Avatar f tn There is a demands and capacities models that explains that the higher the demands are brought upon us (stress, emotions, work, time pressures) then the lower our capacities for fluent speech become. They are inversely related. Opposite. So when a very strong emotion like anger comes, your brain has high demand which means low capacity for fluent speech.

I've had this kind of pain before and don't think it's MS related. Then, last night, I was working on an important document on my computer and lost it. Needless to say, I was very upset. It was late, so I just called it a night.
Avatar n tn Dear M, As you may know, we are volunteers here and not medical professionals. We do have considerable experience with Type 1 diabetes. It is possible that stress has had an impact on your son's speech and the stress may well have pre-dated his official diagnosis, where it may've been brought on by not feeling well, not being able to express what felt wrong, and/or detecting stress reactions in family members responding to his needs.

Please consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. In the meantime you can try some life style measures. Take frequent small meals.
