It sounds that it might be due to infection on digital pulp space of the finger that is compressing nerves. It will create pain while performing any activity or on pressure. A few weeks later I started using my hand to open doors, play guitar, etc, with still minor pain. It has been two months now and my pointer finger still hurts a little when I play guitar or press my bike brake. I paid $125 for a meaningless doctor visit who said I need to see an orthopedic doctor instead. However, I did get an x-ray last week (two months after the fall). The x-ray results were 'undetermined'.

I am pretty worried about losing mobility in this finger due to the fact that I am a guitar/bass player and it plays a pretty necessary role in that. Do I need to try and make another appoinment with a doctor? Could this be tendon or ligament damage? Or am I just freaking out because I haven’t played music in over a week? I refuse to believe the medical info I’ve read that says a dislocated finger may never regain full mobility. I need it! Thanks for your advice.

I have 3 herniated discs one which causes nerve pain - This became much worse after a car accident but it started before that I have osteoarthritis - This is directly linked to guitar playing and the fingers I use most are the ones that are most visibly affected. I also get this kind of pain with doing anything too much with a specific finger, say using my pointer finger to control my laptop mouse pad.

It worsens with wrist extension all the time and with turning doorknobs, when I apply pressure to that region or when I play guitar too much. This pain is present all the time. In the x-ray of my wrist the doctor did not find anything and he said pain would go away on its own but still it's getting worse each day. Some time my ring and little finger get tingly while sleeping but not in a severe way. I am just worried about what has happened to my wrist.

My son is 13yrs old and his finger tips are peeling (healthy skin not dry), I haven't changed anything as far as soaps go and it doesn't hurt him. I don't know what to do as far as treatment goes.....he is self-conscious about it, what can I do? Thank you, R.

I'm a musician. I play guitar and cello. Now, I've played guitar long enough where I over time developed calluses on my finger tips. However, now for cello I need a callus on the side of my thumb for a certain technique but I don't have time to develop it for weeks or months. If I regularly cut away at my thumb with a razor or something will a callus still build by means of artificial friction ?

May be you are growing an early callus possibly relating to your guitar. Alternate diagnosis would be pompholyx relating to fungus elsewhere.ok?

ve developed red, small, itchy spots on my palms only and about one or two on each finger around the cuticle. They are under the skin, and do not bulge, blister, scale, peel, or burn at all. They aren't very noticeable unless looked at closely, and they do not itch much except occasionally and when they do itch, they itch very, very badly.

it sounds like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to me. Do the pops feel like someone pulled and let go of a guitar string? not sure if that makes sense but I get that sensation. Also, if you tap on the inside of your srist, almost the heel of your hand (by the palm) and pain shoots into your middle finger & first finger & thumb, there is a good chance that it's CTS. that is a test they do for CTS.

I cut my left index finger on the second joint, its healed so there is no scab but the scar keeps callusing and it aches a little specially when i play bare chords on my guitar did it just heal wrong? might there be stuff in there still? or do calluses caused by cuts on your palm skin always keep callusing forever?

Me and my friend were in a coffee shop. We went in and he bought apple pie. We then went home, and he ate his apple pie. About half a hour later he started seeing a "pigmy" and "demons". I posted prior about pain in my knuckle starting in my left index finger knuckle. Since then, in early January of this year it transferred to the opposite knuckle.
