Common Questions and Answers about Reasons for fainting and vomiting

fainting

Avatar m tn Yes, my mom has been vomiting everyday for about a month and a half and has fainted during the middle of the day, in the shower, while walking, and in the middle of the night. She just did it again a few minutes ago, so I gave her some ginger ale a water and aspirin and she is now resting (under my close watch). Please anyone out there if you can help please respond. I can't only have one parent.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your theory i have been to 2 different gastroentologists and had a endoscopy (which discovered i still had food there after a day of fasting) and i have had a gastric emptying test but it found nothing :( all the doctors i have been to just say they don't know ive had a fainting disorder (for lack of better words) since i was 4 and over the years more and more symptoms keep popping up, the vomiting etc.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply... No, I haven't been back to see a cardiologist since this last episode. I've never been prescribed anything for this condition. Although, way back when they thought it was neurological, the doctor had me on Dilantin, which gave me severe migraines. After that he put me on Neurontin, which I took for maybe a month and stopped. But haven't been on anything since then and that was over a decade ago.
Avatar f tn 2nd day of vomiting and fainting. Tried to call ob and he's not working til tomorrow. Tried to call on-call ob and no answer. Called the hospital and they told me I probably have a virus and they don't want me infecting the other pregnant women! Too bad my bp keeps spiking and I've already been diagnosed with preeclamplsia. What am I supposed to do now?
Avatar n tn I did accept my third drink from a guy who left and gave it me on his way out but my fainting and vomiting dont seem to be normal symptoms of drink spiking. Also I passed out only 10 minutes or so after drinking only half of that drink. Should I be worried or see my doctor at this stage or do people just faint sometimes?????

Avatar n tn Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor. Without the ability to examine your niece and obtain a history, I can not tell you what the exact cause of her symptoms is or how to treat them. However I will try to provide you with some useful information.
Avatar f tn Afterwards I managed to drink some water and then got home, ate, and have been fine since, except for slight nausea.
Avatar f tn You need to talk to your doctor about it, and probably call the hospital to see if you need to go to the er. I was told to get medical help if I fainted.
Avatar n tn Nause, room spinning feelings, vomiting and fainting. I had severe fainting feeling that lasted seconds intermittently over a few months. Now mainly over that. Saw an ENT(ears, nose and throat specialist). Easy cure for me. Also had the same symptoms as yourself after banging my head(unexpectedly). So I too know how your symptoms can be severe. Mine was a positional dizziness. So this situation was one cause. There are others that the specialist should be able to diagnose. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Neurologically speaking, I personally cannot think of anything along those lines that would make you have chills and pass out. For example, if you had a seizure, instead of getting cold, you would seize up and then pass out. Perhaps a different field of medicine is at work, like being sick, as I mentioned before, or maybe a cardiology abnormality, which has to do with the blood circulation in the body, may be what gave you chills and made you feel faint.
Avatar f tn I have diaherra, vomiting, chills, shaking, and I faint. I feel so weak and drained when the episode comes. Sometime I feel like fainting and I don't, but most times I alway faint. I went into cardic arrest during one of my episodes. The doctors can't figure out any thing. They say it's stress also, but i wasn't feeling stressed when these episodes come on. I have panic attacks and they keep asking me if I wasn't having a panic attack?

Avatar n tn It seems like i ALWAYS have a headache which has been going on for about a year now. Before i faint and when i know im going to faint the first thing is my hearing goes totally away or muffled, then i start to get tunnel vision. my hands get really shaky, i break out in a bad sweat and my chest feel like it is being squeezed so hard my breathing gets fast. By that time if i sit down and concentrate on my breathing, which is really rapid by then, it will go away in about 30 seconds.
Avatar f tn I went in the shower and felt faint, called for my Mum and after a few seconds I did actually faint and lose consciousness. For the next few weeks I was feeling really tired all the time, nauseated and getting bouts of dizziness so I basically spent weeks in bed. Due to being so inactive and hardly eating I ended up in hospital for 5 days with painful impacted constipation.
255722 tn?1452546541 S when I finally got sent for testing. I was on the tilt table for 11 minutes when I passed out and had a recorded HR of 11 bpm. After about 2 years of meds and high salt/fluid intake I seemed to even out a bit. I came off the Norpace and just lived life. But not long after my first child was born, my heart began throwing PVC's, and some SVT. I also had more trouble with fainting then I had had in a LONG time.
Avatar f tn My daughters symptoms are mainly low blood pressure, low heart rate, low blood sugar, headaches, dizziness, fainting, weakness, and occasional seizures. There are too many symptoms to list really though. Her treatment right now is Florinef, Ritalin, Midodrine, and saline hydration therapy through her PICC. I just take Florinef.
Avatar f tn Hi, I’m 14 and about every time that I get up (it doesn’t even have to be fast) I’ll get really dizzy and lose my vision for a few seconds and can’t do anything to stop it. This has been going on for about a couple years now, but I’m asking if anyone else has experienced this and can offer information about how I can fix whatever’s wrong now because for the first time in all the times that this has happened, I nearly blacked out.
Avatar f tn I have recently been experiencing a lot of stress and my toes have been very cold and tingling but only in my toes, my feet are warm and I have full feeling. I have asthma and am on breo now and spiriva, I was taking no control medication the first time it happened (2014) and on advise the second time (2018). I am concerned it will happen again soon, any idea on what it could be?
Avatar f tn My 15 year old daughter has been vomiting between 10 and 50 times daily for 8 weeks now. She has had many tests, including, chest x-ray, upper, and lower g.i., MRI, CT, EEG, ultrasound, scope test, blood work, urine tests, and digestion pictures (forget name of this test). Every test has come back negative. Her symptoms are chest pain, dizziness, occassional fainting spells, headache, abdominal pain, and of course constant vomiting.
Avatar f tn Hi and thanks for using the forum. This is a tough question to answer, since abdominal pain is such a vague symptom. Generally speaking, abdominal pain lasting more than a few hours should be evaluated. Especially pain as severe as what you have described. IF the pain has resolved, I would think that it would be OK for you to wait and see if it comes back or if you develop other symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
