even if the home had one or the other it would be better than his situation right now. He just sits at home doing nothing.
441506 tn?1267533765 Hi, I was wondering what an appropriate punishment is for my dog who poops on the rug overnight when she is feeling mad about something, like she wanted treats for supper and got diet food instead, so she did it, and the next night I made her sleep in a closed off area so she wouldn't hit the rug again, and she pooped out there. She was let out before bed, and can easily hold off till we get up, since she does hold off except when she gets in a "mood". How can I stop this?
Avatar f tn All of these are issues but not sure what are the biggest concerns when it comes to getting the additional days in rehabilitation approved.
120574 tn?1240767840 Reading the survival number of weeks on the drug reports, such as doxil, or topotecan. Claiming for eg. 235 people 63 weeks vs 60 weeks on a different drug. Do you mean to tell me they followed all of these people until they died or are is it based on something else. Somehow some of the numbers do not make any sense. Can someone tell me what they know about this?
