Common Questions and Answers about Red itchy palms of hands

Burning skin... (I've had itchy burning hands and soles of my feet) First, I'd spend the money on CeraVe' Soap, it's at the drug store, for your hands and the shower... Also, a 24 hour antihistamine, Allegra is the best then Zyrtec then Clariton, take any of the 3 that you can tolerate. Also, stay out of the heat, bright light bulbs, cover your self with a light shirt and pants.... a hat but you do not need to get heated like sweating....
Usually there will be a blister that is sensitive to the touch along with a rash that can be felt but not seen on the palms of my hand. My hands have also become unusually dry. I had seen a doctor, was given a shot and put on a six day pack of steroid. It cleared up, but then returned. I thought it might be an allergic reaction to a new product I was using. I stopped using that product, but it has not cleared up. Any ideas what might be wrong, or how I can releive this?
i got itchy spots on the palms of my hands, I thought it was spider bite but then i noticed red spots on my ankles and up the back of my legs. it is getting really annoying so can someone please help me out!!!
I have had problems with the palms of my hands for about a month and a half now. Started out with itchy, red blotches, now my palms are just itchy, peeling, and look striated. A little better, but no great improvement. Have tried everything over the counter, except for cortisone products. Can a deep burn cause these types of symptoms, and for so long? I had worked a part-time job at a mexican fast food restaurant. I stopped working there a week or so before these symptoms began.
my daughter is 3 yrs old and she cant sleep threw the night due to this rash on the palms of her hands, she is awaken from her sleep crying because of the itchy and burning..the only thing ive noticed is redness and no water blisters.. my doctor has prescribed cortazone cream and it is not helping! what can i do to relieve her from this constant pain.
I took the penicillon for 10 days, I forget the name of the medicine but it helped and while my leg isn't completely heeled (distant scars that itch and bump) My palms are red, itchy and painful. My thumb knuckle had a round red rash that severely itches and is painful. If I scratch the skin appears dead, white and peels off. My thumbs are red and swollen. This has been going on since October 2008. I've never had skin issues, I've always had very healthy skin.
HI I have a co-worker that came to me with the palms of her hands red. She said that they were hot and itchy. but to the touch they were cool not warm to me? Is this an allergy or something more serious?
Hi everyone, I've been reading the forum threads - very helpful - but no one has noted my exact problem, which is itchy bumps on the palms of my hands. Not red, or white, they seem to come from within. My Dr. said they are probably not bites, as insects do not break the skin of the palms (too thick), and thinks it might be an allergy (to WHAT???). He gave me some corticosteroid cream (this one has Fluocinonide), but it hasn't helped much yet (have used it for a little over a day).
I have a case of itchy hands. I can't help but itch, and I get to the point when I keep itching, that I start forming little white bloches, and bumps all in between and around my fingetrs, palms, wrists, and anywhere else on my hands~!! I've tried to convince my mom to take me to the clinic, but she thinks it's a bad case of dry skin. She has no idea how much it hurts to be in this condition, and it's only itchy and hurtful, but it's gross and I need a docter, but my mom says I don't need it.
The vesicles are extremely itchy and they do not pop readily. They may involve the hands, fingers and the soles of the feet. Source: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/553583 Is this similar to your daughter's case? You may ask your doctor about this as a differential.
The top and palms of my hands itch a lot especially at night in bed and when I wake up I also have itchy blotches on different areas and skin bubble on face as well
I have an itchy, red palm with a burning sensation sometimes. Went to dermaltologist and received a cortozone creame. She was not sure what it came from. First time I have ever had it. No dietary changes or allergies. Any suggestions?
i was reading about the STD syphilius, and that spots on the palms of the hands or the palms of the feet were a symptom of its second stage. Try reading about it and see if it applies to you. Hope that helped.
Dear Doctor, I have been noticing red swollen spots on my palms once a month or more often for the last 2 years. I've always been ignoring them for so long because they haven't been bothering me other than looking a little awkward. Their sizes vary between 0.5-2 inches. They look like mosquite bites but they are non-itchy.
My daughter has red blotches all over the palms of her hands. She wakes up in the night crying that her hands hurt and she is itching them vigoursly. Her pediatritian said that she has contact dermititus and to jsut use cortisone cream twice a day, but this is not helpeing. I feel so bad for her and so helpeless.....what can I do?
