4152590 tn?1350772856 I had a bad night last night. First, I had to sit through a 5 hour meeting yesterday and developed what i think is sciatic nerve pain down my left buttock and leg. I've had this kind of pain before and don't think it's MS related. Then, last night, I was working on an important document on my computer and lost it. Needless to say, I was very upset. It was late, so I just called it a night.

Avatar n tn s are sometimes caused by stress, and stress is caused by too much adrenaline, is there a medication to reduce the amount of adrenaline our bodies produce? I know we need a certain amount of adrenaline to be able to cope with "fight or flight" scenarios but just wondered if a reduction in it through medication may also help reduce the PVC's. Again, apologies if this has alreaady been covered of this forum but though I'd ask!!
Avatar f tn Oh you poor thing..what an awful time for you all..can't imagine how you're feeling right now, but it looks like the things you are trying are good ways to start..I don't have many ther ways to help..I know I went through a divorce having my daughter and through all the turmoil I felt something would happen..and she was fine and quite a placid little girl..i hope that helps reduce your worries a tiny bit..
Avatar f tn Im in the same bout stressed and overwhelmed not just because what im going through but also because its my first and im nervous ect. Ect. Everyone says its normal. Try listening to relaxation or meditation music on Pandora with some headphones if you have quiet time just lay there and relax think and about the baby.it helps me. Hopefully same for you :) you will be fine mommy!

I have this theory - my periods started being irregular in my final school year when I was 18 - and the year was very stressful. The dr then said I will have problem trying to conceive - which was true until I fell pregnant with my son without trying to conceive(a very stress free period in my life). That was 6 years ago - and no lucky surprises since then.
Avatar f tn You can ask your doctor to slowly reduce your pain medication and start alternative therapies while you are tapering the medication. Over a long period of time you will do better at a lower dose of pain medication and still have the option of increasing the dose once your body starts tolerating this dose. However please remember both beta blockers and antidepressants have to be withdrawn very slowly and only under physicians supervision. Please do not attempt to withdraw on you own as it can result in severe withdrawal syndrome. Take care!

The type of meditation sounds alot like TS Geare described to you in that you don't try to force your thoughts away. You focus on your breathing to keep you in the present moment. I find that lifting weights does not do anything but running helps a little bit. The best medication for me for my anxiety is keeping my mind busy at all times! My 15 year old ran away and is using drugs, my job has demoted me with pay cut and reduced hours, my husband is talking about divorce, and my step son who's 20 has no respect for my rulesand I think both of the children are jealous of the baby. I'm not able to make all my bills, and my job is not sympathetic to my difficult pregnancy.

'Headspace', (I forget the other one)) This will help strengthen certain areas of the brain, which leads to stress reduction (and other health benefits). A few minutes a day for 2 months should show some results. There's also mindfulness motion exercises: Qi-Gong, Tai-Chi, Yoga (Therapeutic yoga. Too many types of yogas.) There may be some meditation classes nearby. Or Buddhist places often have meditation classes.

Having said that, if you think you are meeting most of the symptoms of PTSD or Anxiety pl visit a psychologist, they would be of a great help.
