my mom's ankles are really red, swollen and they burn besides the skin is scaley.
For about eight years now I've been getting these little red bumps on my ankles. They sometimes appear in small clusters and sometimes are single bumps here and there. They are mildly itchy. Some of them have fluid inside. It often looks like I've been attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes - although the bumps are a bit smaller than mosquito bites. It seems to be more prevailent in the warmer months. It's not caused by shoes because I tend to go barefoot or wear sandals in the summer.
Then last night some red bumps appeared. The red bumps are still there. The itchiness and bumps haven't spread anywhere. I haven't really been outside much or anything, so I don't know why this is happening. Should I just not worry and put some sort of over the counter stuff on it, or should I see a doctor? What is wrong?
I take either claritin or benadryl and by morning it is mostly cleared up, some spots a little red and the rash might leave little red dots. I usually do this at night, during the day I can ignore more easily. I think it gets a little better as I tan for the summer, but it does not seem seasonal, or related to anything I can think of. I talked with my doctor - he said stop scratching it and don't use hydrocortisone. (I could have thought of that myself!
Over the year I've been getting these little red dots all on my feet and ankles. They don't itch and there is no pain. I've noticed today that I'm starting to get them on my hands and wrists. They are all about the size of a pinhead and raised. At first I thought they might be moles, but now I seem to be getting more of them.
Anybody had a red/ itchy/ hot rash on the ankles that travels up both legs?
In June of this year, 2013, we were up in Wheatland, California and my 23 year-old daughter got some raised red bumps on her ankles that were itchy and looked like (and we assumed were) mosquito bites; however, it's been four months and she still has the red bumps on her ankles except they are no longer itchy. Any idea what this could be?
I have a few small red dots on my feet and ankles, they don't itch and it doesn't cover the whole feet and ankle like petechiae would, I don't have dogs or cats and I know what flea bites look like and this isn't that, so what could it be? I ahve them for about a month now.
I noticed some red bumps around my ankles a couple of days ago, and they still haven't gone away. At first they were kind of sensitive like a pimple or something, but then they started to itch and they still haven't gone away. I think they are getting a little bit better but I'm worried that they might be bed bugs. Except my house is very clean and I don't think that it's possible. What are your thoughts?
I have noticed this morning new red spots on the inside of both ankles. Any idea what this could be. This discussion is related to Spots on ankles and legs.
My boyfriend and I went to Rehoboth Beach, DE last weekend and he has an itchy rash on his waist, ankles and thighs. I have red bumps on my ankles and knees. Some of my bumps are raised and seem to be filled with liquid. He went to the doctor but could not get a diagonosis because doctor sen't sure what it was and prescribed a cortizone cream and antihistimine. Mine seem to be going away. We are thinking his could be scabies and are afraid to sleep together as it could be contagious.
i have the same problem in the winter, its called dry skin. try lubing up those feet and ankles with petroleum jelly, then slip a pair of socks on before going to bed. after a few days it should be much smoother.
It does not itch but i have noticed little red bumps starting to spead, mostly around my ankles and top of the feet (they do not itch either). Any ideas?
Hi, This could be an allergic skin rash.Eczema is a chronic skin disorder that involves scaly and itchy rashes. Eczema is also called atopic dermatitis. Eczema is due to a hypersensitivity reaction (similar to an allergy) in the skin, which leads to long-term inflammation. The inflammation causes the skin to become itchy and scaly. In adults it is comon around the joints. Dry skin often makes the condition worse.
Also called gravitational eczema and presents as itching on the legs and skin changes like red rashes and ulcers on the legs. Treatment consists of topical applications of steroid based creams and the use of compression stockings. A biopsy skin will help in confirming the diagnosis. My sincere advice is to consult a dermatologist and discuss this possibility with him. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.

Hello. About two years ago, I developed an itchy rash around my left ankle. The skin was brown to rust-colored and small, weeping sores would occasionally appear. The rash would often appear to have red speckles, and the area affected felt dry and thickened. After about seven months, the rash completely disappeared, only to reappear around my *right* ankle. It's been there for over a year now.
As the spots seemed to spread, so did the mottled, pink/red skin. Soon, all the skin on my legs was affected. When pressed, the places would blanche and my feet would return to normal if I raised my feet. I tried different things, but the color would return as soon as I stopped. I decided to consult my primary care physician. He ran a series of tests for various toxicities and did a 24 hour urine. The results did not provide any clues. Also, he ruled out Raynaud's.
for the past 4 months on and off i get red bumps all over my skin the most being 15-20 bumps at a time all over my backside chest and legs and arms they are not contagious and i have not switched soaps they itch alot and they leave my skin with scars
Hi Everyone, I've been experiencing swollen ankles, my left one more swollen than my right one, even if I don't stand for a long time. They're even swollen after being in bed all night. I'm athletic, fit and not overweight. I have two questions: 1) is the edema a sign that HCV is progressing? and 2) can liver ultrasounds reveal mild fibrosis? My stats: 53, female, geno 1 VL 11 million infected 25 years/blood transf & frequently symptomatic (fever, swollen glands, fatigue, weak, etc.
Over time, this build up of fluids affects the skin, causing a rash that usually itches, painful sores, as well as thinning and discolored skin. It presents as patches of skin that can be dry and scaly or ooze on legs which have swelling, reddish brown discoloration of the skin and honey-colored crusting when the skin becomes infected. Skin thickens and darkens with repeated scratching and rubbing.