I woke up this past Tuesday morning and the palms of my hands and the soles of my feet were red. My hands were swollen and warm but they weren't itchy. I tried treating it as an allergic reaction but there was no reason for it. After 3 days, it was still the same, so I went to the ER. They didn't take any blood tests and decided to treat it as an allergic reaction also. I had steroids, Claritin, and Benadryl at the hospital and they gave me a script for steroids.
They then proceeded to run their hands over my palms. My palms are sometimes red. I have thickening of the cords in my hands which appears similar to Dupuytrens Contracture. I have read that both the thckening of the cords and red palms (Palmar Erythema) have to do liver disease and cirrhosis. Why not Google Liver disease and red palms. I would have embedded it here but I'm not sure how you do that. Best...
Unfortunately my skin started peeling off in large sheets on the palms of my left hand. I thought it migh be a side affect of the Rx cream, but now both hands and all of my fingers are peeling. It doesn't hurt and it's not red; it's just peeling non-stop. I've used Eucerine lotion, Aveeno & Cetaphil and 10 minutes later they start peeling again. At the risk of spending another $50 copay & $75 for an Rx is there anyting you can recommend or tell what could have caused this reaction?
I have had intense itching palms for the last two months,my hands are red raw...any cream the doc gives me doesnt do any good...also i have some blood spots come up on my hands and arms...
My hands also have a pinkish tint to them. On my wrists and the back of my hands, it is the bumps that appear red but my palms have a general pinkish tint to them. The bumps almost look like goosebumps. I bought hydrocortisone cream and have applied it once so I'm not sure if it will work but does anyone have any idea that this could be? I'm also experiencing a scratchy throat and slight sinus pressure. I'm not sure if this could have anything to do with that.
Hi, I am having the exact severe condition of wanting to scratch the skin off the palms of my hands & feet right now. This is the third time this has happened. The last time it took 2 hours of staying submerged in very warm water to control it until the Benedryl started to help. It ended up with being my entire body itching. I tried ice and the warm water worked better. I do have food allergies & to some grasses and trees, but havn't introduced anything new.
Hi there. I went to the doctors complaining of itchy, red hands and occassionally on the top of my feet behind the toes and inbetween my toes. He gave me a cream to use saying that it sounds like scabies. I used this cream for a week from my neck down and showered every moring to remove it. This has not helped at all. He also gave me a hydroquortizone cream for my hands. It has been 2 weeks now and I am still the same.
i had them for a long time and i want to see if anybody posibly knows what they are or how to get rid of them. they are the same color of my skin (white). i heard of red itchy ones, but mine are not itchy just ugly. anybody no what this could be????????
Hi I have been experiencing extreme itchiness on both hands(on the back of my hand not the palms) and arms especially my righ arm up to half my fore -arm.it started 4 days ago and they look red and swollen .the affected area starts from above the thumb joint towards my wrists and forearms.(the fingers are spared) it has burning sensation and itches mostly during daytime(not at night). I had a much milder similar experience 3 years ago after walking on the beach for 2 hours.
I have been walking 3-4 miles everyday and have lost 25 pounds. But... I am still getting these horrible red welts on the palms of my hands. When they form, they last for seven-eight days. They seem to form if I consume too much sugar... which, under normal conditions I avoid. The welts are painful, swollen, and they itch something awful. I use a Benadryl creme to cope.... as well as avoid sugar. I have not shown the welts to my physician.
It started on the nape of my neck - which I thought was caused by hair dye, then after the glue got on my fingers, a rash went all over the palms of my hands and then I discovered the itch at the top crease of my bottom. The palms of my hands are really red - itchy and cracked and will even bleed. I have used cortisone crms - had a blood test and RAST allergy test - and yet no signs of anything as yet. I have done a skin scraping and I am going to the Dr AGAIN today to see what that result is!
ive read about the soles of your feet and the palms of your hands becoming splotchy red and itchy while pregnant but mine are strictly the tops. I dont have a rash of hives or anything...the only bumps and cuts on them are from me scratching so much. I initially thought it must be from my feet and hands swelling due to all my water retention...but ive been having issues with the water retention for quite sometime and this itchiness just appeared out of nowhere...
