Avatar m tn I had to haul him out of there last week to Mayo (Phoenix) ER to get cipro and an albumin IV, as well as a referral upstairs to Hepatology. He returned to rehab for his bed and three squares. Is there a more aggressive/proactive facility he should be in to monitor/tap his ascites and watch out for SBP?
1323747 tn?1364806882 Hi. I just wanted to tell you that I recently went to the Mayo in Phoenix, they have a full autonomic lab. See Dr. Goodman, he was great. They have the QSart machine that is so hard to find. My insurance didn't cover it, but he was willing to do the basics and minimum and let my doc back home in Nevada do the blood tests that were covered by my insurance. He is very patient and is actually from the Mayo in Rochester. He recently came back to Phoenix.
374251 tn?1246235657 i have a quick question. has anyone on this site attended phoenix house for rehab? i'm getting admitted on dec.4th, i've read the manual and spoke with a "completer". the program can take up to a year, and from what i understand, is pretty demanding. i'm going no matter what, as i have lost complete control of my life and want it back. i just want to know what to expect as far as the demanding part entails, i've never done well with authority.
Avatar n tn Hi Lisa, I was here back in 2007 before you even had your second daughter, I just go by a different name now. I had actually been thinking about you recently because I am pregnant, almost 12 weeks now and it was not planned and I've been on Suboxone for over 450 days now due to a horrible addiction.
Avatar f tn Most rehab centers take care of the detox the first week or so that you're there. I know the ones I checked into do. Also, stay away from Ultram. It will open a can of worms you don't need to mess with.
Avatar f tn Looking for the best treatment center in US, Consult with New Solutions Counseling centers in Florida- one of the best addiction recovery rehab center.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have some suggestions on how to get someone into rehab without failure and total rebellion. And in a state where there are very limited facilities and a large waiting list. I believe she will self destruct if this is implemented without going the day of. I see this on television all the time with intervention shows, but that is not reality. There is also a component that involves the health issues which are more paramount. Someone mentioned speaking to the specialist.
Avatar f tn Not all rehab centers are equal. Many if not most try to do it too quickly with a one size fits all approach, whereas an individual psychiatrist who really knows his stuff will go at your pace. Not that those are easy to find! By the way, you need a new psychiatrist. The one you have doesn't seem to realize he works for you.
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
Avatar f tn Maybe let him choose the middle name? Phoenix is a great name. Sounds good: Phoenix Michelle, phoenix miranda, phoenix sophia ..
14183940 tn?1433536902 Hey Cj!! I didn't realize you were so close, I'm from Amarillo, Texas. I know here in Tx, many rehab centers offer payment plans for people without ins, you would need to locate one near you and see if maybe that is an option for you. Take care!!
Avatar n tn I doubt anyone can help you here. Your best bet is to do a goggle search and/or call treatment centers in your area. Best of luck!
Avatar f tn I plan on traveling to Phoenix for treatment, but I need to know who do I make an appointment with first? St. Josephs hospital does have a pituitary center. I have so many questions and I have learned so much by reading this forum. Are there other forums like this one?

1175931 tn?1263809505 Get your phone book out. Look up detox and rehab centers in your area. Whether you have health insurance or not there are places you can go to get detoxed. That is the beginning. Then the work begins. To figure out why you are doing this. It sounds like it started with back surgery. But that is just a symptom.. There is something that is making you afraid or sad or both that makes you feel a need to numb yourself. I use to do this with alcohol.
Avatar m tn There are many expensive rehab centers across the United States that are not too large, or crowded, but will keep him at least 90 days and urge him to transition to a sober living facility afterward for a period of time. These facilities, if you have the money, can be very effective. I do not know the name of the facilities that deal specifically w/ crack addiction, but you can find them by going to the following website and finding the link within the page that says something like..
Avatar n tn After over 3 years of dealing with orthostatic hypotension symptoms, I am now looking at possible neuropathic causes. In the past, I first thought it was excessive fluid in my legs, then I thought it was cardiac problems. I have been seen by at least 6 cardiologists in the past 2 plus years, with no definitive diagnosis or treatment protocol other than .... yes you have OH. I moved to a new town at 5,000 feet over a year ago, which didn't help matters.
Avatar m tn Aquatic Physical Therapy and manual joint mobilizations by a manually trained Physical Therapist have great research backing them for treatment for hip arthritis. Often rehab centers have pools that are accessible for W/C bound patients.
Avatar f tn I posted before my husband decided to go to rehab we live in Ct and took him to one in Penn. I just have a question and this sounds so stupid, but i've lost all trust in him since all his lies and addiction. I want to know what it's like in rehab. He is in detox for 5 days then stays there for 21 days. The place is called livengrin...any of you heard of it or been there? I just want to know if people can easily have sex in places like that?
Avatar f tn He has become addicted to oxys since the accident and now does them intravenously, and at extremely high doses talking 500 to 600 in 24 hours (is trying to taper down). Can you recommend any treatment centers that specialize in addicts with TBI no longer acute that accepts medicaid in or around missouri. He has been through regular rehab a few times. We have been told that will be hard for him to quit until he gets help with the TBI first.
299889 tn?1257339377 The Morphine is scary and I finally started calling detox centers and rehab. I feel like I have to take myself out of my environment because my life ias so busy and the people around me ARE so needy (family) job. My fiance is behind me but he isn't an addict. The only medical detox I have found is no smoking but what the hey, 3 days.... Should I try to detox at home first and then go to treatment. I am grateful I have the chance to go. Has anyone went thru this.
Avatar m tn Am I able to quit it by myself? Or Do I to join in any rehab centers for it? My mom is advising me to join in Edgewood, an addiction treatment center in Toronto. Since it is expensive, I’m confused, but I wonder whether I could handle the withdrawal symptoms. Any advice would be appreciable.
Avatar m tn sub has been pretty good for me but i could certainly see where it could be a big problem for some people they really should try to keep in rehab or detox centers the shorter your on it the better from what i have the withdrawal is very bad and long lasting i do understand some may need long term with sub but it seems that some people are trading a light addiction and then getting hooked on sub and it is very potent it seems we are trading less for more
Avatar n tn After you detox and you no longer have insurance benefits for any rehab, what do you do? My grandson just checked into a detox facility but cannot return to his home. He is detoxing from oxy, valium, alcohol and was on a binge after 10 weeks clean. I dont know what to do to help him without enabling him..any suggestions? He is 18 last month so we dont get any info from detox facility.
1113973 tn?1258663021 Quality rehab facilities that are completely free are few and far between. Many have payment plans or will work with you with payments. Your best bet is to flip through the yellow pages, find the first rehab, and call them. Tell them what you need and ask for help. If they can't help, ask for a referral. Rehab centers know about each others terms and programs for miles. They are your best source of info. Outpatient rehab isn't nearly as pricey as inpatient programs.
1589929 tn?1310066922 I'm currently taking benzos for my anxiety disorder and have been on them for almost 3 years now but I'm not addicted to the benzos, I'm dependent on them.
Avatar f tn Hi Courty - Like Phoenix mentioned methadone or suboxone will be harder to come off of. I too have no experience but have read hundreds of posts here that state this. The longer you read and stick around the more you will learn. I'm sure someone with experience will post very soon. The people here are great and the information & support they offer are invaluable. The physical withdrawals are no fun I won't lie & then the mental aspect will take a bit longer to overcome.
