Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Vicodin 10mg. and taking 3-4 daily for the past 5 years. I desperately want to get off and am open to entering a rehab center, but currently have no insurance. Is there any facilites out there that I can go to without having insurance? I have tried to ween off and can deal with the dysenteria, ringing in my ears, flu-like symptoms, but I can not deal with my leggs wanting to run with me and that overwhelming anxious feeling.
Avatar m tn The above situation goes back 2 years before this most recent attack. Charges were dropped on this kid for attempted murder. Was anything learned? Apparently not. Would he have learned anything in prison, something like rehabilitation? Probably not, but at least he would have been incarcerated and not able to be involved with this. Where do situations like this leave us? This kid didn't learn anything from his first scrape with the law.
Avatar f tn We are encouraged to send her to a skilled nursing facility for further rehabilitation, however we are not sure when for they had not given us a discharge date for my grandmother. My question is, as soon as my grandmother receives the rehabilitation treatment, how long will it take for her to be able to walk or talk again? Would she be at risk for a stroke happening again? And how would this affect her life span? Any help would do. Thank you very much for your time.

Avatar f tn We understand it is an insurance issue but we might be willing to pay out of pocket for additional days for her. She will need 24/7 care at this time. She currently has no where to go that would not require stairs and she’s not able to do that yet. We have workers at her home making the adjustments for her but need another week for her to have bathroom on same level of home.
296076 tn?1371334474 Van Plew says he, his wife and their two young children already were in bed, but Van Plew gave chase and caught one of the four pranksters. Police say the boy suffered cuts and bruises as Van Plew subdued him, so they arrested Van Plew for endangering the welfare of a child. Police say none of the four kids was arrested because they are juveniles.
1508698 tn?1360215710 Hi all!! I am looking into going to a outpatient rehabilitation center. I was wondering if anyone here has ever gone, what all it included, if you liked it, and the price. Just wanted some input from people who have gone so I will know what to expect.

Avatar n tn You could try talking to a psychologist in your area and maybe see about getting him sent somewhere for juveniles. If you want something more done as far as charges or something call the police. I really dont think your daughter should have to live with him.
1197086 tn?1265117044 Your recovery is largely dependent on the quality of the rehabilitation program, your motivation and focus, and your post injury activity level. This is sufficient and with time you will gain enough strength. Do not try too many things during the initial 6 months. Take care!

Avatar f tn Few days later, after the contents were clear of lungs, (had xrays, stress test-due to shortness of breath prior to hospitalization, barium swallow test, full GI-every thing was clear), again back to the Rehabilitation Hospital for swallowing therapy-was doing well for past two weeks, until night before last while sleeping, he aspirated again, sending him back to the ER. He went for more tests, as they again are clearing out the gastric contents in his lungs.
Avatar f tn The answer could go from complete rest to modification of activities and rehabilitation or just rehabilitation. If the tear isn't complete and isn't restricting your activities, rehabilitation is typically a great way to recover from an injury. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Avatar n tn I suggest you contact vocational rehabilitation department or division of blind services in your state. You can always go to the local social security office in your area or the local hospital or a local cataract surgeon's office to try to find the phone numbers to these offices. These goverment offices are able to help many people like yourself.
Avatar m tn t mean all strokes are this way. My Mom had a massive stroke on 10/7/14 and was awake for a while, enough for all of us to get to the hospital (she was currently in the hospital for blood treatment). She was having her stroke and trying to communicate to us, etc, and it was really difficult to watch.. as well to write this :( She then fell asleep... what we though was sleeping, but she was really falling into a coma. We were told she would never wake up.
Avatar n tn 10 years ago, my son, now 28, was inflicted with serious head injuries from an auto accident in Houston, Texas. He was in comma for over 3 months. He now has mental, coognitive, emotional and behavioral issues typical of post TBI. 10 years have passed with us going around and around in US medical and legal system without any help. He has come long way from where he was immediately after the accident.
