Rebif injection sites

Common Questions and Answers about Rebif injection sites

rebif

Avatar f tn I know I just said the meds was ok, but I just had my shot and my area is getting sore in my injection sites since it has increased to 22mcg when I get to 44mcg im going to be jacked up. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn So, in essence, you make it even more difficult to insert an injection. So, by alternating your sites, you lesson that possibility, because you give each area a longer recovery time. I can understand the difficulty in trying to give yourself the shots on the back of your arms, or on your backside hips. If my wife (who is afraid of needles and normally passes out at the sight of a needle) did not give me those shots, I couldn't do it myself.
1967803 tn?1325679473 ve been on a titration dose for about 5 weeks now and I can still see the the bruise from my first injection. A majority of the other injection sites are red blotches that are about 2 inches in diameter. These marks are mostly visible on my thighs and stomach. Sometimes I get a little residual pain and a red welt. I don't inject in the same area twice, I pre-medicate with Ibuprofen, I pinch, inject, let go, rub, apply Hydrocortisone cream.
Avatar f tn I have been on rebif for 2 years now. My question to all who are on or have been on Rebif is: do the areas where you have injected hurt? I don't mean right after the injection or even 1 week later. For example, both of my upper legs hurt when I lean against a counter top, even though I have not injected there for over 3 weeks. My hip areas where I have injected will ache as well if I turn just right when I am sitting down. I am actually thinking of taking a break from Rebif.
1770663 tn?1313992050 I recently started Rebif. My injection sites are not that pretty. They are all red and itchy. It does not hurt when the needle goes in but I sure feel it when the meds start going in.
Avatar f tn I have all of the classic flu like symptoms that I anticipated, as well as some really nasty looking red spots at the injection sites. Sometimes they bruise and form knots under the skin. Anyway, my Neuro said that is all normal and should subside within the next 2 months. However, I was speaking with my sister in law who is an RN. She said that they often have their patients take an antihistamine such as Claritin with their injections to lessen the sypmptoms (both flu-like and injection site.
4455840 tn?1354842183 Those hardened lumps are the reason that I had to quit Rebif. It was working for me, but I had hard, painful lumps in each of my injection sites. I have been off of it for 1 year, and still have those lumps where I injected in my hips. I also used the autoinjector and I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I am not able to self inject, so it was that or nothing.
Avatar m tn My question is how goos is rebif for treating MS.
Avatar f tn ve been on Rebif 22mcg for almost 2 years, with no side effects other than red spots at the injection sites (the spots stay for weeks). I don't inject my arms (no fat at all), and I use lidocaine cream to deaden the spot for the thigh shots (not much fat there either). Belly is the best spot for me. No relapses in 2 years. If you do choose any of the 3 sub-q injectables, do NOT underestimate the value of careful site selection -- always shop around for the fattiest spot you can find.
1378566 tn?1286930813 I still have not heard from my nurse. My sweet husband gave me my first injection of rebif last night. He was so good! I have not redness or side efects yet! Just praying that it stays that way! I had more symptoms starting Sunday night. I called my doctor and he started an iv drip once a day for three days at our local hospital. So thankful that I do not have to be admitted for this. It look just over an hour to receive my drip yesterday..
Avatar f tn Now that I'm taking Rebif I'm noticing injection site reactions. I know it will happen, but is there anything I can do or something others have done for it. Please help!!!!!!
2078115 tn?1333926565 I used to get large red spots at the injection sites on my belly, but no where else that I noticed. These spots would appear the day after my injection, and go away in a day or two. I haven't had the red spots for quite a while now, so I guess my skin is used to the Rebif. I'd say if they go away within a few days it's normal, if not give your Rebif contact person a call for advice.
1116556 tn?1345115906 i started aubagio a few days ago. i am feeling pretty nauseous & i got light-headed at the gym today. hoping it will pass soon. i was on rebif for years & was developing scar tissue at the injection sites. a pill seemed like a good idea. i'm still not sure. i'm a single mom of a preschooler so it's hard to be sick.
470613 tn?1207312671 It has the lowest incidence of side effects and does not make neutralizing antibodies. Flu-like side effects are rare, but injection sites reactions are more common, usually tolerable. There is also an occasional immediate reaction of chest tightness, shortness of breath, and often anxiety, that passes with about 15 minutes. Only about 13% of people get this once or multiple times. I would say that Copaxone is your best alternative.
Avatar f tn s the most complained-about side effect. You must massage each injection site, keep it warm, and rotate the injection sites so that each site has time to recover. If you don't, you'll end up like me! I had problems with some of the sites, so only injected in the hips, thighs, and stomach. After a while, the thighs ended up being so scarred that the injection would cause an IPIR. I also have it in the hips and stomach, but after the thigh IPIR I switched to Betaseron.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else experiencing this. I think I really need some more injection sites to use besides the abdomen and the upper legs.
Avatar f tn I'm so sorry the injections are not working :-( I had to stop using the sites on my arms after I lost weight because there wasn't as much subcutaneous fat and each injection would cause a big lump that lasted over a week. I hope the MS specialist has some alternate sites you can use!
