Im a first time mom wondering if there are any books out there that really helped you guys understand things that are going on?
I have never read any books related to addiction, but I think it might help. I need some motivation to do this and maybe some inspiration. I have just started tapering and I am already struggling(mostly mentally).
her time at the rehab is covered under the hippa law which means that the doctors/staff agh the rehab CAN NOT i repeat CAN NOT tell anyone that is not on her treatment team any info about her unless she signs releases they can be in a lot of trouble if they reported her with out her breaking any law did she give consent to speak to the board of nursing about her condition?
gov and search nursing home comparisons. The issue I have is that none of the nursing homes actually mention rehab. My dad has a great attitude and is working hard at his therapy sessions. Can anyone offer advice on how to effectively research and screen facilitities to ensure that my dad continues therapy with the goal of going home? Thanks!
during his hospital stay a social worker was trying to find a rehab center or nursing home to take him, none of them would bcuz his social security check was too low and his tenncare would not pay. when he left hospital he was walking with assistance, using the bathroom and remembered some things like who we wer ect. now that he is home his behavior is bizzare and paronoid, he keeps falling and defacating everywhere.he does'nt sleep more than a few minutes.
After a stay in the hospital for 6 weeks we were told that she would never meet the requirements for a rehab program. She was sent to a nursing home but the family continued doing her exercise that we found helpful from the Internet and we used therapeutic needles daily to stimulate the nerves on her bad side. After a period of 5 months and getting her on a antidepressant we were able to get her to rehab. We were told first that she wouldn't live.
aftercare is something i forgot about after my last stint in rehab,stayed clean for 3 months and boredom took over and it didn't take long before i was back in the same situation.i went to my first aa meeting today in a long time and i loved it,thanks to a good friend that gave me a mental beating.i haven't felt this good in awhile.anyways i was given 2 books by my sister ,1 is called the power of now and the other is a book she ordered online called the alcohol and addiction cure.
And, if you have insurance or can find a way to afford it, get your husband out of a skilled nursing facility and into an acute or post-acute care rehab facility, preferably one that specializes in brain injuries.
My husband had a severe stroke in August and is currently in a neurorehab. He was paralyzed on the right side, lost his ability to speak intelligbly, had no sense of balance, couldn't swallow, short-term memory loss, and had many cognitive issues.
I lrft hospital ICU after 4or 5 days sent to nursing home for rehab but left AMA in early Oct. Able to walk w/o walker most of the time but balance is still impared. I cook some simple meals I do some easy household tasks. The depression is really getting me down. My husband tries very hard but I'm realizing I lrft rehab to early. So I try to help as much as I can.
Isn't there some web site you can check this out on or maybe in her union book. There must some information that came with her nursing license, like all the do's and don'ts. Or maybe an 1-800 number you can call anomysley (spelling) and ask these questions.
so my grandma is at this nursing home in huntington health and rehab. a worker there is giving out information about the resident (my grandmother) to outsiders; suchs as; people not working there, her kids, other people. this is going around the school about how my grandmother acts at a nursing home. and i want this to stop. is this illegal to give out information? tell me please. and if you get it from a website, type the web site in.

Pads, toiletries, phone charger. Underwear that you dont mind getting dirty. If youre nursing then pack a nursing bra and nursing breast pads. For the baby a couple outfits because you dont know how big theyll be. Im packing a nb and a 0-3m outfit. A hat. Socks. Maybe a sleeper. Idk what youre planning on dressing your baby in. Pack a blanket. The hospital usually sends home nb diapers with you. But you can pack some in the diaper bag if u want. Thats everything that im packing.
I had pain 2 weeks ago in my R calf and now I have no pain now,but I do have numbness in my right calf and not as pronounced and I have no right patellar reflex.Can I do alternative rehab treatment instead of surgery(which is a micro diskectomy)? Can I get Rehab or chiropractic care to restore my right leg function? Also,is it possible to have an MRI report to be too over exaggerated?
It is now November and he is still in a nursing home in Long Term Care unit and not receiving ANY rehab. The reason the home gives is that he has "plateaued". People I have spoken to have said that he should still be receiving therapy. I realize that he is now on medicaid, (he lost his job, home, everything due to this stroke) and is being treated like a second class citizen!! He is getting very depressed. Thank you!
t do it because it is through his work. I was supposed to get into an outpt rehab by this week for the nursing recovery program or else. I'm so frustrated, it's always been like this with him. I still ache, and I'm noticing my triggers. Fighting kids, no time to myself, I feel like I'm less "here" for the kids than I was before. They start to fight and need so much, and I become selfish with my time compared to what I was when I would take norco.
My father had a stroke in July and at the time he didn't qualify for therapy... he was in a semi vegetative state & required a peg tube. He was discharged to a skilled nursing home & his prognosis was not great. We started the process of applying for Medicaid for long term care which he was approved for. However, my father was a fighter and began to recover quickly!
I posted last night asking if anyone could share their good and bad rehab experiences...why was that deleted? I got an email that there were 3 respnses- If anyone responded please repost! Unless there is some reason we can't share rehab experiences??
t care, do this at a moment in which baby is content) so that when you tell your three year old that she needs to wait a minute (so she feels everyone takes a turn at waiting), have two boxes you rotate that you bring out one when nursing with puzzles, books, toys that she otherwise doesn't get to play with so she looks forward to your nursing so she can play with the toys, etc.
