rehab

Avatar n tn I was in rehab for the first time in March. Was only there for 2 weeks because I found out I was pregnant about a week into treatment. They tested me when I got there but the results didn't come back until 7 days into treatment. I was already out of detox. So I chose to stay clean and not get back on anything. They wanted to put me back on methadone which is what they used to wean me off the oxy contin.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your comments. We decided to put in the pacemaker and she will go to rehab later this week. I am feeling hopeful.
Avatar m tn My mom has afib and the heart doc said he wanted to put her on Tikosyn. He said "little old ladies don't do well with that procedure". She been on the Tikosyn for about a month. Well now the afib is more often she has had afib 4 times and he now wants to do the Ablation. Does anyone know of someone that age having it done...
Avatar m tn There are many expensive rehab centers across the United States that are not too large, or crowded, but will keep him at least 90 days and urge him to transition to a sober living facility afterward for a period of time. These facilities, if you have the money, can be very effective. I do not know the name of the facilities that deal specifically w/ crack addiction, but you can find them by going to the following website and finding the link within the page that says something like..
Avatar m tn sub has been pretty good for me but i could certainly see where it could be a big problem for some people they really should try to keep in rehab or detox centers the shorter your on it the better from what i have the withdrawal is very bad and long lasting i do understand some may need long term with sub but it seems that some people are trading a light addiction and then getting hooked on sub and it is very potent it seems we are trading less for more
Avatar f tn Going to rehab is a great way to get clean, learn about addiction and get off to a clean start, but there are a lot of caveats involved. Like the previous posters indicated, the person must have the desire to truly change their life. If they don't, rehab likely won't work. However, each step that is taken is a step closer to a life of sobriety. Sometimes it takes people several attempts before they finally see success.
Avatar f tn He has been through regular rehab a few times. We have been told that will be hard for him to quit until he gets help with the TBI first.
Avatar f tn Most rehab centers take care of the detox the first week or so that you're there. I know the ones I checked into do. Also, stay away from Ultram. It will open a can of worms you don't need to mess with.
Avatar f tn Looking for the best treatment center in US, Consult with New Solutions Counseling centers in Florida- one of the best addiction recovery rehab center.
Avatar f tn Not all rehab centers are equal. Many if not most try to do it too quickly with a one size fits all approach, whereas an individual psychiatrist who really knows his stuff will go at your pace. Not that those are easy to find! By the way, you need a new psychiatrist. The one you have doesn't seem to realize he works for you.
Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.
Avatar f tn who has experience in these types of situations. Contact local agencies and rehab centers to find out their experience in this. There are rehab centers that sort of specialize in working with pregnant women. Weaning has to be done under close medical supervision and slowly. It is not an easy thing to manage during pregnancy if there is a high level of addiction. Each situation is unique and it is critical that you work with someone experienced in addiction during pregnancy.
14183940 tn?1433536902 Hey Cj!! I didn't realize you were so close, I'm from Amarillo, Texas. I know here in Tx, many rehab centers offer payment plans for people without ins, you would need to locate one near you and see if maybe that is an option for you. Take care!!

1175931 tn?1263809505 Get your phone book out. Look up detox and rehab centers in your area. Whether you have health insurance or not there are places you can go to get detoxed. That is the beginning. Then the work begins. To figure out why you are doing this. It sounds like it started with back surgery. But that is just a symptom.. There is something that is making you afraid or sad or both that makes you feel a need to numb yourself. I use to do this with alcohol.
2117276 tn?1334658495 Hey Rocky - most of us do it at home for the very reason you speak of, when you don't have insurance, there really aren't many low cost centers so for the most part you may as well curl up in a corner and die. I faced that with my first husband and found NO help whatsoever. Texas seems to be cutting everything right now so you will probably be hard pressed to find help - have you called drug hotlines?
Avatar m tn You could tell the doctor that she has no one to take care of her. My grandmother had to have her hip replaced and she had to go to a rehab for 30 days, her ins paid for the first 10 days and Medicare paid for the rest. I am not a doctor, this is just an idea, based on my experience with surgery in the elderly. In my grandmothers case she had no choice.
Avatar f tn he was discharged with the advice for heavy counseling rather than rehab. Flash forward to tonight. He has been off Sub for a week and a half now and seems to now be experiencing extreme withdrawal. I woke up to him tossing and turning in our bed to hitting the wall and almost screaming out in pain. I'm not sure what to do and if nothing how long will this last? I was under the impression that he worst withdrawal symptoms were within the first few days for sub.
Avatar m tn My 83 year old father is on glimperide 4 mg twice a day. His A1C is 8.9, higher than usual, but taken after holidays and post holiday eating. Very little acitivity since winter, bad lungs, joints, gout, heart, etc. Doctor says he needs to change to Lantus insulin. Should we see endocrinologist for another opinion? Couldn't we try other oral meds first and dietary changes? Also triglycerides very high, 600s, for a while now. Chronic renal disease, but stable, Any ideas or recs.?
Avatar m tn Aquatic Physical Therapy and manual joint mobilizations by a manually trained Physical Therapist have great research backing them for treatment for hip arthritis. Often rehab centers have pools that are accessible for W/C bound patients.
Avatar f tn I posted before my husband decided to go to rehab we live in Ct and took him to one in Penn. I just have a question and this sounds so stupid, but i've lost all trust in him since all his lies and addiction. I want to know what it's like in rehab. He is in detox for 5 days then stays there for 21 days. The place is called livengrin...any of you heard of it or been there? I just want to know if people can easily have sex in places like that?
299889 tn?1257339377 You will need more than 3 days in a rehab center. I was there for 3 weeks my first time. In rehab you dont just detox, you also have phsych sessions. They dont want to release you until you deal with what causes your addiction. 3 days isnt long enough to detox and difinately not long enough for rehab. If you do decide to wd at home than you have got to have some aftercare and you will need to stay away from the drug addict friends.
Avatar m tn Am I able to quit it by myself? Or Do I to join in any rehab centers for it? My mom is advising me to join in Edgewood, an addiction treatment center in Toronto. Since it is expensive, I’m confused, but I wonder whether I could handle the withdrawal symptoms. Any advice would be appreciable.
1113973 tn?1258663021 Quality rehab facilities that are completely free are few and far between. Many have payment plans or will work with you with payments. Your best bet is to flip through the yellow pages, find the first rehab, and call them. Tell them what you need and ask for help. If they can't help, ask for a referral. Rehab centers know about each others terms and programs for miles. They are your best source of info. Outpatient rehab isn't nearly as pricey as inpatient programs.
Avatar n tn After you detox and you no longer have insurance benefits for any rehab, what do you do? My grandson just checked into a detox facility but cannot return to his home. He is detoxing from oxy, valium, alcohol and was on a binge after 10 weeks clean. I dont know what to do to help him without enabling him..any suggestions? He is 18 last month so we dont get any info from detox facility.
