Common Questions and Answers about Rehabilitation medicare

Avatar n tn I am looking to find a rehabilitation facility for my nephew while my sister is being treated for aggresive chemotherapy? He is incontinent, has vision problems and has not seen a doctor in years. What kind of facility could I send him so he can get the proper care and attention he needs while my sister is ill? It looks as though I may get custodial rights and would like to know the best possible choices to make in a short period of time. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Under the health care law, the penalties gradually will rise until 3 percent of Medicare payments to hospitals are at risk. Medicare is considering holding hospitals accountable on four more measures: joint replacements, stenting, heart bypass and treatment of stroke. If General Motors and Toyota issue warranties for their vehicles, hospitals should have some similar obligation when a patient gets a new knee or a stent to relieve a blocked artery, Santa contends.
Avatar n tn My dad had several insurances along with medicare, but the social worker said medicare gave him a checkout date, and that was it. I asked if that could be appealed if he had more work to do or progress to make, but she said no. I have learned now we *could* have appealed it, but we think they just wanted to move him along. At Providence, we *still* learned nothing of his prognosis, what the future could hold, recovery options afterwards.
Avatar m tn Would he have learned anything in prison, something like rehabilitation? Probably not, but at least he would have been incarcerated and not able to be involved with this. Where do situations like this leave us? This kid didn't learn anything from his first scrape with the law. Chances are, this won't be his last either. He'll do some time for this, but when he gets out his gang will give him "props" and he will have garnered more respect from his fellow gang members.
Avatar m tn I have been involved in stroke rehabilitation for the super elderly with great success. Without exception, I have found the professional services not worth the powder to blow them to Mars. The "consultants" charge $200 an hour. First of all, do not give up hope. (1) Hire your own help to assist in rehabilitation. A person does not need a degree to hold an elderly woman's hand. There is no substitute for TLC and love. (2) Spend as much time as possible with the person.
Avatar n tn Hello again...I've gotten a little happy with the posts, and I hope no one minds. OK...this one is complicated. I am currently on Medicare/Medicaid and social security disability (I'm 28). I am wanting to go back to school (I have 2 bachelor's degrees) and get a masters in teaching grades 5-8. Thing is, the insurance company that covers teachers in South Carolina is Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Avatar m tn I have medicare in California I will enroll in it next month,I have liver transplant with hcv and cirrhosis ,I need to find out how medicare and if medicare pay for sovaldi and olysio.
Avatar f tn This is random i know. So i faxed over my new adress and stuff for medicare and its been literally almost a month since and still waiting for approval and i was just wondering if im not sure if i have it yet that i can just go into the hospital in the outpatient section for treatment because im literally almost 4 months preg and still have not seen a doc. even for an ultrasound for christ sake.... can somebody tell me how i can get immediate care?
Avatar f tn I discovered that they receive less than half what they charge from medicare. Find a clinic that specializes in medicare and high volume cataract surgeries since they have stream lined their practice to live within those guidelines and they still make a fair profit. If you wait for Obama care you're screwed. At any rate, your vision has a higher priority than almost anything and well worth getting a second job if necessary. Don't put it off.
1508698 tn?1360215710 Hi all!! I am looking into going to a outpatient rehabilitation center. I was wondering if anyone here has ever gone, what all it included, if you liked it, and the price. Just wanted some input from people who have gone so I will know what to expect.
Avatar n tn He now has scoliosis because of poor posture, massive headaches and ear aches, hallucinations, and other problems due to being depressed and given up. We really want to find a home where he can be among people with the same rehabilitation challenges. It would be ideal if the home offered psychologist and a physical therapist; however, even if the home had one or the other it would be better than his situation right now. He just sits at home doing nothing.
Avatar f tn All of these are issues but not sure what are the biggest concerns when it comes to getting the additional days in rehabilitation approved.
Avatar n tn Working with a physical therapist after such surgery helps prevent or minimize walking with a limp. Rehabilitation post surgery is very important. I see that your husband did physical therapy but that it didn't prevent limping. That is unfortunate. I am also very sorry to hear that he is still in pain. The statistic also is that 20% of people who have hip pinning have another fracture within 2 years of the initial one. https://www.webmd.
Avatar m tn you need rehabilitation in any brain surgey, come again and we will set an appointment. The next time she said:rehabilitation is done only when she cant move a leg or arm. I am aware of the neuropsyhiatry and the test and everything. I want to make sure she gets the right treatment and doesnt waste these 6 months. Thats why I am asking her so I can make the deference between truth and real. I am looking around until I find the doctor that gives me the correct questions.
148588 tn?1465778809 This is a state that has prisoners out in that desert living in tents, no belief in rehabilitation, its all about punishment. In a state that was part of Mexico, has had indigenous peoples living there for centuries crossing borders to visit family, there is mass arrests against those who are not white skinned. OMG, why did you get me started? Sorry, I'm going back to my painting.
Avatar m tn I suggest you discuss your condition with the operating physician. You should also ask about chronic pain rehabilitation programs. You may be a candidate. Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
Avatar f tn The answer could go from complete rest to modification of activities and rehabilitation or just rehabilitation. If the tear isn't complete and isn't restricting your activities, rehabilitation is typically a great way to recover from an injury. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Avatar n tn I don't want any more feckless rehabilitation, I'm just going to check if this injury is temporary, if not, I give up.
572651 tn?1530999357 Less than 1% of people on SSDI ever return to the workforce, even though rehabilitation or training for another position could possibly make the difference. There were three main points in conclusion for this article --- 1) there needs to be training programs to get people back to work rather than remain on SSDI. 2) changes in eligibility requirements and the administration of the funds are overdue.
Avatar m tn I will be on my last of 12-week treatment, with maybe traces still detected when I turn 65 and have to use Medicare. Coverage is great until then. The the medicare sales people know of no company that accepts Solivar since they are going by last year's sheet. Does anyone know where any updating is being done to reflect Solivar in their policy?
