That said you need to check out your Rebetol dose. Something is strange with your dosing. Generally, 800 mg Rebetol is the lowest dose given, while 150 mcg PegIntron is the highest. May I ask how much you weigh? Are you genotype 1?
An easy way to look at if you are getting the correct weight based doses is to do these calculations:
1. Calculate your weight in kilos (your weight in lbs divided by 2.2).
2. Divide your ribavarin dose by your weight in kilos.
With Copegus you get 1000 mg riba up to 75 kg, so if that is the brand of riba you are taking, that would explain your dose. Copegus and Rebetol are just different brand names of the same drug though, so I figure you can safely follow the more detailed weight based dosing of Rebetol, which is as stated above 800 mg riba below 65 kg.

Ive done this before,it also depends on the amount of time you missed the dose,i missed a few times,and i was only a few hours late.but if you totally forgot to take the dose by the time you next one was due,there aint too much ya can do,except just keep on scedule...BTW....get some alarms set up .i had 3 clocks set up.and get a pill box...

There is a way around the platelet issue if the center will do it. That is platelet transfusions and/or Promacta/Eltrombopag a drug that can raise platelets. But these are temporary fixes so they would be need to be done (transfusions) and taken (Promacta) over length of treatment.
Between copegus and rebetol which one is more effective for the treatment? Because copegus make me so weak. I prefer rebetol if they have the same effectiveness for the virus treatment.

06 that just completed a 60 week treatment of Peg-intron and Rebetol. I was undetected at 12 weeks and stayed undetected through out the treatment. Unfortunately, the virus was detected 6 weeks after I stopped the treatment.
I would really appreciate your thoughts on what you think would be the best course of action at this point.

I’m unaware of any studies that correlate following this regime with SVR rates; while it might be *intuitively* correct, I’m not sure there is any supporting science behind it.

57 x 13 mg ribavirin = 741 mg ribavirin
57 x 15 mg ribavirin = 855 mg ribavirin
This calculation shows that you need at least 800 mg ribavirin per day, divided in one morning and one evening dose of 400 mg each. This gives you a dose of 14 mg ribavarin per kilo, which is a good dose.
Your doctor might even prescribe 1000 mg ribavirin to you, since many times everyone at or below 75 kg gets this dosage. It depends on what brand of ribavirin you are getting.

not sure there is much of a difference but i have heard pegasys has less side effects.
On Friday his doc lowered the Rebetol dose from 600mg twice a day to 400 mg twice a day in an attempt to reduce the anemia.
My husband's blood test today resulted in a hemoglobin level of 7.6, platelets 23.7. The doctor doesn't seem to want to prescribe a blood transfusion; the nurse this evening said to come back in to test levels on Friday and asked if we had considered stopping the Incivek (only 17 more days left on that).
