Common Questions and Answers about Rehabilitation technology

Avatar n tn Please suggest us what to do? Is there a proper treatment or advance technology anywhere in the world where we can expect some positive result.
Avatar m tn I am currently a student at Loughborough University Design School studying Industrial Design & Technology. For one of my final year projects I am intending to design a product/service that aids stroke survivors through rehabilitation and the transition back to day to day activities. The brief also touches on making assistive technologies more aesthetically pleasing, moving away from large chunky white handrails for example.
Avatar f tn Religious rehabilitation might be the best option for your situation. Nerves, unfortunately, do not regenerate or reconstruct by themselves and the technology I'm afraid is still not available. Orthoses may also help in getting control of the foot and legs that may aid you in performing daily tasks. I hope you can cope very well with this situation. Regards and God bless.
Avatar m tn Would he have learned anything in prison, something like rehabilitation? Probably not, but at least he would have been incarcerated and not able to be involved with this. Where do situations like this leave us? This kid didn't learn anything from his first scrape with the law. Chances are, this won't be his last either. He'll do some time for this, but when he gets out his gang will give him "props" and he will have garnered more respect from his fellow gang members.
1397193 tn?1280445399 There is nothing available to completely restore vision to those with optic nerve loss. Technology is changing and there are being advances made that may one day help...and the best place to see what can be done for your son is to see a doctor at a teaching hospital such as Johns Hopkins, or Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the Univ. of Miami. Also, continue with any vision rehabilitation through the help of O&M instructors, VRTs, etc.
Avatar m tn I think that it is being developed by the Shanghai Sundise Chinese Medicine Technology company. The link below may be helpful. http://www.cmjournal.
1508698 tn?1360215710 Hi all!! I am looking into going to a outpatient rehabilitation center. I was wondering if anyone here has ever gone, what all it included, if you liked it, and the price. Just wanted some input from people who have gone so I will know what to expect.
Avatar n tn He now has scoliosis because of poor posture, massive headaches and ear aches, hallucinations, and other problems due to being depressed and given up. We really want to find a home where he can be among people with the same rehabilitation challenges. It would be ideal if the home offered psychologist and a physical therapist; however, even if the home had one or the other it would be better than his situation right now. He just sits at home doing nothing.
Avatar f tn All of these are issues but not sure what are the biggest concerns when it comes to getting the additional days in rehabilitation approved.
Avatar f tn If I may make a suggestion, as you stated, things are pretty tight for you, but I would suggest you look into a new evolving medical non-drug technology called EEG Neurofeedback. My wife is getting this treatment and I am wowed by the way it is helping her. Her three day attacks are down to about one day now and this is after having only seven treatments.
Avatar m tn This includes rest, anti-inflammatory medications, and rehabilitation therapy. If the neurosurgeon believes this is a symptomatic tethered cord, it is also important to evaluate the shunt before considering an untethering procedure, because tethered cord symptoms can result from shunt problems. Because the backs of adults are thicker than children, the surgery is somewhat more involved in adults.
Avatar m tn you need rehabilitation in any brain surgey, come again and we will set an appointment. The next time she said:rehabilitation is done only when she cant move a leg or arm. I am aware of the neuropsyhiatry and the test and everything. I want to make sure she gets the right treatment and doesnt waste these 6 months. Thats why I am asking her so I can make the deference between truth and real. I am looking around until I find the doctor that gives me the correct questions.
Avatar f tn The answer could go from complete rest to modification of activities and rehabilitation or just rehabilitation. If the tear isn't complete and isn't restricting your activities, rehabilitation is typically a great way to recover from an injury. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Avatar m tn Hello Dear, Disability affects 75% of stroke survivors. Some of the physical disabilities that can result from stroke include paralysis, numbness, inability to perform movements, difficulties carrying out daily activities, appetite loss, speech loss vision loss, and pain.
Avatar m tn Therefore, this may be associated with headache, numbness and paralysis like symptoms. If stoke occurs unfortunately, rehabilitation is the only effective way to help the patient regain function to the possible extent and prevent from permanent losses. If rehabilitation program is appropriately instituted, most of the stroke patients can regain maximum functions with appropriate therapy, training and support services.
Avatar m tn I been reading an article how the tech culture, and technology appeals to autistic people, the article didn't really go into why technology attracts autistic people, could anyone explain this for me? Thanks!
Avatar f tn He is still very aware and conscious. Is there hope or rehabilitation for pons stroke patient and what advise can you give the family. He is being considered for home care facility.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. Generally, rehabilitation is the only effective way to help you to regain function in better way and prevent from permanent losses after tumor removal. If rehabilitation program is appropriately instituted, most of the stroke patients can regain maximum functions with appropriate therapy, training and support services.
1226884 tn?1272081604 I can understand your worrying concerns about post-stroke recovery. Unfortunately, rehabilitation is the only effective way to help the patient regain function to the possible extent and prevent from permanent losses. If rehabilitation program is appropriately instituted, most of the stroke patients can regain maximum functions with appropriate therapy, training and support services.
Avatar f tn The more opportunities she has with interacting with everyone (without the influence of a drugged state) the sooner her rehabilitation can occur. Keep in mind that she may not be able to speak at all, or feed herself, or walk for a very long time...
