1508698 tn?1360215710 Hi all!! I am looking into going to a outpatient rehabilitation center. I was wondering if anyone here has ever gone, what all it included, if you liked it, and the price. Just wanted some input from people who have gone so I will know what to expect.
Avatar m tn you need rehabilitation in any brain surgey, come again and we will set an appointment. The next time she said:rehabilitation is done only when she cant move a leg or arm. I am aware of the neuropsyhiatry and the test and everything. I want to make sure she gets the right treatment and doesnt waste these 6 months. Thats why I am asking her so I can make the deference between truth and real. I am looking around until I find the doctor that gives me the correct questions.
Avatar m tn Would he have learned anything in prison, something like rehabilitation? Probably not, but at least he would have been incarcerated and not able to be involved with this. Where do situations like this leave us? This kid didn't learn anything from his first scrape with the law. Chances are, this won't be his last either. He'll do some time for this, but when he gets out his gang will give him "props" and he will have garnered more respect from his fellow gang members.
993216 tn?1249433121 Hi Linda Have you had a stroke? Was your arm affected? If so there could be a number of reasons for your current problem. It may be 1. a degree of subluxation (separation) of the shoulder. 2. some degree of spasticity. 3. central (thalamic) pain syndrome 4. an injury In order to get the correct diagnosis & treatment,, I would suggest discussing this with your rehabilitation medicine specialist &/or your physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
Avatar f tn You require an MRI of the lumbar region (L1-L5) and an appointment as soon as possible with a rehabilitation specialist who will demonstrate several exercises you must perform every day to reduce the swelling. The sooner you see a rehab specialist the better. This condition will not improve with ice-paks or ibuprufin. The money spent on this specialist will be the best money you ever spent.

Avatar n tn doesnt believe theres anything wrong with me and my neurologist couldnt explain my headaches and thought my backpain was tension. I dont know what to do next or what specialist I could see that will actually help me.
Avatar f tn I am not sure anyone here can answer your questions about the wheelchair....but a true Chiari specialist should be able to give you the info. The symptoms are very similar to MS...and each of us will experience it differently.... There is a Chiari specialist in CO...not sure if you can travel....but that might be your best option at this point.
Avatar n tn He now has scoliosis because of poor posture, massive headaches and ear aches, hallucinations, and other problems due to being depressed and given up. We really want to find a home where he can be among people with the same rehabilitation challenges. It would be ideal if the home offered psychologist and a physical therapist; however, even if the home had one or the other it would be better than his situation right now. He just sits at home doing nothing.
Avatar f tn All of these are issues but not sure what are the biggest concerns when it comes to getting the additional days in rehabilitation approved.
Avatar m tn t gone away for over a year. I do not know which specialist is best suited to treat my symptoms. A chiropractor, rheumatologist, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapist, massage therapist, orthopedic. A little history. I was obese and started walking several miles every other day or so. Everything was going well, until I started experiencing pain in my lower back.
Avatar m tn a Counselor, a Physician [general practitioner], a Specialist, etc). Also, let them know of your weed smoking. You did not specify how long you've been smoking weed, but let your specialist know that also. I don't know if the marijuana has contributed to your possible depression or not, but I'm sure it did not help it at all. Recreational drugs are different from medicines prescribed by a Doctor.
Avatar f tn I did see a doctor (not a surgeon or specialist) and they told me that the little finger is not an important finger on your hand and a surgeon wouldn't be interested in treating me. I have noticed for the past few months that both fingers but especially my little finger is becoming painful. My little finger stays in a curled position although I wouldn't say it feels really stiff. Could this be some type of tendon problem?
Avatar f tn Have you had this assessed by a rehabilitation medicine specialist? You may need a complete assessment to rule out any nerve impingement. The pain may benefit from physical therapy. Have you tried taking any pain relievers for this?
Avatar n tn Then you should get a referral to a rehabilitation specialist who will demonstrate several exercises and watch as you show you have learned them. You have to be careful when lifting (use the knees and keep the spine vertical) and avoid all heavy lifting in the future. A TENS device is helpful in relieving pain. It works in a way similar to accupuncture. A surgical procedure called a laminectomy is an end-of-the-line option.
Avatar n tn I do suggest that you discuss this first with your physician. A referral to a rehabilitation medicine specialist or a sports medicine specialist may be able to help you. A complete physical examination including tests for range of motion should be able to identify which muscles are likely involved.
Avatar m tn Aside from the surgery, I believe that physical therapy with guided excercises (under the supervision of a rehabilitation medicine specialist) can help lessen the pain. The medications such as Lyrica would also be helpful, as well as other drugs such as Gabapentin (but make sure you ask your doctor about this). Some people would go for alternative eastern treatment such as accupuncture or accupressure and this has offered relief, or decreased in medication requirements for some people.
Avatar n tn Your doctor or cardiac rehabilitation specialist will give you guidelines for walking when you return home. •Get a good night’s sleep. If you feel tired, go to bed early. Be careful not to nap too much during the day or you may have difficulty sleeping at night. •Check with your doctor to confirm activity guidelines. Recovery after valve surgery may take a long time, depending on how healthy you were before the operation. You will have to rest and limit your activities.
Avatar f tn They put in a feeding tube during the time of recovery, as he need to be put on a breathing machine to assist (not full life support). When that bout was over, he was sent to a Rehabilitation Hospital, he was over fed his first meal, and to my understanding, not the appropriate foods to begin with, and that night, he was rushed back to ER as he struggled to breathe, and found the food had aspirated in his lungs while he was asleep.
Avatar n tn neuro or spine surgeon, rehabilitation medicine specialist, or a physical therapist. It is recommended that you ask your doctor about this angle, and see if this can be remedied both by surgical and non-surgical means. Regards.
Avatar f tn The answer could go from complete rest to modification of activities and rehabilitation or just rehabilitation. If the tear isn't complete and isn't restricting your activities, rehabilitation is typically a great way to recover from an injury. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Avatar m tn He suggested a pain management specialist, but getting to one with my work schedule may be very very difficult. Can anyone reccommend any good exercises to help along with this? He suggested walking would help a lot (and it does already) but said I should go see the pain management specialist he reccommended. Thoughts? Strange I am not in more pain and the pain I've been having mostly seems to be around C1-C2 area, which came back normal on the MRI. Go figure!
Avatar n tn You may need a second opinion from a doctor other than a GYN/OB. I'd suggest an Orthopedic Specialist. There are a lot of new therapies for spine rehabilitation.
