Rebif shots

Common Questions and Answers about Rebif shots

rebif

Avatar m tn I think the instructions that come with rebif says you can keep the shots a room temperature for 30 days anything longer the shots have to be refrigerated.
211940 tn?1267881266 I have been taking Rebif injections, since January 2010, and I have never missed a single one, until now. Up until January 1, 2012, I have received my Rebif injections, free of charge, due to the fact I had no health insurance. I became eligible for Medicare, on January 1, 2012, and so I have had to wait for MS Lifelines to decide whether I'm still eligible for their "free of charge" program.
1176499 tn?1272680055 As directed, I give my shots in all 8 locations (thigh, stomach, back of upper arm, back hip). My wife helps me with the shots in the back of the upper arm, and the shots in the back hips). I have made sure to do the same progression, since I began, so I do not return to the same general area, until 7 shots later. I found that the shots in the back of my upper arms, usually stung the most. I was surprised when I began taking the shots, that I usually never felt a thing.
Avatar n tn Hello. I have been on Rebif now for just over three years after nine and a half years taking Avonex. Have been very consistent in making sure to take my shots. Having a short term memory moment, realized the other day while taking my 2nd to last shot of my current distribution; This being true, tomorrow will be my last shot with a schedule to take the first of a new packet on Saturday, Dec 22nd. Many thanks if you can supply me with the appropriate phone number to order a next batch.
1394601 tn?1328032308 I began taking my Rebif shots without taking Advil in advance. Am I playing with fire?
Avatar n tn what MS shots copaxone, rebif, betaseron & avonex has the smallest percentage of blood fractions
Avatar f tn My neurologist recommended Copaxone or Rebif. I have choosen Rebif mainly because apparently I have an active lesion in my neck and he said that Rebif has been shown to be quicker in "healing" the lesion. I have read about Rebif and and its side effects and starting to get really nervous. Any comments, pro or cons?
1207048 tn?1282174304 I switched to Rebif from Copaxone about 3 months ago (due to a pretty rough relapse while on the Copaxone, my neuro wanted to switch me to a more aggressive treatment.) I've had muscle aches, redness & bruising at the shot sites, and burning with the shot, but I've been ignoring those because I feel the pros of the medicine far outweigh the discomfort from the shots. I've always bruised pretty easily because I'm very pale-skinned.
1196859 tn?1266134938 I have been on both Rebif and Copaxone. I was on Rebif for about 5 years, and I have been on Copaxone for two. I didn't have any problems with the Rebif except for the high liver functions. That is why I am on Copaxone. I think there is no difference in the injection pain. They both were very minimal. My worst pain was in my arms for some reason. The daily injections aren't bad, especially since you don't get sick.
Avatar f tn Hip flask? LOL The rumor mill talks about that self-injector for Avonex. Here's hoping it comes along soon. Are your shots getting any easier? I sure hope so.
Avatar f tn The only medication I take that lists anemia as a side effect is rebif. Has anybody on an interferon experienced this? I realize there may be no connection but wanted to know what others have had. I have always had high hemaglobins so is new for me. All other lab was normal.
Avatar f tn When I went to get my rebif refilled last week was tokd they were out and its on border and they don't kniw when it will come in and could be a couple months. I called every pharmacy in town and got.same.story. Then called rebif and they know.if.no shortage. Is anyone else.having this problem? In meantime I am out so no shots.
Avatar n tn My girlfriend is a young, healthy, 38 year old that has just been diagnosed with MS. She is starting Rebif shots this week. How long do people live and what is the prognosis? As an rn I understand people respond differently to all meds, and everyone's diagnosis is more challenging than others with many directions. Her 5 yo son has seizures and the neurologists are avidly working with him to get them under control. Double dose here. HELP?
382218 tn?1341181487 It kind of took me off guard. After injecting Rebif for the past few months without any pain from the injection, I assumed Copaxone would be no different. Was I wrong about that! Immediately after injecting the Copaxone in my abdomen area, I had the worst burning/stinging feeling. I found it quite intense, which surprised me as I think I normally have a fairly high pain theshold. It did subside after 10 minutes or so.
Avatar f tn Hi all, my daughter was diagnosed with MS at the age of 14 and she is now 17 and has started with Rebif about 9 months ago. The is on rebif 44 and has no real side effects from the injection any more. But she had to have her gallbladder removed 2 months ago. She has also picked up 15 kilos since she started on rebif even though she is eating healthy and is doing swimming and spinning...no matter what she does she cant drop the weight. Is there anyone else who is having this problem?
Avatar f tn I did some research on a more in-depth medical aspect and find no bad interaction with Rebif and Aspirin. In fact the swedish.org clearing shows in its rebif instructions that one can take up to 650mg of aspirin every 6 hours for relief from flu like symptoms. Perhaps you just got a weird reaction this time. I sometimes get a bad one from my Tysabri, for example, my last one was accompanied by a headache that lasted almost 24 hrs and then went away. But all others had been ok.
432312 tn?1265644974 After a year I had another exasubation that landed me in the hospital. A few months later my Dr told me about Rebif which was new to the market at that time. Rebif is a 3 times a week shot and the shot goes into the fatty tisue just under the skin. The flu symptoms were worse at first but left almost completely after a few months. Last year I tried to return to work. I missed quite a few shots and the flu symptoms came back including this time extreme eye pain.
Avatar f tn The first month on Rebif my husband had to give me the shots but now I am able to do them myself. When I started I was having spacity in my legs and that has stayed the same or gotten better on some days. I do not think my spacity is getting any worse. I don't have flu like symptoms from Rebif. I do my shots, Tue, Thur and Saturday night and take tylenol or motrin before I give myself the shot. I do have site reactions from the shots.
Avatar n tn s and reading other forums, I have narrowed it down to Rebif or Betaseron due to the strength of the meds. My Neuro is leaning towards Rebif for me. I just need a thorough explanation as to why. My last two meetings with him where with me laying on the floor because I couldn't sit down due to lumbar puncture headaches! I will keep you all posted. Thanks again and God Bless you all!
Avatar f tn What is usually the cost of these meds? ( I am considering trying Rebif or Avonex) I have heard they run about $1500/month. I have to meet a $3000 deductible which means I may have to pay for my first dose. I don't have an extra $1500 floating around. I am really starting to freak out! But then again part of me figures I have probably had MS for 15-20 years an I am fine so far. I guess waiting another 1-2 months to start taking DMDs can't hurt. Can it?
4446427 tn?1371214718 I've only had two 8.8mcg doses of Rebif so far. The first one I took paracetamol beforehand. The second one, last night, I forgot. Woke up two hours later with incredibly sore muscles and joints, chills, fever, soaked my bed in sweat and my teeth were chattering. It lasted a few hours (I took paracetamol as soon as I realised what was happening). My question is, is this usual on the smallest dose after only two shots?
382218 tn?1341181487 My Rebif saga has come to a conclusion. After staying off of it for five weeks and seeing a reduction in my liver enzymes, I took just one 22mcg shot again last week and already my liver is not tolerating it. The MS clinic called this morning to say no more shots (darn, I took one last night) and so I am done with Rebif for good. I guess I was overly optimistic when I started my shots last week as I picked up another $1500 worth of syringes at the pharmacy.
1707517 tn?1313247961 Hello! I've just been diagnosed with MS and am wondering which drug is better. I've read the material for Copaxone, Rebif, Avonex, and Betaseron. I've narrowed it down to two -- Rebif or Copaxone based mainly on side effects. Which drug is the best?
